[00:00:03] Speaker A: Defect Entertainment. [00:00:15] Speaker B: Welcome to episode number 279 of the tally Talk podcast. [00:00:20] Speaker A: And this is Casey and this is Chris. [00:00:24] Speaker B: And Chris. Chris. 279 episodes later man. What. [00:00:30] Speaker A: What. [00:00:30] Speaker B: What do you got to say? What. What have you been geeking out on? What do you want to bring to the galaxy of. You know, to light talk listeners and followers. [00:00:41] Speaker A: Right. Don't. Don't forget a towel. Ever. Yeah, man, it's. It's. We continue to bring you the latest and greatest in the geekly news. And we won't stop. We'll never stop. And the news doesn't stop, doesn't wait for anyone. Just continues to enlighten our geekly lives. So in my, in my geekly experience over the last month, I've been. I just. I've been watching lanterns on the weekly. [00:01:12] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:01:14] Speaker A: Comes out Sunday. I watch Sunday. Like a TV show should be watched. Which is. I like it now. Like it all this, the binging. Like I've talked about this before. It's really kind of nice to be like, oh, there's a cliffhanger. I gotta wait another week of anticipation. So yeah, I like when I can actually watch a show like that. And it's. And it's awesome. It's. It's Lindenoff like writing reminds me of Watchmen. Like it's just. Is good writing, it's mature writing. It's definitely R rated and I love Green Lantern and I think that this show is. Is really just carving out kind of what I've expected from a more adult take on the. On the franchise. It's nice to see that. I mean we knew Creature Commandos is. Is and Peacemaker are both mature. Yes. They're going to have family friendly stuff. Yeah. But this, this show is awesome. It is true Detectives set in the dcu and I wasn't sure how they're going to do that on Earth, but they've. They've done an excellent job so far. So I encourage anyone out there to watch it, especially you. [00:02:30] Speaker B: I know you and you and Ruben have both been yelling at me to watch watch it. It is on my list. I will watch it. We have been geeking out on Loki. Finally finished season two because trying to like we started watching Iron man and then it was like so daunting to be like how many of these movies do I really gotta watch? [00:02:50] Speaker A: And you know what happened? [00:02:52] Speaker B: And I've seen them right. A million times. So I just trying to be a little bit more picky and choosy. [00:03:01] Speaker A: So. [00:03:02] Speaker B: But yeah, geeking out on. On Loki it was, it was good. It was weird. It didn't always make sense. It's gonna be interesting to see how it plays into Doomsday. I, I don't know. [00:03:14] Speaker A: Are you, Will you go see Endgame re rematch? [00:03:18] Speaker B: I'm gonna try. That weekend is like, it's a busy weekend and I hope it's longer than just that week. [00:03:25] Speaker A: Right. That was my thought. Right. [00:03:27] Speaker B: Yeah. Anyway, because we're talking about Marvel, let's go into Marvel news. First things first, we have got our 2028 MCU X Men castings so far, including Christopher Abbott, Adam Driver, Indy Navarretti. I think I say that. Navarrette, Maya Boyd, and yeah, May 2028 release date. So as of D23 footage and news and all that, what do you, what are you feeling about this new cast, which is only some of the cast, by the way. [00:04:06] Speaker A: Yeah, I, I, I'm pumped. I am, I am extremely excited for this movie. I, I knew, I knew they were going to announce stuff at D23 and I, I, and I was pleasantly surprised, I mean, by a lot of, like, a lot of the casting. I think it's really good choices on, on who they picked. I do like the Professor X actor because he's been a few things as late and it's just, it'll be interesting to see how he, what he brings to that role. The actress playing Rogue is from Superman and Lois plays Violence Daughter. And then it's also been an obsession, which I had to turn off at the beginning of the movie. I need to watch it. I need to watch it. I know. That's what I've heard. I just have an issue when they, when, when losers end up with their animals dying. Yeah, I was not in the mood after that, but that's why I keep, I, I just get through that. But yeah, I need to watch that movie. But the Mr. Sinister's casting was a great surprise. Very great surprise. Adam Driver is an amazing actor and I, and it was funny because they just kept saying, oh, he's not. I'm never going to be in an MCU movie. And this is my, this would have been my pick from the beginning for him to play. And I think it's time for Mr. Sinister to show up. And it'll be interesting to see because now they're saying that he'll be in Secret Wars. [00:05:32] Speaker B: Right. [00:05:33] Speaker A: So they're really just setting that stage, which is really exciting to see the direction they're going in. [00:05:38] Speaker B: Yeah, couldn't agree more. I like that Storm is like an unknown, you know, I And I, and I like that she'll probably have ties to this new Black Panther that they announced as well. Right. [00:05:53] Speaker A: So like I would imagine. Yeah, eventually. [00:05:57] Speaker B: It's crazy. So really excited to see this new direction and with that coming up soon is Doomsday. We've got a special look at that. This is to, to me the trailer that they should have released from the, from the beginning I thought it, it was just really well done. Gave you an idea as to what the story is a bit like what his intentions are and without giving you the whole thing. [00:06:28] Speaker A: Yeah, I think it's, I think that the narration by the Fantastic Four was a really good suit. [00:06:34] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:06:35] Speaker A: You know, it was smart to do it that way because yes, we know that if. We don't know. But we're assuming that Doom is a, is a Tony Stark, you know, variant. The fact that if they do change end game to where, you know, he snaps his finger and he changes the outcomes of other universes and that's what it like there's a lot of things that we could be that we definitely can guess what might or speculate what might happen in this movie or why. Why it's happened this way and the need to absolutely close the multiverse by Secret Wars. So if this is a two part movie. Of course it is. We know that it'll lead into Secret wars, whatever the outcome is. I do agree. That trailer, I mean I didn't need that trailer to be the first one. I thought the first trail they showed was, was good and there was a good hinging at was what was going to happen. And then this just, just opened the can of like. Yeah, awesomeness. So it's, it's. Yeah, I can't wait. Bought my tickets. [00:07:39] Speaker B: Real, real question here. Two part question. Are you going to go see Dune as well to make it Doomsday? [00:07:49] Speaker A: No, I, I refuse to go see any movie. I should be seeing an IMAX apparently because I just am a dummy. So I'm gonna say no at this point. Okay, but my friend. But not that weekend. No. [00:08:06] Speaker B: Okay. [00:08:07] Speaker A: Okay. I gotta, I gotta fly to New York that weekend. [00:08:09] Speaker B: Okay, gotcha. Yeah, I have friends who are doing morning Doomsday and then going to lunch and then going to Dune. And I was like, that sounds awesome. [00:08:20] Speaker A: That does sound awesome. Ambitious and awesome. But I'm so freaking busy that time of year that. [00:08:27] Speaker B: Yeah, it's your birthday. [00:08:28] Speaker A: No, my birthday is not the busiest part of it. It just. [00:08:31] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:08:31] Speaker A: It's actually funny because usually I've, I, it's the end of My first half my soccer season, and usually I have a game on that day, but they shifted it this year, so my birthday, I'm off on a Thursday and I can go see it on opening night without spoiling and enjoy my birthday present. Isn't that great? [00:08:46] Speaker B: That is actually pretty for you. That maybe every Star wars movie, sometimes that happens for you. [00:08:53] Speaker A: It. I mean, around that day. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's always the epic movie Christmas time for sure. Gifted to me. [00:09:03] Speaker B: All right, so another gift that we had at D24 was Vision Quest, the ending of the trilogy. Apparently that started with WandaVision and Agatha, and now this, I thought looked weird and fun and, you know, creepy and, you know, sticking in line with. Who wrote that? Who wrote that one? That comic, The Vision one? [00:09:27] Speaker A: Tom King. [00:09:28] Speaker B: Yeah. Was it Tom King? It is. So, yeah. So, you know, keeping in line with that as well. And so love the trailer. And. And I'm excited to kind of see, like, because it's such an outlier now that TV show and like, that kind of idea, like, how does that tie into, like, this grand scheme? [00:09:50] Speaker A: Who does it? [00:09:52] Speaker B: You know, I mean, does Vision just get killed? You know, I mean, like, what happens in Doom world order? [00:09:57] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, it's a. It's the reach. Like, Vision's gonna come back regardless, of course, for these movies and. And whatever they decide. But I. I'm most excited about James Vader coming back, especially James Spader. [00:10:10] Speaker B: Yes. Perfect cast. [00:10:14] Speaker A: I mean, it's. It's funny because it's like, I. It's so interesting, like, just to be like, hey, we're gonna be in this. Whatever. Whatever mind space they're in. Yeah. And then James Spader just play Ultron, but as James Spader. Very, very smart. Yeah. It just looks weird and great. I can't wait for it. Yeah. [00:10:35] Speaker B: Crazy, crazy, crazy. Yeah. [00:10:38] Speaker A: So. [00:10:38] Speaker B: And then finally, keeping along the Doom kind of theme here, Cosmic Invasion, the video game is getting its dlc, which is Siege of Castle Doom, which will be coming out very soon. Get back into that game. [00:10:56] Speaker A: I do, too, since you bought it for me for my birthday or something. And then we never played it together. Or maybe once we played. [00:11:02] Speaker B: I think maybe once. Yeah. It just says at a later date. It's coming out this fall. [00:11:07] Speaker A: So they also haven't confirmed which characters are going to be added on as well. [00:11:11] Speaker B: No, they haven't, so. [00:11:12] Speaker A: Well, we'll keep you guys, Doom is coming. Doom's coming all over the place, all over the fandom. [00:11:19] Speaker B: That's it. And we'll keep you Posted on, on that as it continues to come up. All right, moving over to the D.C. side of things. TV show got greenlit, which is the People vs. Gorilla Grod. I think we had already hinted at this, but now we kind of got a little bit more news about how Jimmy Tatro, the actor, will be playing Gorilla Grodd, convicted of murdering his father. The King Gorilla series is an eight part true crime docu series with Jimmy Olsen also being in there as well. So this is crazy. Honestly, I think it's a cool idea. I think it's just smart and I think it's like, why not just like this is gonna be like a court show. [00:12:05] Speaker A: It's gonna be great mockumentary, docudrama ridiculousness and the kind of, kind of weird things that you find in Mar or in D.C. anyways. You know, in comic books in general, like when you kind of get away from the main superhero super villain thing, it's just I think that having your genres like spread your genres out, have some fun with it, see where it goes. I think I'm really excited for this show. [00:12:33] Speaker B: So, yeah, I think it's going to be fantastic as well. Is this next piece of news, which is Mr. Miracle. Tom King confirmed that Nathan Fillion will be joining his character, Guy Gardiner, which is so far overlapping into many series. Which is kind of awesome that he's kind of like that through line. But yeah, the Animated Series will be coming out soon, I think next year. [00:13:03] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. And it's, they make a statement this week, like, oh no, Nathan Fillion's Green Lantern is not a staple of the dcu, the DC film universe. So yeah, consistent thing that you for the show have been Lanterns. You know what I mean? [00:13:20] Speaker B: Right? [00:13:21] Speaker A: Yeah, we'll, we'll see what that, what that means when you like, you have a. I, I'm still trying to figure out how they're going to explain Guy Gardner in the Lanterns show. And it's just like Lanterns jumps around in a different, a few different, you know, decades. So it'll be interesting to see how this gets, he gets put in there as well. So. [00:13:43] Speaker B: I agree, I agree. [00:13:44] Speaker A: Watch, watch Lanterns. [00:13:46] Speaker B: I, I, that's the real thing. The, the whole point of this episode. So dcu, we've got some shake ups. Waller and Paradise Lost TV shows have both been canceled, but Booster Gold is still alive as it searches for a new writer. I don't know how I feel because I don't feel like either one of those got far enough for me to get excited. But it is kind of Curious that Waller got canceled with, like, how much Viola Davis has been there since Suicide Squad. [00:14:18] Speaker A: Yeah. I could see them more, like, pushing that into. Back into Peacemaker if that keeps going. [00:14:28] Speaker B: Like, is that still going? [00:14:30] Speaker A: Yeah, I don't think they're gonna. I think they're gonna do another season, at least of Peacemaker. Okay. But I could see that being part of the Peacemaker show instead of its own thing. Sure. Paradise Lost. I don't know. I, I didn't really. I wasn't really sure about a Wonder Woman prequel in the first place. I, I think it could be better served after they introduced Wonder Woman and then go back and do something like that. Or that is the Wonder Woman movie where it's more Paradise Lost. And that's like, way before she even becomes Wonder Woman goes. You know, it's just covers all of the history of Themyscira. Whatever. I also made a bad joke about how they're just going to cancel everything that has to do with women and just. That's. That's. We're gonna cancel Booster Gold. Oh, it's canceled now it's. Now it's back. Now we're gonna cancel these two shows. I. It's a bad joke, but it's like, I don't really understand what happened with Supergirl, and I think I'm unfortunately, like, they're canceling these projects, including, like, even Wonder man and stuff over at Marvel where you had it greenlit and then you didn't. So. [00:15:35] Speaker B: Right. [00:15:36] Speaker A: All of this shifting of, like, what they think is going to be a hit or not. I don't know. I don't know what the reasoning is. But I, I, I don't know. I just. [00:15:46] Speaker B: Wonder man getting Emmy nominated and then getting canceled is also super strange. [00:15:50] Speaker A: It doesn't make any damn sense. [00:15:52] Speaker B: Yeah. Unless they're just really like, we just don't want more tv. And then I, and then I get it. [00:15:59] Speaker A: It's though. It's like they, they're not gonna stop doing tv. Some of their best stuff is on T. Like, I don't. Whatever. Yeah. [00:16:07] Speaker B: I'm just saying, at least for Marvel, they don't have any other TV projects announced. [00:16:12] Speaker A: Animated ones, but that's animated. [00:16:14] Speaker B: But that's fine. But I'm saying, like, I don't know, maybe that is it and that's why they just wiped it. [00:16:18] Speaker A: Then why do you have your own streaming service? [00:16:21] Speaker B: They had also shot Wonder man, like, a while ago, and it just came out. So, like, I think this was just probably their idea was just like, get it out. The Emmy is an icing on the cake for them. [00:16:34] Speaker A: But why green light something only to cancel it, you know? I. I don't know. [00:16:38] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. All right. [00:16:41] Speaker A: That's the weirdest part about it, right? [00:16:42] Speaker B: I guess you're right. Maybe someone hit a button on accident. Green light. The button. [00:16:50] Speaker A: It was Loki. [00:16:51] Speaker B: That was. It was. Yes, that's it. All right. So that. Anyway, last piece of DC news. We're getting more of the New Gods with Ram V telling more stories and kind of almost like a second arc to the 2025 series that he worked on. So, I don't know, more New Gods news is good news. [00:17:15] Speaker A: The new guys, the old Gods, all the Gods. Yes, yes, I agree. I think that Ram V's New Gods was great picking it up instead of. Instead of it being an ongoing series and picking it up as a new chapter each time as a smart idea as well. It just doesn't really put as much weight on it. You can tell a story and be done with it and pick it up again. So when the New Gods inevitably show up in the DCU film universe, I. I would hope they borrow some of this. So it's good. It's good stuff. [00:17:48] Speaker B: There you go. I'm excited. All right, so let's speed across to a galaxy far, far away. D23 also showed some footage Fighter. This is the Shawn Levy directed Ryan Gosling starring movie. We have not seen any trailer or anything for it. I don't know when the. I don't know when they're going to release it. I guess maybe on Doomsday. I would assume that would be a [00:18:12] Speaker A: great time to do it. [00:18:13] Speaker B: Right. [00:18:14] Speaker A: Yes, I agree. I think that's when we'll see it. Okay. We did get it. What's his. What's his character's name? [00:18:22] Speaker B: Cade Audubon or Oberon. [00:18:26] Speaker A: What? A Star wars name, of course. Yes, Oberon. That's so funny. Yeah. I like the idea of the setting beyond. You know, it's. It's kind of like what I like about. I've been watching the Ninth Jedi and the fact that it takes place thousands of years later. Great. Still covering the same shit, of course, but. But it is a nice little reset in a way to move farther away from that galaxy we're so familiar with. [00:19:00] Speaker B: Yeah, exactly, exactly. So another, I don't know, amazing thing from. Is that we got an Ahsoka Season 2 trailer which basically just confirms that Season 2 is coming. They didn't just shelve it. And on January 20, 2020 7th, we will see it? [00:19:20] Speaker A: Yeah. Did you? I read an article about how they've changed the appearance of Thrawn for this season to make more Chiss. And I've looked at the pictures and he looks, he does look different and I think it's actually a smart idea because there are things they, there are some things I didn't like about his [00:19:41] Speaker B: appearance in season one because it was just blue. It wasn't. [00:19:46] Speaker A: Yeah, Yep. [00:19:48] Speaker B: Yeah. You know, I'm looking now. Yeah, he does look more alien than just. Yeah, it's just like. Yeah. [00:19:58] Speaker A: Like a little bit more. [00:19:59] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [00:20:00] Speaker A: A little bit lighter skin like they are. Yeah, like the Chis are like. Yeah. I. This looks, it looks very large scale space battles as we know that Thrawn will battle Akbar in the galactic battle. We've been waiting for that. We haven't gotten in many Star wars things, but yeah, I think it looks very large scale and I'm excited to see where they're going with the whole balance goal story and stuff like that. [00:20:28] Speaker B: So can I see a question? [00:20:30] Speaker A: Excited? Yes, of course. [00:20:31] Speaker B: Sorry. Sorry. I'm excited too. But is it Ahsoka story? Is it about the Skywalkers? [00:20:41] Speaker A: No, it's. Yeah. I don't know. What do you mean? [00:20:44] Speaker B: Like, do you think Dave is making this, Ahsoka's story? Everything that made Anakin to who he is because of her and like the things that she did behind the scenes influenced her children or his children. Just think it over. [00:21:09] Speaker A: I don't know. I, I appreciate the flashbacks that we're getting in the Clone Wars Flash, but you know what I'm saying, I, I kind of do. At the same time, Anakin never met his children. Unless you're just saying they were touched by the Force. [00:21:27] Speaker B: No, I mean, more like behind the scenes though. She's dealing with the rebel stuff and that is directly going into Luke and Leia, you know what I mean? And so I just feel like. [00:21:40] Speaker A: But they're, they're already there, which is the, the weirdest, the weirder part about it because if we're. This is New Republic time. Like Luke has already faced the galaxy. [00:21:51] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:21:53] Speaker A: So they're already prominent figures in the universe in a way. If you read some of the comics like it does, it does downplay a little bit where they have to go and battle against the, the remaining remnants of the Empire stuff like they show in the, like a lot of it is all tied together. Right. So I, I don't know. I. It's interesting. Like, I mean, Luke and Ahsoka Met, you know, already. Will she meet Leia? Will they do a CGI Leia? You know, I, I. Who knows what they're going to do this season? I just, I feel like it's two different paths, right? And then you have this little green Grogu guy run around as well. You know, it's. What is the. What's the ultimate goal of. Of this New Republic storyline with Dave Filoni? Like, right. Where. Where. Where does Mandalorian Grogu finally come into this? Where do they do an heir to the Empire movie? Like, where. Which it was talked about, which now they're not talking about, apparently. So what is your end game? You know, what is the end game of this? So I would. That's. Is it curious. [00:23:00] Speaker B: Star Wars Doomsday. [00:23:03] Speaker A: Exactly. Palpatine comes back again, right? Yeah, again. Again. [00:23:09] Speaker B: Again. [00:23:10] Speaker A: All right. [00:23:10] Speaker B: Yeah, exactly. All right, moving on. Marvel and Star wars are crossing over into Hope Assembles, written by Kevin Smith. This is a ridiculous idea. It's got four crossover covers, which is cool, honestly. Like, it's. It's a cool little thing. I don't know how this is gonna work, but we'll, you know, I like that comics get wacky every once in a while. So that. That's coming in January. [00:23:45] Speaker A: Yeah, I read one thing that he, like what his stipulation was, was like, that it would only be about characters from the 1977 movie and involved with them. So it's a little bit smaller in scale as far as, like, who's gonna. Who they're gonna meet and stuff like that, you know, or how it's gonna happen. So I don't know how he's gonna handle this, but if anybody can do it, I'm sure he can. [00:24:11] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, exactly. So stay tuned for that, like you said in January. [00:24:18] Speaker A: And then, wait, isn't there also Jay and Silent Bob meets Star wars or something like that as well? Or there's another comic he was recently writing, probably. [00:24:28] Speaker B: That sounds like something we covered on our show. [00:24:31] Speaker A: I would think so, but it's not clear to me. [00:24:34] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Something there. And then finally, Star Wars News. Cale Kestis is coming in manga form in December. It's currently overseas now, which has been available since earlier this year, but it's coming over in America and getting translated later on this year. So if you want to see Cal Kestis do some more Calcast things, check out that manga, which will be coming out December 1st. [00:25:01] Speaker A: First the cast. [00:25:06] Speaker B: Yes, exactly. All right, Chris, let's get over to Crowd Sorcery. First up, Valiant, which is just. I don't even know what to do about Valiant. They did like these AI Covers. Did you see this? Did you. Oh my gosh. They did like Punk Mambo is back. But they like putter with like this whole AI they clearly cover and people are like, what are you doing? Like, you just did this successful Kickstarter campaign which we'll leave the link in here where you can get all this great Joe Casada Valiant stuff and it looks amazing and you can still back it even though it did get funded. But they're trying to reboot this universe kind of like I don't know what the approach is right now. Again, what's happening with this company? [00:25:56] Speaker A: And again and again. Yeah. So if you're, if you're a semi popular comic company, why are you not even. I can use AI and make it look as if it's not AI Right. Like why wouldn't you be smarter about that In a world that doesn't like AI Art. That doesn't. That is actually, is actually a very like smart about it and saying, hey, we don't want this three place artists. [00:26:24] Speaker B: Like, why. [00:26:25] Speaker A: Why is a comp. Like we're not going to like you as a company if you use AI Some people are okay with AI but not comic books. [00:26:33] Speaker B: Not like that. [00:26:33] Speaker A: Right. Like that's lazy. [00:26:36] Speaker B: Yes. [00:26:37] Speaker A: Like you can sit, you can sit in Hollywood and you can be really Scott and say yes, inevitably AI is going to take over what we do. But I still am going to do these practical things or I'm going to design it myself or whatever. And then I'll use AI If I have to finesse it or what. Whatever. Right. The tool is there. But why are you. Why would you abuse it? Why would you. Why would you like throw that in the face of your. Of, of your fan. Your fan base when you're already having a problem with cohesive universe that like you can't even. [00:27:07] Speaker B: Yes. [00:27:08] Speaker A: Figure your out in the first place. So I don't know, I just think it's another. Like they're shooting themselves in the leg. [00:27:16] Speaker B: Yeah, it's really weird and. But the Kickstarter itself still looks cool. And then finally Jimmy Wong of what the Command Zone Fame Match Gathering kind of influencer. I don't say. But yeah, he's. He's got a new deck builder game that's coming out soon. It's a Rogue Light. So if you're a fan of Magic the Gathering, Slay the Spire Hades. This is a Kickstarter for you. It's not launched yet. So it's just a notify and launch link that we're going to leave there. But listen, this guy's been playing magic for so long and he's a great teacher of the game. I'm sure whatever he has up his sleeve should be fun and original and I'm excited to see what, what the launch is like. [00:28:04] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, for sure. He's mean. He's my. One of my favorite magic. I think him and the chick from Commander at Home. That's. Those are my two favorites. [00:28:15] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:28:16] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, gotcha. She's. She's great. [00:28:18] Speaker B: They're great. So we'll leave the link for that. And in the meantime, while you guys are spending money on that stuff, Chris and I are going to go to a quick commercial break. [00:30:01] Speaker B: We're back after those luscious commercials we're gonna get into. Well, Chris, what. What time is it? [00:30:08] Speaker A: It's the. It's the time for the pursuit of plastic. [00:30:11] Speaker B: That is right. That is right. And first up, we've got Gremlins, Gizmo and stripe Brickheadz figures from Lego dropping September 1st. We'll put the link in here. It's only 25 bucks. I. These to me are like a better version of a neck, not neca. What are the things? [00:30:35] Speaker A: Pop. [00:30:35] Speaker B: Yes. [00:30:36] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:30:36] Speaker B: Because it's tactile, it's fun. [00:30:39] Speaker A: You can build it. Oh, my gosh. [00:30:41] Speaker B: Yes. That's it. [00:30:42] Speaker A: It's more creative. [00:30:44] Speaker B: Yeah. So like I said, we'll leave the link in there for that. If you are a Gremlins fan like we are, you may appreciate that. [00:30:52] Speaker A: Wait, now with this, with this, this IP the Gremlins license, why have we not got a Gremlin set yet? I mean, that's kind of my question too. We've gotten like the ones from the video game that they had, like that little where you would build them and play the game, but. But they have not released a true Gremlins. Where is it? [00:31:14] Speaker B: Maybe this is it. Maybe they're gonna see how this feels to people and then we will. [00:31:18] Speaker A: Maybe. Maybe. [00:31:19] Speaker B: I'm excited. Other things I'm really excited about. This is cool. I didn't know this. Skeleton Warriors. I don't know if you guys remember that, but that is from. [00:31:30] Speaker A: I do. [00:31:30] Speaker B: Our 90s. Yeah, 90s cartoon show. But four horsemen have made them in articulated goodness. And you can now. I think you can actually pre order them until August 23rd. So. [00:31:45] Speaker A: Yeah. And then. No, then they're. They're also on Big Bad toy store. Okay. You can get them in other retailers that they work with. But that initial pre order from Four Horsemen is over. However, you are always able to order afterwards, usually. So. Which is cool. A little bit more money. I think it is. But right. If you missed it, you didn't miss it, which is fine. I love that show growing up. It was definitely one of my staples. And I've read that, you know, beyond these figures are going to do more, including like the human characters and stuff like that. Oh, yeah, Great, Great idea. I mean, it's like they. They already do great skeletons. When I saw this, it was just [00:32:25] Speaker B: like, whoa, I love it so much. [00:32:29] Speaker A: Yes, yes. And they're so creepy looking, those skeletons from a show. Great stuff. [00:32:35] Speaker B: Love that. Love that Four Horseman's doing it. Also very much love that NECA is taking over, presumably, the Muppet license maybe from dst because we've got a whole slew of Muppet stuff coming out. [00:32:52] Speaker A: I don't know if I don't know if they've been making it or not, but I know they've been. They were making Sesame street, but maybe. I don't remember if they've done Muppet before. I remember DST doing it, but yeah. [00:33:03] Speaker B: So we're getting Muppets figures from Christmas Carol. My personal favorite, the Muppet Babies. These were like the, the little toys that you got from, I think, Burger King, because I sent a picture to my cousin and he was reminded me. Or maybe McDonald's. Yeah, I. I remember having Robin. And then you got DuckTales figures, which are just. I mean, they look. Because they've been doing such good work with the Turtles cartoon stuff, they've just got that cartoon styling down so well that these, These figures look fantastic. [00:33:38] Speaker A: Yeah, I got Gizmo Duck on pre order right now. [00:33:41] Speaker B: Nice. Nice. [00:33:43] Speaker A: Awesome. What a cool design. Yeah. Just to confirm something that we did touch on a few an episode or two ago maybe, but both Neca and McFarlane. No, I'm sorry. Neca's gonna lose the Nintendo the Ninja Turtle license soon. McFarlane will lose the DC license by the end of the year. So they're just okay all this stuff up, right? Daddy did. [00:34:11] Speaker B: No. [00:34:11] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:34:13] Speaker B: Hey. Which is just crazy to me. [00:34:16] Speaker A: Yeah. You didn't let these big box companies make these figures when they've been doing a great job at these, you know, these designer companies. I don't know. I don't know. Whatever. [00:34:27] Speaker B: Yeah, that is it. All right, next up, Mondo has been doing amazing work with the Turtles line speaking of expanding those licenses. And now they finally have released their Shredder. We got a link to that as well as a link to. Of the other Turtle stuff that they've put out, like leo and Donatello. 265. It's on pre order now. I. If I were you, I'd pre order as fast as you can. Only because they sell it so fast. So. [00:34:57] Speaker A: Yeah, I think it's a great design. [00:35:00] Speaker B: It is. [00:35:01] Speaker A: It's excellent. I mean, it's like the Dream X Shredder was really cool. [00:35:06] Speaker B: Yes. [00:35:06] Speaker A: But this one is just really badass looking and I hope to see more. And I also hope, like what Mondo did with Motu and how they went and did 112 figures, that maybe they'll do Ninja Turtle 112, but who knows with everybody losing the license? [00:35:21] Speaker B: So it's like, I bet you they will, because just. We know that's it. You already have the mold at that scale, so all you do is shrink it. So we'll see what comes up with that. Mattel. This is so. To me, this is so ridiculous. Mattel is. Is giving you this brick shop version of an Xbox. It's 3509 pieces. It looks to me like complete garbage. And I don't know who would want to buy this as a collectible. That green Xbox that just came out now that to me seems like worth the money to try to find, but this just like, I don't want this brick quality is not up to snuff to me. [00:36:08] Speaker A: Yeah, I, I, I don't know. I play PlayStation. So, Yeah, I'm just gonna, you know, I'm gonna do, I'm gonna glue a LEGO platform to my PlayStation. [00:36:26] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:36:26] Speaker A: Mod it out myself. [00:36:28] Speaker B: So that's it. Yeah. So you, you could do that. And then speaking of Mattel, though, because Mattel does do some, some fun things. And, and one thing they've got coming out is on September 4, they are doing a poly. The pocket version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It'll be for $33. I'll be buying it as soon as it becomes available and thought you'd like that. I think that's all I had to say about that. [00:37:01] Speaker A: They have that, actually. [00:37:02] Speaker B: I'll leave you the link. I'll leave the link in there because you can get signed up to notify when it comes out. [00:37:08] Speaker A: Don't forget about the Monster High Buffy and Angel figures or dolls that are coming out as well. [00:37:13] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, that's right. [00:37:15] Speaker A: There you go. [00:37:17] Speaker B: That's right. All right, so you know, the toy gods do shine on us all the time as well as if you were an 80s baby and you knew this man. Magnum P.I. tom Selleck, his Mustache Replay toys. Or from Factory Entertainment, they are releasing 3.75-inch versions of Magnum, Miami Vice and the Six Dollar man, as well as Airwolf figures. [00:37:51] Speaker A: That's a cheap man. Six Dollar man, huh? That's [00:37:56] Speaker B: six million dollars. Sorry. Yes. [00:37:58] Speaker A: This, this day and age would be the Six Billion Dollar Man. This is cool. I mean, Factory Entertainment is actually right down the road for me. And they've done props for the longest time. Collectibles, other props, statues maybe. Yeah. And this is the first time I've seen a true action figure line from them. So it's like I knew they were doing the Knight Rider and Kit Airwolf, including the helicopter, apparently is coming. Bionic Woman, of course, with Six Million Dollar man and Battlestar Galactica figures from the nice series too. So, yeah, they're, they got a little niche, niche collectible thing going so well. There we go. [00:38:38] Speaker B: All right, so those are coming out. We'll give you guys more information when they get released. All right, so we're gonna go over to Comic Book Book News, DND icons which will be a new content from legendary creators, including of course, Joe Mangianello, who is the CCO of this new icons which will be their new comics as well as a black label DND campaign setting and just like bringing back a lot of their old like Ari Salvatore and like old, you know, D and D guys. So Dragonlance, Drizzt, Greyhawk. It's going to be a pretty expansive literary world and you know I, I'm excited to see like what this new era looks like. It's been a long time since they focused on the, the publishing brand. [00:39:35] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean you didn't have to. It was like so many books to even like approach it's and it would be nice to kind of have a, a little bit of a reset I guess. Yeah, yeah. So because it is daunting. It's like oh yeah, I want to read all the Drist books but you know I've gotten through three of 30 something so. Yeah, we'll see. Sounds good. [00:39:58] Speaker B: Yeah. So you know as those titles start getting dropped, we'll keep you posted on those. Dark Horse is releasing every single Tales from the Crypt comic collected together in one huge hardcore hard cover hardcover. [00:40:16] Speaker A: It's very hardcore. [00:40:18] Speaker B: It's about 150 bucks. You can actually pre order it now. It's coming out on November 10th. So if you're an EC Comics fan like myself, this is the thing today. To buy, to pre order. [00:40:31] Speaker A: It's epic. Yeah, it's a lot of reading. [00:40:34] Speaker B: It's a lot of reading. It's chunky and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. So this next piece of news is strange, but we're getting a new X Files comic. Yeah, Mulder and Scully are going back to Roswell and Joe Harris and artist Riley Brown are going to be kicking off this brand new era for Dynamite. [00:41:03] Speaker A: I mean yeah, you got a Lego set, you got a new show coming. Like you gotta get the fan base fired up again. So that's it. People do read comics apparently. [00:41:14] Speaker B: I, I like that they're giving life to these characters in these settings in this way. So I, I'm excited to see what this looks like. So Kristen Ritter is joining Bad Idea for a comic called It Demands Sacrifice which will be coming out this, this October which will be a read along Limited Edition 7 inch vinyl release. So kind of, kind of interesting. Co creator David Yoski is on their project as well. And yeah, it will be kind of like a cool read along like we used to have back when we were kids. [00:41:59] Speaker A: It's a lot of words. [00:42:01] Speaker B: Yeah, okay, sorry. [00:42:06] Speaker A: Almost like are you talking about a comic or, or a record? I don't know. [00:42:10] Speaker B: It's a It's a record being put out by. Bad idea. Yes. [00:42:15] Speaker A: It's an actual record. [00:42:17] Speaker B: Yes. [00:42:17] Speaker A: That's crazy. That's like the Superman record I have displayed at my desk from my childhood. Amazing. Going. Going back to the day of. Of. Of. Of that kind of stuff is really. It's a neat idea. Yeah. [00:42:32] Speaker B: I did not realize this, but she has worked with him before. He did the movie night books on Netflix night, which was like. [00:42:40] Speaker A: Is she in it? [00:42:42] Speaker B: Yeah, she's the star. She's like this witch. It's like a. It's like one of those 80s kids fantasy movies like we used to watch, like a never ending story or witches type movie. What? It's. It's on Netflix. It came out during the pandemic. It's really cute. [00:42:59] Speaker A: Okay. [00:42:59] Speaker B: But so anyway, so yeah, so they've worked together before, so that's. That's cool. [00:43:04] Speaker A: Cool. Okay, I'm in. [00:43:05] Speaker B: Yeah. Also I'm in on this is. As the Archie verse continues to expand as always. Archie versus Terminator is coming. This is from Rory McConville, Lily Butler and Steven Butler is coming out from Dynamite again in this October. Yeah. So he's been doing work. Rory McConnell on Terminator already, as well as Red Sonja. So this is gonna just be completely ridiculous and there's gonna be three different covers and you're going to be getting them out of a blind bag. [00:43:42] Speaker A: Cool. Yeah, that's great. I mean it never stops. Stops, yeah. Or the Archie train. [00:43:49] Speaker B: Oh, sorry, there's. Sorry, there's P all the way covers [00:43:55] Speaker A: A through P. Oh yeah, that makes even more sense. [00:43:58] Speaker B: Oh my gosh. That's disgusting. So, yeah, anyways, covers look cool and you know, stay tuned for that in October. [00:44:07] Speaker A: Okay? I will. [00:44:09] Speaker B: Clive Barker, the master of macabre, is working on a new and anthology series. He announced Library of the Dead, which is a three part anthology series which is kind of like a spiritual successor of books of the dead, which I remember those from many, many years ago and how creepy it was. [00:44:34] Speaker A: Awesome. [00:44:35] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [00:44:40] Speaker A: More Clyde Barker, please. [00:44:41] Speaker B: Yes, I. I love Clyde Barker. And yeah, like you said, more of that in the world. We need it. [00:44:48] Speaker A: Absolutely. [00:44:49] Speaker B: And then so we're gonna jump over to TV streaming news where first up, we have payday. I don't know if you do you remember this video game, Chris? [00:45:04] Speaker A: I was think I. I do now that you mentioned the video game. It was like a, Like a. It's like the Running man in a way. Right. It's like a. Is it a game show type thing with violence and all that stuff it [00:45:19] Speaker B: says the game's mass protagonists have proven that no score is too audacious. No enemy too powerful. No fortune enough. [00:45:27] Speaker A: No. [00:45:27] Speaker B: No fortune enough to stop your criminal ambitions. So cinematic heist mix, high octane action and exciting heist locations. So, yeah, payday. I think it was a game one like. Yeah, you went on heist, but I think it was like a PC game. Oh, you know what I mean? Like one of those, like, early, like, Counter Strike era, you know, where you could play online with people. [00:45:52] Speaker A: It's cool. Yeah, it's co op. [00:45:54] Speaker B: Yeah. So anyways, 50 Cent is on it. They're gonna turn into. [00:45:58] Speaker A: All right, never mind. Now I know what this game is. I'm thinking back to like 16 bit days, whatever. [00:46:04] Speaker B: Yeah, no, you're thinking of Paper Boy, maybe. [00:46:07] Speaker A: No, I don't know. Paper Boy was full of violent running man stuff. No, I'm thinking of something completely different, I think. But yes, now I know what you mean. This game. Yeah, this is. This is younger than us. [00:46:20] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, this is. But this will be cool. So I want to see how this goes. You know, heist, intense heist. Like, I love heist movies. I love heist TV shows. Let's see. 50 Cent has a pretty great track record of, like, making franchises on tv, so bring it. [00:46:39] Speaker A: I was thinking of Smash tv. [00:46:42] Speaker B: Yes. Which is your running man style. Yes, you're right. That's true. All right, next up, Kit Harrington has replaced Nicholas Holt as Gilroy or Gilderoy Lockhart, which will be in the next season of Harry Potter for hbo. Don't really know why Nicholas Holt left the project. [00:47:11] Speaker A: Scheduling. [00:47:12] Speaker B: Scheduling. Because he probably has a better career than Harrington. Well, we know he does, but this is kind of crazy because Nicholas. Nicholas Holt, to me, is one of those, like, amazing chameleon actors. Like, he really can be anybody. And so far, Kit Harrington has not really had that much range. And Gilroy Lockhart is very, like, flamboyant and like, I mean, you know, he did a great job, like Kenneth Branagh in the movie, so. And I could see Nicholas Holt being that character again. I don't know. You know, we'll see. [00:47:48] Speaker A: Yeah, we'll see. I mean, what? The first season drops in December? [00:47:52] Speaker B: I think so. [00:47:53] Speaker A: Yeah, so, yeah, definitely. We'll see. [00:47:56] Speaker B: I also now that you say, like, lanterns really is, like, true detective and it's not just what people had said. [00:48:04] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:48:05] Speaker B: I really wonder how this Harry Potter show is going to be, because HBO has never put out a normal show. You know what I mean? [00:48:13] Speaker A: Yeah, I agree. They. They do good. [00:48:16] Speaker B: Always elevated. You know what I mean, though? [00:48:19] Speaker A: True Blood is like. True Blood is like that, you know, True Blood's great. [00:48:22] Speaker B: So is the Golden Compass ones, like his dark materials. Those are all really good. So it's gonna be interesting. [00:48:32] Speaker A: Yeah, I just. I don't like. Like I've said to you, I don't want to rehash what we've seen in movies. I think that they have the opportunity. [00:48:38] Speaker B: No, they got to go deeper. [00:48:39] Speaker A: So much deeper. Right, Exactly. And there. I mean, when you read the book, it is much. Not much different, but there's so much more to it that a TV show can cover, you know, so, Yeah, I. I really want to see how this is so. [00:48:56] Speaker B: All right, so coming up next, Kingdom Hearts is getting an anime. This is going to be set for the Disney plus station. That's fine. I. You know, when they announced four at D24 or, sorry, D23, that got me excited and to see more Kingdom Hearts, even though I didn't really enjoy the last game, I still love that idea, and I like that world and those characters. So I. I want to see more. [00:49:26] Speaker A: Yeah. You're not the only one that didn't like three. I mean, it's fine. And I just think that expanding the universe is a great idea. It's. It. There's so much to touch upon within the Disney verse. And, like, so, yeah, I want to really see what this is gonna be like. It's exciting to hear this, especially as we're talking about, like, what. What is Disney plus doing? You know, more. More animation, please. You know, that's. Yeah, I'm down. [00:49:58] Speaker B: Yes. And, you know, we always talk about DC versus Marvel as far as their animated content, even. And this is just Disney overall. Like, they are doing some things in Marvel animation. They're finally getting things going, you know, now with the ninth. What is it? Ninth Jedi. Like, you know, we're getting some more stuff that's outside of the norm, which is great. [00:50:20] Speaker A: Yes, yes. [00:50:23] Speaker B: Speaking outside the norm, or at least things didn't ever know we were gonna get. But we're getting into Golden Axe animated series, and we even got a trailer for this coming to Paramount. Plus, it looks wacky. It looks weird. It's by the Star Trek lower decks Guy, Mike McCann and Joe Chandler of American Dad. So, you know, it's just. It's what you would expect from that kind of duo with those characters in a fantasy setting. [00:50:57] Speaker A: I think that's. I think it's the right approach to it. [00:50:59] Speaker B: Absolutely. [00:51:00] Speaker A: Yeah. I just. This doesn't have to be serious. Honestly. No. And it. I mean, I love those games, but I would, you know, it's either I'm gonna watch a true epic fantasy movie about that world or. Or this. [00:51:13] Speaker B: Right? [00:51:14] Speaker A: This is great. This is a great idea. [00:51:17] Speaker B: That's it. That's just it. So excited to see that when that drops. We talked about this on last episode, but it kind of became official in between that time. Batista has officially taken over as Kos for the God of War TV series, replacing Ryan Hurst, who did Injuries himself in June. I. I feel bad for the production that you have to even face this kind of question. I don't know about Bautista in the role and not to say that he's not a capable actor. I think he is. I just didn't. Just because his age. I don't know. I don't hate to say it like that. [00:52:00] Speaker A: I don't like it, honestly. I actually, I. I hate it. And the more like, I think not to. And I try to be like, I'm gonna be okay with it. I'm gonna watch it and not be John Shimano, but I don't like him being cast as. As Krato. I don't because it's just all I see is De Batista. That's all I see when I see him. All I see is Drax. And when I watch other stuff with him, it's okay. But all I can think about is Drax and Dave Bautista. And I don't see. I guess, you know, I don't know how much range you need for this role, but I still. Right. I don't. I don't see it because all I see is Dave Bautista and Kratos makeup when I think about it. [00:52:43] Speaker B: And that's it. Yeah. It was nice to know, like, I don't really know Ryan Hurst enough to give him something else to rely on. You know what I mean? Like, he doesn't have another. Like, Henry Cavill will always be Superman to some people. He will always be Geralt to some people. Like, you know what I mean? He'll be whoever you all else has been. Like, he's going to be a lot of things. Highlander. You know what I mean? Like, so. Yeah. And it's hard not to be that person or see them in a different role. But Bautista hasn't changed enough to be like, I've seen Chris Evans enough in funny roles. [00:53:23] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:53:23] Speaker B: To know that, like, he's not Captain America. You know what I mean? Like, that's a diff. That is an acting for him. Whereas like playing the Johnny Storm was more what I knew Chris Evans from all of his previous work. [00:53:38] Speaker A: Right. [00:53:38] Speaker B: For example. So anyway, we'll see how it goes. In other news, I think we kind of. I don't know if we mentioned this or not but we're. We're talking about right this exact moment. But Dungeon crawler Carl for Peacock. They have confirmed the showrunners which will be Chris Yost and Eric Haier. [00:53:59] Speaker A: It's crazy. [00:54:01] Speaker B: This, that this is that that duo. [00:54:04] Speaker A: That's crazy duo. Yeah. Talent. Yeah. [00:54:10] Speaker B: It is in, it's in. It's with the producer like they, they're going into a. The right way. So Eric Hessier, just so you guys know, we've talked about many times he worked on Valiant work. He's. He did Oscar nominated arrival Chris Y did the Thor stuff. He's done Mandalorian Earth, Mighty's Heroes more [00:54:32] Speaker A: than you can even imagine. Chris been on. [00:54:34] Speaker B: Yeah, right. And in comic and stuff. So really good people who are going to understand what Dungeon crawler Carl is because it is so geeky and has so many pop culture references. So yeah. Really excited to see what comes next. [00:54:52] Speaker A: Yeah, I gotta read it asap. [00:54:56] Speaker B: Yes you do. Yes you do. Asap. And finally in TV streaming news, Dan Stevens has been signed on to be Robocop for Amazon Prime. He says it preserves the ultraviolence and sexual satire from the original movie. We talk about Dan Stevens all the time. He really can't do any role wrong in our mind and so like sure, bring it on. [00:55:22] Speaker A: Yeah, that like when I, if. When you think of Dan Stevens and you. If you happen to watch the guest like that's, that's his resume for robot Up. I think [00:55:37] Speaker B: at least from a violent you like. I think what they'll do though is like they'll give them humanity and like explore the things and plus the world of those mega corporations and like how that will play into it. Kind of like how they did it with Alien or they've been doing it with Alien. So like. [00:55:53] Speaker A: Yes. [00:55:54] Speaker B: I, I think there's a lot of ways to, to make this world bigger than just Detroit in. [00:55:59] Speaker A: Oh absolutely, absolutely. I just think like we talk about Range. Right. And you talk about like all of his appearances, you know and, and even like goofy appearances. He's the Beast guest from Beauty and the Beast and then it's like he's in Onslaught but he plays a completely different character that like you can't even like. It's. Yeah, it's a. It's really amazing And I, I just, I love Dan Stevens as an actor and I think that this Robocop show sounds really exciting. So same. Pumped, so excited. [00:56:34] Speaker B: So yeah, that's, that's TV streaming news. So let's jump over to movie news. Violent Night 2 got a trailer. This is the David Harbor Santa Claus epic that is now adding Mrs. Claus, which will be. Who's playing it? Oh, it's Veronica Mars, duh. [00:56:59] Speaker A: Oh, cool. [00:57:00] Speaker B: Kristen Bell. So who I love as well. I, I cannot wait. The original movie was so completely ridiculous and over the top violent and also had a cool like lore aspect to it which I always appreciate in these kind of movies. So I can't wait. December 4th this year coming up. [00:57:22] Speaker A: Yeah, that movie is a pleasant surprise and became necessary holiday viewing with Die Hard. [00:57:30] Speaker B: So yeah, yes, ultra violent. So great. Very fun. Coming up next, Jim Carrey is signed on to play George Jetson in a live action Jetsons movie. If I had read this in 1995, this would make sense. This now in 2027 and beyond is very like, who cares? [00:57:56] Speaker A: It still makes sense. [00:57:58] Speaker B: Colin Trevorrow to write and direct. [00:58:01] Speaker A: Okay. [00:58:03] Speaker B: Oh wait, sorry, that was a rumor. That was before. [00:58:05] Speaker A: Okay, sorry. I mean this, the Jim Carrey thing has been a rumor for a long time when they've been talking about this. [00:58:09] Speaker B: It has since 1995 or at least since we started this podcast, 2012 and [00:58:15] Speaker A: has gained speed as of late. And yeah, I, and we knew this was coming. And if you, if you're going to tell me like maybe they do it when he's older, you know, fast forward, you know, a few decades after the Jetsons TV show. Like kind of how, like what this next topic is about how they're concentrating on, on, on Barney, on. I'm sorry, on Bam Bam for the Flintstone movie. I just, I think there's a way to do this and honestly, it's like if, if you say George Jetson to me, I think I would say Jim Carrey. You know, in this, in this regard for live action like we have been for 30 years. [00:58:50] Speaker B: So interesting. [00:58:53] Speaker A: I'm okay with it. [00:58:54] Speaker B: I guess it just really depends on how they take it. Now things have, have been very meta like with the Barbie movie. And I guess it depends on what they decide to do. Yeah, you know, I mean maybe it is Jerry Jetson, but it's like a downloaded copy, you know what I mean? Like you find out it's kind of like a being John Malkovich eternal sunshine type of situation, which now that I say it all out loud, just sounds Cool. All right. [00:59:21] Speaker A: Write that. Write that treatment. [00:59:22] Speaker B: Let me tell Charlie Booker from Black Mirror to write that episode [00:59:29] Speaker A: as he [00:59:29] Speaker B: does two Star Trek episodes. Better than some Star Trek episodes ever. Have you seen those Black Mirror episodes? [00:59:36] Speaker A: I have, I have. All right. [00:59:41] Speaker B: As you hinted, the Flintstones is getting a liveaction movie in the works from Ryan Gosling, focusing on Bam Bam, who is the son of Barney Rubble. I. I don't really know what this means other than it might take place as a long ago sequel to the early 90s movie that started Rick Romero, Rick Moranis and John Goodman, which if that's the case, that's again, very kind of meta. [01:00:17] Speaker A: That would be neat since they both could be in this movie. Rosie o' Donnell could be in this movie. Who else was in. [01:00:25] Speaker B: Right. They're all alive, right? I don't know who the to. I don't. Wilma. Is that his wife? [01:00:32] Speaker A: Wilma. Wilma is Fred's. Right, yeah. Yeah. I forgot. Who played Wilma? Yeah, Betty and Wilma. Right? Yeah. Yeah. My question is, does Gosling play Bam Bam? And I think of course he does. Probably. Yes. [01:00:46] Speaker B: Yeah, obviously he does. [01:00:48] Speaker A: For sure. [01:00:49] Speaker B: Maybe he did in the 90s and we just don't know. [01:00:50] Speaker A: Oh, my God. [01:00:51] Speaker B: Like, maybe he was that baby. Maybe that's why he's been, like, attached to this project since he was a baby. This has been his lifelong right. [01:01:01] Speaker A: No way out of it. Yes. He signed a contract with the devil. [01:01:06] Speaker B: You will never not be this baby. [01:01:09] Speaker A: That's it. In 30 years time. [01:01:14] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:01:15] Speaker A: So speaking of 30 years time, this next one, or at least 20 years, it's been. [01:01:22] Speaker B: Yeah, it's been a long time. We have been talking again about things that we've been talking about for the last 14 years. Or 12. 14 years. Jeez. Of. Don't forget towel. National Treasure 3 is officially in development again. After we already got TV show. After we've talked about Kathleen Zeta Jones, after we talked about a million different things. I guess it's coming back again. I'm not gonna hold my breath, to be quite honest with you. [01:01:50] Speaker A: We've been talking either, but these movies are fun. [01:01:53] Speaker B: They are fun, but dude. Okay. And then finally in movie news, speaking [01:02:02] Speaker A: of holding our breath for. For how long now? [01:02:06] Speaker B: No, I don't even. This actually kind of makes me mad. [01:02:09] Speaker A: Right. [01:02:09] Speaker B: Ridley Scott says that because this is what he slanders. [01:02:15] Speaker A: Oh, that. Yes. [01:02:16] Speaker B: Romulus and basically said, I've got to go in there and fix it. So I'm writing a sequel to Romulus, which will also serve as a Prequel or no, sorry. A sequel to Covenant with Michael Fassbender's David coming back. This makes no sense. Ridley Scott isn't a writer. This is dumb. [01:02:43] Speaker A: The, the dumb part is how bad Covenant was. [01:02:47] Speaker B: Yes. [01:02:48] Speaker A: As a movie. I liked Prometheus. I thought that was a good movie. [01:02:51] Speaker B: Love Prometheus. [01:02:53] Speaker A: I like Romulus a lot. [01:02:55] Speaker B: Love Romulus. [01:02:57] Speaker A: Yeah, I. [01:02:58] Speaker B: Okay, heavily enjoyed it. Okay. [01:03:00] Speaker A: I heavily enjoyed it until. Until the Alien resurrection redo at the end. But then I watched the second time. I really enjoyed it. You know, it's like, it's a good Alien movie. I understand it's a better Alien movie than Covenant. And Covenant's not horrible. It's just. It's blah. Right. It was like we have to force the alien into the movie. We have to force the fact that it's. And not. And not continue to kind of do our own thing with everything. [01:03:29] Speaker B: Right. [01:03:30] Speaker A: Whatever. The setup at the end leads us to believe that, you know, David tricked everybody. And I mean, he did trick everybody, and then they just left it at that for how long now? So this is, this is a deserved sequel to this movie that we deserve to see what happens. Because I like Fassbenders, David. I think it's a great character as a villain. I think it's a great character outside of the normal alien and all that stuff. It's a much different level of, of villainy and, and, and, and how they treated it. But Ridley Scott has the, I guess, habit of talking about his own projects and acting like he can do better when we've seen that he can't do better on most things. [01:04:16] Speaker B: Right. [01:04:18] Speaker A: Like, I, I don't. I don't care. I would rather see a sequel, not a sequel to Romulus, but I would rather see what's his name do another Alien movie than see Ridley Scott do another. [01:04:28] Speaker B: That's what I was saying. Like, I'd rather see another Romulus 2 where Fede Alvarez knows, like, don't bring back the stupid crossover Alien, pre Prometheus hybrid thing and then everything else will be fine. [01:04:43] Speaker A: Yes, exactly. I'm just leaving. Yes. Yeah. [01:04:47] Speaker B: All right. And that's. That's, that's it. That's all we're saying. So. No, no, we got one last piece [01:04:54] Speaker A: of news, which is a big news. [01:04:56] Speaker B: This is great news. This is gaming news. [01:04:58] Speaker A: This is how you end a show. With positivity. [01:05:01] Speaker B: All the positive things other than. Let's talk about this. So Wolverine, the Marvel's Wolverine game, is getting a limited edition PS5 console bundle as well as accessories. They're all sold out. [01:05:14] Speaker A: Just. Well, I don't. I don't want another. I want to. If I'm gonna get a something, I'm gonna get a pro. Like, did I make a pro? [01:05:21] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:05:22] Speaker A: Damage. [01:05:23] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:05:24] Speaker A: Okay, move on. I'm gonna cry. [01:05:27] Speaker B: You might be able to get like. The yellow version's gone. They also made like a black and white version. [01:05:31] Speaker A: Oh, I don't want a yellow version. My wife would kill me if I put the color yellow in our living room. Yeah. [01:05:37] Speaker B: So just so you know, that's available. I knew in this next piece of news you were a fan of Hogwarts Legacy. Right? I think you played. [01:05:46] Speaker A: I was. I. I never beat it. Okay. But I did. I really thought it was a great game. It was really expansive and like intricate and a lot of cool things going on in such a closed environment of Hogwarts. There's things they could have had like Quidditch, but then they made a Quidditch game which was weird. So I'm hoping that what they can do here is grow the world of Hogwarts Legacy. But it does make sense. It's good. A sequel. It was a popular game. [01:06:17] Speaker B: Yeah. And that's it. You know, they know they can make more money off of it and that's why we make games for some people. So that will come out, especially when you got a TV show coming too. [01:06:29] Speaker A: Like. [01:06:32] Speaker B: All right, in this next piece of news, the Epic Games store will be supported on Linux. AKA it will be able to be run on your Steam deck a lot more easy. They don't have an exact time when that's going to happen. But it does mean that like if you are a Linux user you can finally use Epic in a way that doesn't suck. [01:06:58] Speaker A: I honestly, it's the. What was it? Epic. I forgot what even that mod was. You or the program you had to get to to run GOG and Amazon game and Epic. It's. It was. It was fine and like I never really had any problems. It was just that extra step and you had a. [01:07:14] Speaker B: You know. [01:07:15] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm just. Yeah but that's the thing about the Steam deck was like it was all about like settings and it wasn't just like an out of the box thing where it's like a great. Right. And it's. It's much more computer based and it's a powerful little unit. This is smart though, like to have it on the GOG and EPIC storefront where you can get that version right away and it's just. That's the Realization. The realization is that yes, these things, these Linux systems exist now. You have the box, you got the handhelds more than just the Steam deck and it's just, it's a really smart thing for them to do. [01:07:53] Speaker B: Yeah, no, couldn't agree more. And moving on, we've got Kingdom Hearts 4. As we were talking about earlier. We did get this preview from D23. This is. You got a setting into Coco and a new keyblade and all that typical Kingdom Hearts fun stuff. [01:08:12] Speaker A: Yeah. And extra like the real world stuff I saw where they're fighting in that cityscape was really cool too. So there's just the graphics are so more like so much more advanced now. Even from three. Three I thought was good but like graphic wise. But this one looks really great, lots of fun. I did, I did just, I just [01:08:35] Speaker B: wanted to say in the next thing because like you just said graphics that GTA 6 preview. [01:08:42] Speaker A: Well they're also saying that's PC which [01:08:44] Speaker B: is like it said captured on a PlayStation 5 at the end of the preview. [01:08:49] Speaker A: Oh then that's, that's my other point about, about talking about a pro at this, at this time is I'm. I'm. I'm on the cusp of, of doing it because the Steam box was a disappointment and what it could run at it was definitely not as powerful as a PS5. Right. And I'm not going to buy a PC because that's not really my gaming style. And so now it's like these games are coming out like GTA GTA 6 which looks freaking crazy. So please continue. [01:09:20] Speaker B: No, no, that's it just I mean because we're going to talk about the rest of this is game. [01:09:24] Speaker A: It's like a 24 minute preview of it, right? [01:09:27] Speaker B: Yes. 26 minutes of just which a lot [01:09:30] Speaker A: of this stuff coming up which I'm starting to appreciate more of being like not just a trailer but like the in depth look at games they're giving us is, is really great, is really cool after at Gamescom this year we're [01:09:43] Speaker B: looking at 100 hours of possible game. You know what I mean? And you showed us like submissions that might not even matter to the game because it's GTA. Those could all be side missions. [01:09:58] Speaker A: 100 I mean I'm thinking games like, like Valhalla that I put over three to 400 hours in. Okay. You know what I mean? Yeah. These games are mind blowing to me now how much they're packing in and in the world you can explore. [01:10:14] Speaker B: So I'm really scuba diving really excited. I was, yes. Scuba dive blew me away. [01:10:20] Speaker A: I was like, oh my God, you're [01:10:22] Speaker B: going to be able to go on the airboat. Yeah, so, yeah, that's coming up. All right. So speaking of Gamescom, we got some other pieces of trailers we got to look at. Mega Man Dual Override, Return of Proto Man. I'm a longtime Mega man fan. This to me Just, just checked all the boxes that I needed for, for Mega Man. [01:10:41] Speaker A: Gameplay look great and X. X is in there. [01:10:44] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, it's crazy. [01:10:46] Speaker A: Like, it looks awesome. I read some user reviews from Gamescom. They just said it was really a really great like, re entry into the series, so. [01:10:58] Speaker B: Which is finally what we need. [01:11:00] Speaker A: Yes, Very excited. [01:11:03] Speaker B: This next trailer, Mariachi Legends, basically 16 bed look like Castlevania updated with whatever this mariachi dude is. But it, it looks pretty epic, honestly. [01:11:20] Speaker A: Yeah, this was. I backed this on Kickstarter. So I've been waiting for this game with all the updates and all the waiting, of course, as usual with, you know, Kickstarter stuff. But it's coming out early next year, March. Yeah. And it looks, you know, the lore in it, the, you know, what they've shown from it just looks really neat. Metroidvania. And I was on, I was like on board when I saw it to begin with. Yeah. And so the more I've seen this game develop and now with this trailer, it's. I'm really pumped because there's a lot of cool Metroidvanias coming out, including in, you know, the new, new Castlevania and stuff. So, yeah, I love it. Yeah. [01:12:02] Speaker B: Very, very exciting in. [01:12:07] Speaker A: Can I talk about this one, please? This, this, this I didn't really see coming, honestly. I mean, we knew like the Witcher 4 was coming and you know, everybody, everybody I think is on board for that besides, you know, the normals. But to lead into the story starring Siri, they decided to release a new DLC that actually closes out the Witcher 3. So this is a Witcher 3 DLC coming for a game that's been out for well over a decade, right? I think well over a decade. Well over a decade has DLCs, all of this stuff. Not only that, they're remastering the game. When you look at the list of the stuff they're remastering, they show, show you a few things and they talk about and then they'll run this list and they're like all of this other stuff and it's like in an incredible amount of care and love for this game that has given Us this new basically next gen console look. And it's free for those who own the game. Oh, that's even better. Wow. Because these other companies, you know, they love to just keep taking your money. Even though I will pay for like a version on, on, on my Steam deck and my PS5. And then like, oh yeah, I do need this on my switch too. You know, I'm dumb like that sometimes, but not this time. I'm play this on my PS5 for free because it looks awesome. And yes. I can't believe they're putting this, this DLC out. It's called Songs of the Past. So great. [01:13:39] Speaker B: Cannot wait for this. Looks really fun. [01:13:41] Speaker A: You need to, you need a play that game, my friend. [01:13:43] Speaker B: I know, I do. I know. [01:13:44] Speaker A: So good. It's such a great game. [01:13:46] Speaker B: Speaking of games, I also need to play Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. We got a new trailer called the Planets Crisis. Just seeing more of that amazing summoning epicness. And the final conclusion of the series is coming and the ultimate weapons are coming out. [01:14:07] Speaker A: Yeah, all those weapons, it's gonna be really like large scale epic. I am, I usually what I do is I wait to finish the game before it when the time is announced. Like we know it's coming out in the spring now. So yeah, I'll go back and finish. I'm gonna finish the second one because there's stuff like now I know there's. There's stuff that happens in the end of the game that. Because you definitely know that they, they've tied in a lot of that. The, the sadness that happens in Final Fantasy 7 at the end of the year. So I'm just waiting for that before we go into the epic conclusion. [01:14:48] Speaker B: It looks. [01:14:48] Speaker A: You should, you should play these games. I just actually I just bought the first, the first part for switch two for like 15 bucks the other day. Yeah. Because I was like, oh, why not play this game on the go to replay it? And I love it. You know, it's. They did a really good job with these remakes and I'm. I'm hoping that they'll maybe do some other Final Fantasy games, but whatever this is, we'll see. [01:15:14] Speaker B: But we got this, which is cool. Which is very cool. You sent me this, which I did not know was even a thing that was coming out. This is Warlock, Dungeons and Dragons official game inspired by D D. It is in development right now. So. But they released like a 8 and a half minute trailer of gameplay. And my last DnD character was a Warlock. So to see some of these things like Eldritch blasts and stuff. Like it's pretty cool. Pretty cool to see the moves. [01:15:54] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:15:54] Speaker B: Looks. Looks great. [01:15:57] Speaker A: Yeah. People are like, well, what you gonna do after Ballers Gate 3? Well, we'll do something different and we'll make it look awesome. And they did. And this is the. I think this was the right approach for a. For a game that would. Follows up something so big and epic that. Yeah. Never be matched small. I guess. I mean, you know, third person RPG adventure. [01:16:19] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:16:20] Speaker A: Adventure action game is. Is the way to go after something like Baldur's Gate 3. And this. The. The different. Like being a warlock is a really good idea too because there's just so much manipulation you can do with. With all the elements as they show in this. In this trailer and just exploring the. The world of D D in a different. In a different, you know, from a different camera or different aspect. It's a really great idea. So I commend them and I think this game looks amazing. [01:16:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:16:47] Speaker A: Same as much as this next game. [01:16:51] Speaker B: Not as much as this next games which if you have ever played the Fable series, we are getting a new one in 2027. This game. [01:17:04] Speaker A: What. What do you guys say? I was just gonna say like Fable is all it. It's always been Xbox. You know, it's always been. It hasn't been a shared title before. Right. I think this is the first time where it's. You can get it on. On PlayStation. You can. You can play it across. Across the spectrum of video gaming. [01:17:22] Speaker B: I was just going to ask you, is it. I'm looking right now because I don't think. [01:17:25] Speaker A: I thought it was an Xbox box. The first one was an Xbox. Okay. [01:17:29] Speaker B: No, no, you're right. Xbox and then PS5 and Steam. [01:17:33] Speaker A: I. I am, I am completely blown away by this, by the, the programming that's going into video games now these days. I know that it's. There's a lot of AI involved as far as like creating. Creating like the depth of interaction and the depth too. It has another way which is fine. This is. I mean if you're going to use it the right way in that regard. Yes, I think that's extremely sorry because how do you build in this trailer, in this gameplay trailer, like you can talk and have conversation with every single character now. Fable was always known for that. To have it like the world was always influenced by what you did. Right. It was like a very advanced game for his time. This to me, like you can go in every building. You can have like the sheer scale of this it just like it blew my mind when I watched this trailer. I just. And it's just these are the reasons why I want to buy a more powerful PS5, honestly. Because you know that the ultimate gaming experience for these upcoming games as we get closer to six and these more advanced systems, that's what they're building them for. And you need the processing power. [01:18:43] Speaker B: So can I just. Here we go. Fable will be around 15 to 20 hours of main and quest gameplay. [01:18:49] Speaker A: Okay. [01:18:50] Speaker B: And then around 15 to 20 hours of site and open world exploration content. [01:18:54] Speaker A: Interesting. [01:18:54] Speaker B: And then there's life systems are limitless. So you can play them as long as you want. [01:18:59] Speaker A: The. But the replay value in something like this, right, It's a different adventure every time you play it. So why make it longer than it needs to be for a single walkthrough? You know what I mean? You go back and you can play it a different way. [01:19:13] Speaker B: Yes, yes, you can play. Yeah. You're getting. You're getting more. Choose your own adventure. You know what I mean? You are going to get a difference. [01:19:21] Speaker A: All the influences change because it's so immersive. [01:19:25] Speaker B: So yeah, great, great trailer. And finally we're gonna end the show with a couple pieces of magic. The gathering news as we've got our first Masters of the Universe super drop coming from Secret Lair on September 14th. Which we'll leave the link in here for because it looks insanely epic. The. The reprints are really high value and the artwork is. Artwork is insane. I mean you got cartoon artwork, you got just old school, you know, back of the COVID artwork, comic artwork, all of it's delicious. [01:20:09] Speaker A: Yeah, I want all of it. And you and I need to strategize before that day and how we're gonna do this because I want. I want at least that $149 non foil bundle because I do want that swan song with it. But I want all the cards and the bundles are. It's. It's what, five or six different sets? So yeah, you and I need to talk before the fortune. So we'll figure that out. [01:20:40] Speaker B: But like I said, we'll leave the link for that. It looks delicious. Um, and that's coming up. And then finally they have confirmed that on arena wizard says that Commander is coming. They're working on developing how to do really like the multiplayer aspect of it. You know, the gameplay of it itself isn't too hard. They've been doing that correctly for a long time. But it's. How do you integrate politicking? You know what I mean, or, or some version of talk, you know, because you kind of do need it a little bit. [01:21:16] Speaker A: I agree. I like what do you do? You put on headphones and it's just [01:21:23] Speaker B: like a room, you know? [01:21:25] Speaker A: Yeah, I guess so. [01:21:26] Speaker B: I mean, they run spellcast though, so, you know, I mean, like which they have dedicated rooms and blah, blah, blah. So, you know, it's not that hard. [01:21:34] Speaker A: I don't know. Right. I mean, an audio mechanic to this. I don't. I don't think it would be that difficult to have. But you're right. I mean it's commander.
