[00:00:03] Speaker A: Defat Entertainment. [00:00:14] Speaker B: Welcome to the 271st episode of Tally Talk. This is Chris, this is Casey, and we are back with the final episode of 2025. [00:00:25] Speaker A: Oh my gosh, 2025. Man, what a year. What a year. [00:00:30] Speaker B: What a shite year. Except for the awesome geekly stuff we got this year. You know, it's a little bit of a dichotomy going on in our, our world of, of so we just got to, you know, fade into the things we love and embrace the geekiness around us so that we don't go. Right. So speaking of that, what have you, what have you been doing to geek out? [00:00:53] Speaker A: You know, I, I watched Hunting Wives, which is complete smut trash on Netflix. Geeked out on that. It's hilarious and so silly and dumb. And then I've been listening to Project Hail Mary and I'm probably a third of the way into it and it's great. Like I'm dropping the F bomb on that at the beginning of the episode because it's a really good book and I. It's the guy who wrote the Martian. [00:01:28] Speaker B: Okay. [00:01:29] Speaker A: And it's just, it's so sciency, like so like realistic, you know, like this could happen because he explains the science behind how he does all these things. I think you'll love it. And now I, I mean, I haven't watched the trailers because Nisha had read the book a few years ago and told me about it. And when the trailers came I was like, you know what, I'll just read the book and finally I'm doing it. And then cosmic invasion, which I'm sure we'll get into. So. Yeah, just geeking out on a lot. How about you? [00:02:04] Speaker B: Yeah, same cosmic evasion. Thank you for the birthday present. It's a great game. It's probably one of the greatest side scrolling beat em up games ever made. [00:02:17] Speaker A: Which, you know, with these, this day. [00:02:18] Speaker B: Of technology and the ability to do that kind of stuff, sure, it's easier, but it's awesome. [00:02:24] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:02:24] Speaker B: And I encourage anybody to go out and play it. It's, it's way more, it's got way more stuff than say the, Even turtles. Yeah, yeah. Just the stuff that they, they can do with their powers and the different, you know, the different stuff that they've done. So it's, it's very, it's very cool. And I unlocked my first character just the other day, so. [00:02:44] Speaker A: Nice. Don't spoil though. You can probably get different ones, I would assume. [00:02:48] Speaker B: I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. I'm Just playing. Then I got Metroid prime remaster. [00:02:55] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:02:56] Speaker B: For my wife. And I'm enjoying that. I gotta. I gotta put some time into that. I Watched Fallout Season 2, Episode 1 the other night since it came out. Supposed to come on my birthday. Came out the day before, but I watched it on my birthday night, and it was awesome. [00:03:14] Speaker A: Okay, good. [00:03:15] Speaker B: It's like I and I. When I watched the recap, I'm like, what? I forgot half this happened. [00:03:21] Speaker A: So. Yeah, a lot happens in that show. Dude. [00:03:25] Speaker B: I was like, wait, I know. I watched all eight episodes. So I'm gonna. I'm gonna. You know, I'm going on vacation, so I'm gonna. I'm gonna rewatch it, I think, on the plane. [00:03:32] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:32] Speaker B: Just get caught up again and get refreshed. But yeah, it's awesome. Going to the new Vegas setting. So. [00:03:38] Speaker A: Hell yeah. Hell, yeah. [00:03:40] Speaker B: Good times. But yeah, that's it. That's really it. I've been so busy with work and school and soccer and all that good stuff, so trying to squeeze in the geekly stuff. [00:03:50] Speaker A: You're doing it. You've. Mission accomplished. [00:03:55] Speaker B: Exactly. Exactly. But you're all here to listen to some news. So let's get into the Marvel. The Marvel. The marvelous Marvel stuff. First up with Avatar, Fire and Ash. I was gonna say Fire and Ice, but something totally different. We're getting these Doom Avengers, Doomsday teasers, and there's four of them in total. There's a. I don't want to spoil. But yeah, there's four of them in total if you haven't been spoiled by the Internet. So. But you can only watch them exclusively in theaters by seeing Avatar, Fire and Ice. And I don't know how random it is, so you might have to go see it at least 12 times to see all four trailers. [00:04:34] Speaker A: Let me. [00:04:36] Speaker B: I did watch one of them. It's a very short teaser. And it's. I mean, I wish that Marvel would just put these out. It's just. It would be smarter to do that. I don't care. Like the draw to try to. They will. And it's. It would be smart to do it so that, you know, not everybody can go forward to go see the movies around the holidays. So not. Especially not four times, but. And then also we got a little Happy Birthday message to Robert Downey Jr. From the Russo Brothers. [00:05:08] Speaker A: Yes. [00:05:09] Speaker B: And they wanted us to wish him happy birthday on the show. [00:05:12] Speaker A: They threw out this card that they sent him, and there's a lot of just teaser stuff in it. So it's Kind of neat. Like you got Thanos's helmet on the chair. You got the Infinity Stones. You've got some Iron man stuff, Avengers stuff. So it's just, you know, it's kind of. If you want to go check it out on Instagram, it's chock full of little Easter eggs. He's wearing like a 3,000 necklace. So. Yeah, it's just. How much of this plays into the movie? I don't know. Or if it's just like a neat little thing. But I just thought it was kind of cool. [00:05:48] Speaker B: Apparently Pennywise is in the movie. [00:05:50] Speaker A: I don't know. Yeah, there is a lot of red floating balloons. [00:05:56] Speaker B: Cool. Yeah. You know, we're another. Another birthday present for me next year is Doomsday comes out. My birthday. [00:06:03] Speaker A: Yes. Yes. Heck yeah, man. [00:06:05] Speaker B: Big movies and the return of one of my favorite characters. So can't wait. Can't wait. Next up, the Spider man noir TV show starring Nicholas Cage, who also did the voice of Spider Man. Door in the. Across the spider verse. They've. They've come out and said straight up that he is Ben Reilly and he's not Peter Parker. So that's clarifying the character from this show. [00:06:31] Speaker A: Yeah, that's. That will be very interesting, see how this all plays out. See this live action. When's the last time we had a live action Spider Man TV show? The Japanese one just going to say. Yeah. So it's gonna be very, very. Which has a very cool hot toy, by the way. It's gonna be very interesting to see how this all plays out on in live action. Because Sony doesn't have the best track record with their superheroes in live action. [00:07:07] Speaker B: No, that's another thing. I was geeking out. I didn't finish Craven because I turned it off because I got. I fell asleep. Was it. It's okay so far. [00:07:16] Speaker A: Okay. [00:07:17] Speaker B: It's action packed and it's. There's some like, holy moments. So it's okay. It's cool so far. And I'm just like, how the hell they get Russell Crowe to do this? [00:07:25] Speaker A: I. I see this. I think I'm really gonna enjoy it because I like Aaron Taylor Johnson. I don't mind Russell Crowe. I don't care. Like, I just like. You could have called it, you know, the Hunter. Killer environmental this man. And I would have watched him in that movie. Like, think about it. The Jason Statham's in the Beekeeper. [00:07:46] Speaker B: Right? [00:07:47] Speaker A: Okay. [00:07:49] Speaker B: That movie is great, though. [00:07:51] Speaker A: It's actually really good. You know what? It. It is good. It's got I can't remember who directed it, but it was like, oh, it's. [00:07:58] Speaker B: A good director too. [00:07:59] Speaker A: And it's like, oh, it was a good movie. [00:08:01] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay. All right, well, I'll have to check it out. Yeah. What was also very good was the first season of Marvel Zombies Hell yeah. Animated series put out by Marvel and a animated style that they've been doing. And so now there's talks of season two, which is a no brainer. [00:08:19] Speaker A: Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. It's one of the places where they really have been shining. And the Marvel zombie stuff, it was a really smart way that they did it. And I loved like every second of it. I really enjoyed it. [00:08:37] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. It just, It's. I like that, the what if idea. I mean, it's a spin off of what if anyways. But what if stuff is fun and it's just a totally different take on the Marvel Zombies world and using all those MCU characters. So. Good stuff. [00:08:52] Speaker A: Yeah, good stuff for sure. [00:08:54] Speaker B: Coming up in March, the new solicitations are dropping. So we got two, two anticipated series. First one is a new Alias series just in time for. For the return of Jessica Jones in Daredevil season two. But we got Alias Red Band, a five issue series from Sam Humphries and Gerardo Borges. [00:09:15] Speaker A: And a heck of a cover from David Mack who's doing the covers, which is just insane. You know, I've always liked Jessica Jones. I. I like when Bendis did the Alias series. So cool. I like Sam Humphries. [00:09:31] Speaker B: Yeah, for sure. Yeah. And then also the Century, who people have been begging for a new series from. [00:09:37] Speaker A: Interesting. [00:09:38] Speaker B: A big entry into the MCU in Thunderbolts. I love the Sentry. He's a great character. And so we'd be getting a four issue limited series from co creator Paul Jenkins and artist Christian Rosado, also launching in March. [00:09:53] Speaker A: Okay, cool. Yeah. See somebody do something with this character. [00:10:01] Speaker B: They are right here. [00:10:03] Speaker A: Yeah, no, I know. That's what I mean. Like, let's see it. Let's. Let's see what you decide to do with it. And if they're gonna take it, the MCU spin or. You know what I mean, like, see how they're deciding to handle it. [00:10:14] Speaker B: I thought the MCU did a good job with the Century. I did too. [00:10:17] Speaker A: I did too. So, yeah, I'll be curious. [00:10:22] Speaker B: Absolutely. Absolutely. Movie. So we got his little bridge into dc, but we got another one of those DC Marvel crossovers coming up and it's a big one. Yeah. Spider man and Superman. It's gonna drop in March and it is packed with some amazing creators and stories and whatnot. Across Superman mythos and Spider man mythos, we got anywhere from Tom King and Jim Lee, Matt Fraction, Steve Leiber, Steve Sean Murphy, Gail Simone, Christopher Priest, Rucka Nicola Scott Lamir, all of it. So this is an extra thick episode issue because we just got the last, last time we got the Batman, Deadpool, and they had that backup with like Green Arrow and, and somebody. I forgot what it was, but. And then there was a couple ones online where it was like Fantastic Four and the Flash or something. And. Yeah, like they did a couple of digital ones, so. Which I haven't checked out yet, which I want to. But yeah, this is cool. This is going to print in March. [00:11:26] Speaker A: Yeah, the, the, the people that they've got. It's really great. You know what I mean? Just, just insane to see what we're going to be getting with these one shots. So I'm really excited to see how they turn out. Can't wait. [00:11:40] Speaker B: Yeah. On that pre order. All right, so jumping over the pond. Dc, this is, this is bigger than just dc, but it is going to heavily affect DC in some way. You all know about this WB sale that's happening. So Netflix put in that 85 billion billion with a B dollar bid for it and then had the deal. And then Paramount tried to help hostile take over it like Lex Luthor style and, you know, with some evil, evil beings backing them and whatnot. So they, they totally failed. Which is good because I, I hate Paramount and I hate, you know, evil people. So pretty happy. Except the fact that Netflix isn't really that big at theater stuff and hopefully they can learn something about theater, theater releases. Because WB is one of the biggest, if not the biggest movie company. So I'm just, it's, it's a little iffy and I like Netflix. But you and I have had these discussions. What are your thoughts? [00:12:49] Speaker A: Yeah, I think, you know, big corporation mergers like this, you know what I mean, are hard to, to see, like what, how it's going to all turn out. Hopefully, you know, everything is fine and people keep their jobs like James Gunn, because D.C. has really been doing a great job with fleshing out that universe. But Netflix could straight up come up. You know, we just want to replace all of it with our own people. And, you know, there's a Harry Potter show like, that's going like, again, Netflix could go and wipe it all out. Just kind of like Disney came in to a lesser extent and like wiped out well, the Bat Woman or Batgirl movie, like that Acme movie, you know what I mean? Like, they wiped out a bunch of discovery. [00:13:46] Speaker B: Yeah, come over. [00:13:47] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was discovery. So, like, yeah, in that deal, we lost Michael Keaton playing Batman again, and probably what could have been, like, Brendan Fraser's in that movie. I have to think that that movie had some value, you know, I mean, at least to the people who worked on it. So that's where the bad side of it comes from. So, I don't know. We're just gonna have to see how it shakes out, and hopefully they don't. All the good work that James Gunn's been doing right now at DC and then let alone all the, like, Lord of the Rings and, you know, they've got some heavy Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and all of the D.C. slate alone, let alone all the other things that they're just getting. It's gonna be wild. [00:14:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, exactly. There's a lot of. There's a lot of stakes in this, and, you know, we'll see how it's handled in the long run. So. But for now, at least, we still are getting Supergirl. And, yeah, I did like that trailer. That trailer was a lot of fun. It's. It's great to see it. It's Supergirl. Woman of Tomorrow is an awesome comic by Tom King. If you haven't read it and you like True Grit in space, go check it out, because they're adapting it to some, you know, some end. And we're getting Jason. Jason Momoa in the role he's born to play. So we got a little tease at our Lobo. But, you know, I like. I like the feel of that trailer. I like the direction they're going with Supergirl. It's definitely, you know, it's. It's. It's different than what we've seen before. That's what we want, you know, sticking to the values of the character. But they're bringing it to a new age. Bringing it. Like, you can't do the same thing all the time. [00:15:30] Speaker A: Yeah. And I think that's one big thing is, like, what makes her different, you know, than him. And especially for a new generation who's never seen the Helen Slater movie, like, which is really the only other, you know, other than Melissa Ben. I can never say her last name. Benoit, who did Fantastic. Sure love her on that show. Really do. But, like, yeah, this is going to be, for all intents and purposes, Supergirl. And so let's just kind of see how this Shakes up at the trailer. Fits the comic book tone and it. [00:16:06] Speaker B: Looked awesome for sure. Then also, we got this big HBO sizzle reel for 2026 and everything that's coming. And within it we have a first look at Lanterns. And you know what, man, it was a cool little clip. And I'm really excited for this show. This, this true detective esque take on the Green Lanterns. What they did in this, just this little like, learn to fly thing with, with Stuart and Jordan. So there's a lot of, there's a lot of rumors about what's going to happen in this, in this show, what's going to happen with Hal Jordan and like, like, you know, but we will see as time goes. But I'm really looking forward to the show. [00:16:49] Speaker A: Yeah, I. Here's the thing. At some point the Justice League will come back together if Netflix doesn't screw it over. And I like this approach of we're going to have a long time with these Lanterns as opposed to even Superman. You know what I mean? Like, long form storytelling means like we're going to learn more about him than we probably will about the other big ones. So it's going to be really interesting to see how they develop the Lanterns compared to Superman and Batman and Wonder Woman and the other guys. [00:17:25] Speaker B: Well, that's the thing too, right? So we have James Gunn's ideas. Like let's, let's run with Justice League Unlimited. Let's run with the basis of I really like the greatest Justice League thing ever made. And that's, and that's what you're seeing already happening. So it's like Jell. Jordan's old, older. Right. And he's, he's teaching John Stewart. We already have Guy Gardner, you know, when Nathan Fillian shows up, you know, has already show up on Peacemaker is going to show up in this show. It's like he's crafting this, he's crafting this whole universe. We're getting these different like shows and these field like with different tones and whatnot. So I'm a big, big Green Lantern fan. So I'm really excited to see them do something really good. Like something with it. Yep. Yeah. And just do it. Right. So. And I love John Stewart. He's one of my favorite characters. So next up, the next animated film in the D.C. library is going to be Nightfall. They've been talking about this for a while, but it's finally happening. And. And you know what? This is. I can't wait to watch this. I love Nightfall. It's an awesome it's an awesome, awesome story with the breaking of the bat and Badass Bane and all of that stuff. So it's coming. It's coming soon, so can't wait. [00:18:47] Speaker A: Yeah. Three parts. Bring It On. [00:18:52] Speaker B: Which makes sense. I mean, it does. It was. [00:18:56] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:18:56] Speaker B: Was it Nightfall, Night Quest and Night's End. So it's like. Yeah, they do the whole thing. It'll be interesting. So it'll be very cool. [00:19:06] Speaker A: Very. Bring it on. [00:19:08] Speaker B: And then we got all in Act 2, also now known as Next Level. Like I said, they just dropped a bunch of solicitations. We're getting a Lobo series, which makes sense, but Lobo coming out on the big screen. Batwoman and Deathstroke is getting its own series once again. Can't wait to be getting that. But Scotty Young is on the. The Lobo series, which is awesome. [00:19:33] Speaker A: That's. [00:19:33] Speaker B: So that should be wonky and fun. And I also heard there's a new Teen Titans book coming out. It's the first one in several years since we've had a Teen Titans book. So a lot of good stuff coming out. So, you know, Jeff Leia is out. Rua. These names are just coming up again, right? Scotty Young, like I said, Kyle, Higgins, Williamson, like the whole crew. The whole crew is here to make. Make Everybody happy. Because DC dominated the comics in 2025, dominated destroyed Marvel in sales. And I love it. So, not that I'm not Marvel fan, but DC Comics is all awesome. So I'm really excited for this next act. And then I pretty sure we put this on the. On the show at the same time, because I want to put it on the show and it was already there. But Creature Commandos is going to be streaming free on YouTube now. Here's the catch. It's live, so you gotta catch it as it's being aired. So. [00:20:32] Speaker A: Right. [00:20:32] Speaker B: You should probably leave a link in here so people can see what the dates are and when to catch it. Because Creature Commandos is an amazing show. First entry in the new dcu. Written and directed. Right. I guess you can direct animated series. James Gunn. It's straight up James. [00:20:50] Speaker A: He wrote them. I don't think you know how it's like always like J. Olivia or whatever. [00:20:56] Speaker B: Who does. [00:20:58] Speaker A: Animated stuff. So I don't know if he directed it, but yeah, it's. Creature Commandos man is like one of the best TV shows I saw this year for sure. Like, there's a lot has heart. Like, it's just a real. Like, I felt emotional. Yeah, I love that show. I made my Sister watched and she really liked it too, because she was like, oh, you know, I started Peacemaker and like, I kind of want to watch. And I was like, how far do you want to go down this rabbit hole right now? [00:21:28] Speaker B: All the way down. [00:21:29] Speaker A: But she did. She. Yeah, she's good about that. So she. She went down. But yeah, even she like Creature Commando. So check it out while you can. [00:21:39] Speaker B: Yeah. Or just get an hbo. Or get hbo. Yeah. [00:21:42] Speaker A: Because it's worth it. [00:21:43] Speaker B: Yeah. Let's jump over that galaxy far, far away. I. I vividly remember when we went to Star wars celebration for the 40th anniversary of Star Wars. [00:21:54] Speaker A: I know. I was thinking about that coming up. [00:21:57] Speaker B: Couple years, decade later. We're almost in the 50s. [00:22:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:22:01] Speaker B: Some crazy stuff. It was funny because it. We just had my family over for our chili holiday party, and I was explaining to my nephew about how the VHS he has are not the original Star wars movies. So. And so I was, I was. He. I let him borrow the despecialized DVDs that your. Your cousin made. Made me. [00:22:22] Speaker A: And nice. [00:22:24] Speaker B: And I was like, no, you need to check this out. And so in theaters for the 50th anniversary in 2027, a new hope is coming back in its original cut. Which is awesome. An awesome, awesome idea. [00:22:40] Speaker A: That's interesting. Okay. [00:22:44] Speaker B: De Specialized. All right. Sure. [00:22:48] Speaker A: And Disney, any way to keep making their money back? Yeah. [00:22:55] Speaker B: I mean, but honestly, this is. This is a smart idea. And Lucas has all the rights to tinker with his. His baby all he wants. But at the. In the end of the day, for us who grew up on this trilogy, and we were youngins, right? Younglings, when. When this, when these movies were just hitting like VHS, like we were still like, I was born in 80. Right. So it's like, it's really funny to hear, like, oh, the force awakens turns 10 this year or whatever, you know, next year or whatever it is, and it just makes me feel really old. So yes, 2016 is the force Awakens. [00:23:39] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:23:39] Speaker B: And that. Putting that in perspective, I'm ready to see the original Star wars theaters again. So without that Jabba scene. Don't need it. [00:23:51] Speaker A: He's a wonderful human being, Chris. All right, yeah, I get it. No, I'll go see it. [00:23:57] Speaker B: All right. [00:23:57] Speaker A: Don't twist my arm at all. So. [00:24:01] Speaker B: We have another look at Galactic Racer, which drops pretty soon if it's hasn't dropped already. Actually, this game takes place after the fall of the Empire and it's. Oh, yeah, it drops in 2026. [00:24:16] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:24:17] Speaker B: And so the unsanctioned racing circuit is bored lawless in Daughter Rim, so supposedly. So Bulba returns. Somehow he's not dead. And. And he doesn't die. He's just so. [00:24:34] Speaker A: Yeah, I finally can dust off my Sebabel this T shirt. [00:24:38] Speaker B: That's right. That's right. And then next up, out of left field comes Fate of the Old Republic. The game you didn't expect was coming, but, hey, guess what? You thought they're gonna remake Nights. You Republic. You thought they're gonna remake Knights Real Republic 2? Nope. No, there's a. There's a new entry coming to that world. Single player rpg. Nobody knows where it's set. We just got a little cinematic trailer and everybody just wet themselves, so. [00:25:11] Speaker A: And Casey Hudson, who directed the games, came back exactly. [00:25:17] Speaker B: Like, it's Exactly. [00:25:20] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:25:21] Speaker B: No, I can't believe they were able to keep that under wraps. Honestly, that is just insane to me. So. Yeah, look forward to that. And last up in Star Wars News, before we get Mall Shadow Lord, the new animated series, we're gonna be getting a. A comic which is going to serve as a prequel to it. It'll be even more from the world of Darth Maul. So next year we get the show. And Shayla Mole will be written by Ben Benjamin Percy with art by Medic Musov. Really good job. That name. [00:25:59] Speaker A: So h. Interesting. All right, yeah, sure. Let's check this out and see how that all comes together. [00:26:09] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, I'm sure it leads into like Crimson dawn, you know, I would hope so. Probably his appearances solo, right? And like, yeah, that happened. So. Yeah, I. I want to know. Honestly, man, it's like Darth Maul is a cool character. [00:26:24] Speaker A: I'm fine with this. I'm fine with this. I mean, but like, I'm. It's just, you know, I'll always say this. [00:26:32] Speaker B: We know, Casey. [00:26:33] Speaker A: All right, Just go on. I'm done. [00:26:36] Speaker B: The listeners know. [00:26:37] Speaker A: All right. [00:26:38] Speaker B: Stop making the world smaller. [00:26:40] Speaker A: I don't even have to say it. That needs to be my Next. The next 10 years. That's my new closing. Instead of go read your comics. It is. Stop making the world smaller. [00:26:56] Speaker B: Oh, man. [00:26:57] Speaker A: Figured it out at the end of 2020, at the end of our 10 year anniversary episode. New new calling tag or whatever the budgie call those things. [00:27:07] Speaker B: Sounds good. Signature. Anyways, we're going to crowdsource right now. And if you're ready to go to Thundara and. And become a Thundercats, guess what? Dynamite Toys and Games has the Thundercats rpg. It's Here. It's here. Casey. [00:27:30] Speaker A: Thunder. Thunder. Thunder. Go. [00:27:35] Speaker B: So, yeah, you can play as your favorite Thunderian in an awesome paper and pencil role playing game. Right now it's well over its budget or goal. 1900 dollars. It's at $2,000. [00:27:47] Speaker A: Disgusting. [00:27:49] Speaker B: So of course we'll leave the link in there. So. Yeah. Hey, cool idea. [00:27:56] Speaker A: Yeah. You know, Dynamite keeps cranking them out these, these role playing games. I love it because people have been doing it homebrew style for a long time and I'm absolutely fine with it. You know, as someone who played the 5e Star Wars 5e. But when they're officially sanctioned, then it just makes it easier, you know what I mean? Because they give you more like material to go off of. So. Yeah, that's pretty awesome. [00:28:25] Speaker B: Cool, cool. And so, Casey, what. What time is it? [00:28:32] Speaker A: It's time for the pursuit of plastic. [00:28:37] Speaker B: All right, so let's see. That's what's. What's first up in action figure news and toy news. Oh, a blue and gray Batman hot toy. What. What is this? This is Michael Keaton from the Flash movie in blue and gray. The hell is this? [00:28:55] Speaker A: It's horrible. It's, you know, it, it just depends. Like the faces are those derpy faces. So you know what I mean? Like, it's so kind of ridiculous in that way. But you also get a black and gray or, sorry, know the blue and gray, which a lot of people have been craving that for a very long time. [00:29:20] Speaker B: Yeah. If we don't get that for the dcu, I'd be really surprised. [00:29:25] Speaker A: Yeah, that's just it, right? [00:29:26] Speaker B: I'd be surprised. And even James Gunn talks about it all the time. So. Yeah, I mean, this is cool. I'm not, not spending 300 something dollars. Cool. But it looks all right. Much better than this next thing. Now Mezco 112 decided to make a shredder figure. And honestly, I hate looks like. I don't know, I just hate it. It's so. The costume looks. It just doesn't look like 115 figure to me. Like I want to pay for this is Mezco, like running out of funds and I like losing ips. And they have to make this shredder because the Casey Jones was cool. The Turtles were all right. [00:30:26] Speaker A: This, I like the Turtles, man. [00:30:29] Speaker B: This is horrible. This is horrible. [00:30:32] Speaker A: This actually looks like it's more made from like the Mirage. [00:30:38] Speaker B: Yeah, they're. They're doing like a little bit of each, right? So. Yeah. [00:30:44] Speaker A: Yeah. Because the Turtles are a little bit more of The Mirage, I guess so. [00:30:48] Speaker B: Is the Casey Jones. [00:30:49] Speaker A: You know, honestly, I guess if you say it like that, it really is more comic book accurate. If you're going from the original comic book book, it doesn't mean that it looks good. It just means that, like, that's what it looks like. [00:31:05] Speaker B: And then you should buy the NECA one, because I have that Neo one and it's awesome. [00:31:10] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:31:12] Speaker B: Quarter the price. Yeah, yeah. [00:31:14] Speaker A: NECA knows what they're doing. [00:31:16] Speaker B: Like, I. I just is like, I love the Shredder. And I was just like, this looks like I got out of a Chinese factory. So. [00:31:24] Speaker A: So. [00:31:24] Speaker B: Or it was like one of those ones you find on the side of the street in the Chinese factory and they're sold off Teu or whatever. So this is, this is the Teemo version of the Shredder that should have been made. Anyways, anyways, I think this is a good point to go to commercial after making fun of these action figures. We'll be right back with the rest of t. DFAT Comics is the publishing. [00:31:54] Speaker A: Branch of don'tforgetatowel.com, the only place to travel geekly. And we're gonna get right into comic book news because you should always read your comics, as Casey says, or said. This year, Masters of the Universe is going to get an ongoing series because the Masters of the Universe movie is on its way And I can't wait. And it's been. I don't even, I don't know if Master Universe has ever had an ongoing series in a long time. Since Marvel even. I don't even know. It's crazy. [00:33:53] Speaker A: It did, it did, didn't it? With, like, Wilds. It's not Wild Storm. But there, There was a series. There was a series. [00:34:03] Speaker B: Maybe. [00:34:04] Speaker A: Go on, go on, go on, go on. [00:34:05] Speaker B: I will, I will. Anyways, the Dark Force has confirmed that it's called Masters in the Universe. The. So. Oh, this is the current. Sorry. The sort of flaws will evolve into this new ongoing title called Heman and the Masters of the Universe. And you know what? Tim Sealy's on it. [00:34:25] Speaker A: Of course he is. [00:34:25] Speaker B: Art by. Yeah, exactly. Riley Brown, Jim Charlama Papadis and Litterer and World Design. I think that's an AI being. Anyways, hey, man, I. Whatever. Masters of the Universe is about to get crazy in 2026. [00:34:46] Speaker A: Yeah, just show us a trailer and then. Yeah, you know, hopefully this comic book is good. [00:34:51] Speaker B: Yeah, that's, I mean, the comic. Comics has always been pretty good. Yeah, I've enjoyed what they've put out, but I've heard such great things about this movie, but we haven't seen anything from it. Such rave reviews and, and positive propaganda, as they call it. So let the, Let the fans decide. [00:35:09] Speaker A: Can't wait. [00:35:10] Speaker B: Yeah, can't wait. Next up, Far Cry. We're still in comics. Predator Bloodshed, Another great comic from Marvel. If you loved something called Predator Badlands, yes, You'll probably love Predator Bloodshed number one. It's gonna drop in February from Jordan Morris with art by Roland Boshi. Yeah, I, I, I'm just. Predator Bandlands changed everything for the Predator franchise. And I, I can't wait to see what comes next because it just is totally open the gate to everything. That sequel, more comics, hopefully another animated series. Just give it, Give it all to us. I'm ready. [00:36:13] Speaker A: That's it. Yeah, that's. Heck yeah. Killer of Killers is arguably the best movie that's come out this year. Like if, hey, if someone told me that was their favorite movie of the year, I'd go, well, all right. Can't disagree with you. Not saying I have no bad things to say about it. So, yeah, I love it. More Predator. And this comic sounds awesome. [00:36:40] Speaker B: Something else we're getting more of is more Monstervers with the new Godzilla. Kong will be coming sooner than later. Yeah, we'll be talking about Legacy of Monsters in a little bit here, but we're Getting Escape from Skull island, which is gonna be a sequel to guess what? Skull Island. So I will read this from Titan comics with Simon Furman and defense friend Christopher Jones. [00:37:12] Speaker A: Heck yeah. Yeah. I. You know, I love the monsterverse. Definitely love Skull Island. Would be happy to see more of it. So bring it on. [00:37:23] Speaker B: Yeah. Skull island is a ridiculously violent movie. [00:37:28] Speaker A: And it's great. [00:37:29] Speaker B: It's. It's crazy how much it's kind of evolved into like more family friendly features, which is good. They're fine. They're fun and. But Skull island, when you like, like, I'm like, I don't think I tell my nephew. I don't think you should watch this yet. Still too young to watch this movie. It's awesome. I love that movie. [00:37:48] Speaker A: It sure is. [00:37:50] Speaker B: Anyways, jumping over TV and streaming news, we have King Sorrow, which is going to be by Joe Hill. We'll be adapting an unpublished novella and it's going to be from Sony. It's an adaptation. And let's see. What is it about? You have no idea. No details are available at this time. So Arthur Oakes is a reader, a dreamer, and a student at Rackland College, Maine. Of course. Renowned for its frosty winners, exceptional library and beautiful buildings. But is ideal in a burgeoning romance with wind Underfoot is shattered when a local drug dealer and her partner corner him into one of the worst crimes he can imagine. Stealing rare books from the college library. [00:38:38] Speaker A: Well, that's always rough. Yeah. Right. Yeah. I mean, listen, it's Joe Hill. There's dragons in it. I don't know if there's anything else I need to know other than I'll. I'll end up watching. [00:38:53] Speaker B: Yes. Yes. That's. Stephen King wrote a strange horror like fantasy novel as well about dragons that I have. Huh. Interesting. Anyways, yeah. Far Cry Nolly and Rob Mack on fx. That's all you need to say. Sure. That's it. No Hawley, who only made every alien alien fan streams come true this year. Yeah. Yeah. So we'll be getting a Far Cry TV series. And Far Cry is such a wacky game series that who knows? Who knows what? Where this even goes. [00:39:38] Speaker A: Huh? Yeah. This. That's gonna be really interesting because he's gonna star in it too. So I would imagine it'll be kind of serious since it's no Holly. But that's a. That's a curious pairing of the two of them. And especially like Far Cry, it's really like drop somebody on a remote place and have him have to try to survive. You know. So, like, I know Holly can take that idea and do a million different things with it. [00:40:10] Speaker B: So I'm. [00:40:11] Speaker A: I'm curious as to how this is going to turn out. [00:40:14] Speaker B: For sure. For sure. All right, we mentioned Monarch, so there's two things here. First, we're getting a prequel series set in the Legacy of Monsters world. And because, like, you, you haven't watched the show, have you? No, I really. What can I say here? Wyatt Russell's returning for this show. So the cool thing about. About the Legacy monster show in the first place is, like, Wyatt Russell plays the same character as Kurt Russell, and they play in different timelines, and it's a great show. And you need to watch season one. [00:40:49] Speaker A: Yes, I do. [00:40:50] Speaker B: And so I won't go into this much, but I'm excited for this because this is just showing how much this world is going to keep growing when it was almost dead. And it's really exciting because I think diving deeper into, like, the history of Monarch is a good idea as you move forward with the movies and. And the TV show in a way. In a way I won't. I can't remember for you. But also, we just. We got our first Legacy of Monster Season 2 teaser, and it drops in February, and it's supposed to be even more Kaiju heavy this season. [00:41:27] Speaker A: This is insane. Yeah. Kong is in season two. This is insane. [00:41:32] Speaker B: Welcome to your spoiler. Which is. Which is the end of the first season when you realize. [00:41:39] Speaker A: That. [00:41:40] Speaker B: So. [00:41:40] Speaker A: Yeah. All right. Bring it. Bring it on. I didn't realize Matt Shackman from WandaVision was on that show, so that's pretty cool. [00:41:50] Speaker B: It's good stuff. Turn your Apple TV on if it's not on, because I'll be going for that second trial in February once it airs. But guess what? There's more Godzilla. [00:42:04] Speaker A: Oh, gosh. [00:42:05] Speaker B: Even. Even more. Oh, yeah. Toho has revealed there's a new Godzilla anime series coming our way. Oh, yeah. So this is funny because this is like a little bit Kaiju number eight. A little bit the. I think it's called Godzilla Dead Zone or something like that. The comic that they just did where it's like this. [00:42:30] Speaker A: This guy's like a turn into different Godzilla things. Yeah. [00:42:36] Speaker B: So this is wild. Okay, so, yeah, we'll see what this is. It was first revealed, actually, at the anime festival, Asia Singapore Festival, and looks like this is coming sooner than later. Got there was that there was a show on Netflix as well, which is Godzilla Anime, which was fun, too. I like that. I forgot what that was called. Singular Pointer not the movies. There was a series one too, which is fun to watch, but then they never did anything with it, so this is not that. Okay, so look forward to that. [00:43:14] Speaker A: I do. [00:43:15] Speaker B: Good, good. And then go watch Legacy of Monsters. We are going to be getting a grim adult animated series at Netflix based on the boom comic from Elgo and Miles Millar. What do you know? Yeah, this is cool. [00:43:36] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, These are the guys who did Wednesday. And so, yeah, they just are adapting this comic book, which is pretty cool and comes to Netflix. Another spooky TV show. Kind of like how they're doing with. With Wednesday over there. [00:43:56] Speaker B: Oh, this is also. Okay, so the Jennifer U. Nelson who is a supervising director for Love, Death and Robots. [00:44:02] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, exactly. [00:44:05] Speaker B: Okay. I like Grim Fairy Tales. [00:44:09] Speaker A: Why not? [00:44:12] Speaker B: Now that I turned my Netflix back on, I feel good. [00:44:15] Speaker A: You need to be watching One Piece and nothing else. [00:44:20] Speaker B: Yeah, and everything else I haven't watched on Netflix in the last three years. [00:44:23] Speaker A: I know. [00:44:24] Speaker B: I shut off. I shut off that garbage Paramount Network. So I gotta go. Star Trek. [00:44:30] Speaker A: You gotta pirate it because you can't not watch. It's really good. [00:44:34] Speaker B: What? [00:44:36] Speaker A: Star Trek. [00:44:37] Speaker B: No, I. I know. I needed. I'm not paying for. I'm not paying those idiots that. [00:44:42] Speaker A: No, I'm saying, like. But Star Trek is good still. [00:44:45] Speaker B: I know it is. I know it is. Yeah, I know. I wish they would just give it up. I wish I would give it to somebody who actually believes in peace and prosperity and going where no man has gone before. So anyways, next up, we are getting a Warriors of Tomorrow. Now, Warriors Tomorrow is a. It's. It's a toy line from Argentina and it's been acquired by Black Mandela for an animated series adaptation. Now, I was gonna put this in Pursuit of Plastic, but, yeah, Guerrero's del Manana, it's a. It's a 1980s toy line. I. It sounds semi familiar to me, but it was kind of developed to compete with Masters of the Universe, and so somehow it has. Is getting its own animated series. [00:45:46] Speaker A: Sure. Yeah. Give. If you have a toy line, make a cartoon. If you have a cartoon, make a toy line. [00:45:54] Speaker B: Right. The 80s are back. [00:45:57] Speaker A: That's it. [00:46:00] Speaker B: Next up, we have Young Sherlock. Did you watch this trailer? [00:46:05] Speaker A: I did. And yeah, it looks like Guy Ritchie is back at the Sherlock. [00:46:13] Speaker B: Yes. In a much different way. [00:46:15] Speaker A: You know this. [00:46:17] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, go ahead. [00:46:20] Speaker A: No, no, no. It just. You know what it makes me is I really missed young James Bond or James Bond Jr. And so, like, just bring it to me. [00:46:31] Speaker B: That's what Amazon should hire Kyrie she to do is a young James Bond show. [00:46:35] Speaker A: Yeah, they should be cool and maybe. [00:46:37] Speaker B: They will after this. Yeah, this is, I mean, this is straight up Guy Ritchie. When you watch this trailer. Yeah. I mean, it's just, it's great. My wife saw part of it and was like, oh, need to watch this. Like, for sure, for sure. [00:46:52] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:46:55] Speaker B: Next up, we have since Fallout season two is here, we. You watch every Wednesday on Amazon, but season three has been confirmed and it's kind of like, I don't know how long we gotta wait between shows, but I wish they would get on these things faster. Apparently starts filming this summer. So I would love to see shows come out once a year. And that's a kind of. I think they should be aiming for that. It's this two year gap. Like when I watched Peacemaker, I didn't realize it come out in 2022. It's been three years since Peacemaker. It's crazy. Then again, we're in a time warp where time seems like just yesterday was, you know, 1985. [00:47:36] Speaker A: Yeah. I think Fallout actually did come out last year. So they're sticking to it. The thing is, is that, yeah, if they go and shoot next year, they're counting this as the 25, 26. So we won't get it again until 27. [00:47:54] Speaker B: That's a good point. [00:47:55] Speaker A: But to your point. Yeah, a lot of shows, like, they take a long time. You know, Game of Thrones usually always would, but it just depends like Net or HBO has always been long, like always since the beginning of hbo. So I never really cared about it. But when you're taking years between seasons now in this landscape where there is no other choice, like there's so many choices. It's kind of like, well, if I forgot about you, I don't know if I want to go back. [00:48:25] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, I don't know. I will. Yeah. It has to be a good show, right. It has to keep the hype going. But speaking of hype, where the hell is Fallout 5? Is the question everybody on when they're just re releasing the same games without even doing any Skyrim stuff to these games. But whatever reason they have to put out statues and other like whatever fallout. Fallout 5 will align with the show. That's. That's the news. And that is smart as hell. Smart as hell. [00:49:01] Speaker A: Okay. That is smart. [00:49:03] Speaker B: Absolutely. Very smart. Last up in TV news, this I just saw randomly and I'm a big fan of any kind of noir, LA Noir, 1950s Hollywood detective series. We're Getting a. A show from Kurt Sutter. Noir crime drama series for mgm. Plus, there's not a lot of details for it, but it's going to be about a private investigator dealing with crime and dirty cops in the shadow of glamorous Hollywood. And I can't fucking wait. [00:49:36] Speaker A: So it's interesting. So it's set in the 50s. Yeah, that's interesting. Okay. Yeah, yeah, bring it to me. I mean, I. I remember that La Noire game. Like, that was a sweet game. [00:49:49] Speaker B: It is a sweet game. [00:49:50] Speaker A: Yeah. So, yeah, I'm. I'm down. Bring it on. [00:49:54] Speaker B: Awesome. Can't wait. Jumping over to movies. Another Exorcist movie is on its way, this time with Scarlett Johansson. [00:50:06] Speaker A: Well, listen, even more important than that, it's Mike Flanagan, so. Yeah, ScarJo. I've always loved ScarJo. She can do whatever the hell she wants and she makes the most money of any woman in Hollywood, so. [00:50:20] Speaker B: For sure. [00:50:21] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm. I'm fine with that. Sounds like a good pairing. [00:50:27] Speaker B: Yeah. No, for sure. Mike Flanagan does things right and. [00:50:30] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:50:31] Speaker B: I mean, I don't know. Did you watch that? I guess. The Ex is different, though. Like, there was an exorcism movie with Russell Crowe that I tried to watch recently. The most recent, like, exorcism movie. That was not great. [00:50:45] Speaker A: The Pope's Exorcist. I've heard it's okay. [00:50:49] Speaker B: So. [00:50:49] Speaker A: So I avoided it. Yeah. [00:50:51] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't know. We'll see. And then Jacoby. Jacoby Jupy is a kid and he's gonna be in it. [00:50:59] Speaker A: Yeah. Yep. [00:51:01] Speaker B: Kids in it. [00:51:02] Speaker A: Yep. He's. Yeah, exactly. He's been in Hamnet. Hamnet's probably gonna win movie of the year this year, and. Which is great for me because Chloe Zhao directed it. She won for Nomadland, and she directed that Buffy pilot, which means maybe we'll get the full series of Buffy because of her Oscar win. So. I don't know. I haven't seen Hamnet yet. I probably will. But more importantly, more Buffy. [00:51:30] Speaker B: Excellent. Excellent. Right now, in IMAX theaters, you can see the prologue to the Odyssey right before. Fire. Fire and ash, I believe it's out. Okay. Yeah. [00:51:46] Speaker A: Six minutes. Six minutes. Be there tomorrow of what will be. [00:51:51] Speaker B: Probably a movie that changes movie theaters. Once again. The technology is going to push us forward into the future as we watch the. One of the greatest movies of the past, Christopher Nolan, the Odyssey. I can't freaking wait to watch this movie. I don't even. There's nothing else to say. And I. I'm really pissed that I'm going on vacation. I don't know if they'll be. See Fire and Ice and imax. I'm gonna drive up the Buffalo to see. I was gonna say definitely ice. There's. That's where the ice comes from. [00:52:32] Speaker A: Yes, exactly. [00:52:33] Speaker B: So, yeah, I'm gonna. I'm like, dad, you want to go see the new Avatar movie? Let's go. [00:52:39] Speaker A: I do want to see the Odyssey. I will see it. Curious about this preview. That will give me a better indication, because I'm just worried about how realistic it's supposed to be. But I've also heard it is supposed to be a full fantasy movie, so. Because it should be. I don't want. I don't want to see a realistic. And I've never seen Nolan not be realistic, so that's. That's. Other than, like, Inception. You know what I mean? Like, that's, you know, getting there out there a bit. But everything else, he. He always has an explanation for it. I just want to see a centaur get stabbed in the face with. [00:53:22] Speaker B: You know, he did do Batman. [00:53:26] Speaker A: Yeah. Realistic. [00:53:31] Speaker B: The first ones, the least realistic. [00:53:33] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:53:36] Speaker B: Speaking of unrealistic, we knew that Ninja Turtles is gonna be a live action film replacing the last Ronin for some reason. But also we're getting another sonic spin off, which is exciting. The Sonic movies are great, and both are gonna be dropping in 2028 within a month of each other. So that's interesting. I'll say this. [00:54:03] Speaker A: Obviously, I'm excited. Other than they're gonna do it, you know, younger, and I don't know why they haven't done older, but I just saw spongebob today with my kid, and there's a. Like a Halloween or not Halloween, sorry, Christmas short that plays in front of it with this. [00:54:21] Speaker B: Love when they do. [00:54:23] Speaker A: Yeah. With these new turtles in that same style. It's so good. It's about a bet. It's about a bad guy who's making Christmas toys. And it's very much. [00:54:39] Speaker B: You will love it. [00:54:40] Speaker A: Anyone who loves Pursuit of Plastic will love it because it's about, like, vintage toys and it's hilarious. So they did a great job with it. And yeah, hopefully they'll release it online because it'll be really fun to see. [00:54:54] Speaker B: It was good. So Mute Mayhem. Turtles, right? [00:54:57] Speaker A: Yes, yes. [00:54:59] Speaker B: Chrome alone. [00:55:01] Speaker A: Yes, it is. It's real smart because they really do make fun of even the Turtles toys. Like, it's. It's good. Yeah, it's a real. Like. It's about vintage toys, so it's. It's Hilarious. [00:55:14] Speaker B: Okay, man. I think they, I think Paramount stole their idea. I think we have to go after them. Anyways, next up. [00:55:24] Speaker A: I was gonna say this is the Anti Paramount episode. If you want a title. That's right. [00:55:30] Speaker B: If you want to pee on Paramount, join the Defect Coalition. Next up, Jordan Peele and Sam Raimi are teaming up to produce a feature adaptation of a horror short film, Portrait of God. What a team up this is. [00:55:47] Speaker A: Well, yeah, for sure. Okay. I, I love that these things even happen because, you know, again, this is just somebody who did a little short film on YouTube. It got viral, and then now they're making a full thing out of it. Just like lights out and stuff like that. So I, I, I like when, you know, Hollywood is taking like these original voices from, you know, obscure places and doing it. So that's cool. [00:56:17] Speaker B: Hell yeah. Definitely. Definitely. Next up, I guess we can talk about the Super Mario Galaxy trailer. I think this is a, I think this is a newer version of it with a few new scenes in it. Whatever the deal is, I can't wait for this movie with the new characters in it. The galaxy theme. Those games are hella fun. And. Yeah, that's it. It's not. I don't think it's made off Paramount, so I'm even happier. [00:56:50] Speaker A: I think it's universal illumination. Yeah, like, it's, I, the first movie was so good. I can't wait to see this next one. Like, it just looks like so much fun. And they're just going to keep like, I want Yoshi and we're getting Yoshi. So I don't really everything else. I'm, I'm good with. [00:57:15] Speaker B: Another video game adaptation in this bonkers ass trailer that I just finally watched yesterday. This, I'm sorry, but this trailer is, is, could be like one of my highlights of the year. Honestly, it's just like, it's so wacky and it's so, like, it's so video game inspired and it's like, I like, I don't know, man. All the, everybody who plays the role in this, in this movie is like going all in for it and so, and like Cody Rhodes with that guile haircut is like, is the one of the greatest things I've ever seen. Like, Jason Momoa is Blanca. Like, I like everything in that. I didn't study him was even in that trailer because I was so distracted. [00:58:04] Speaker A: For, like that was happening. It's his long season, the low boat, you know, it's, it's very quick. Oh, Dave de Smallchin is Bison, though. I was like, no, this is a odd choice. [00:58:21] Speaker B: Julia. [00:58:21] Speaker A: Like, he was also a very odd choice. Like, I still expected a giant man who could actually fight Guile off. And yet they went completely different again. So that was the only thing. Like the traveler. Yeah. It looks completely ridiculous. And you know when you're trying to do something like this and how. How do you compete with Mortal Kombat? [00:58:46] Speaker B: Right? [00:58:46] Speaker A: You gotta go all balls to the wall. And they did it in the trailer. And so. Yeah, looks good. [00:58:52] Speaker B: Yeah. I gotta maybe go punch the car at the end of the trailer. I just, like. [00:58:56] Speaker A: That was great. That was funny. [00:58:58] Speaker B: Everything. [00:58:59] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:59:00] Speaker B: Styled up. [00:59:01] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:59:01] Speaker B: Oh, I should. You know, guess what we're gonna talk about? We're gonna watch Godzilla again. [00:59:06] Speaker A: Tell me. [00:59:07] Speaker B: Oh, God. With the next Godzilla versus Kong. Oh, sorry. Godzilla X Kong. The triple X feature. Super Supernova. It's been rumored. It's been rumored, but it's all. All fingers are pointing at space Godzilla, which is one of my favorite characters from he said he's eye or. I don't know if it was the. It was. It was the millennials or not, whatever it was. But space Godzilla is a really interesting idea for this next movie. And it's time. I mean, we've covered all these Kaiju on Earth. We've covered a lot of stuff. Now what about this extraterrestrial threat? When you send Godzilla's DNA into space and something happens, that's. That's. [01:00:00] Speaker A: I don't care. [01:00:01] Speaker B: You know, that's a plot for the first platform, the original movies. So. [01:00:04] Speaker A: So just bring me more Godzilla instead of another Kong sequel. And I loved. [01:00:12] Speaker B: I loved it. [01:00:13] Speaker A: But like, we really. Godzilla was a Not even a minor character. You know what I mean? Like, so let's bring him back to the forefront, please. [01:00:23] Speaker B: No, for sure, for sure. New Empire was an awesome movie. It's such a fun. Yeah. [01:00:30] Speaker A: Oh, I love it. Absolutely. I love it. Yeah. [01:00:33] Speaker B: So. And it just. And it propelled the monsterverse into the next level of like, we can do this for real now. [01:00:40] Speaker A: For sure. [01:00:40] Speaker B: So, yeah, I'm really excited for this. Can't wait. And then last up in the movie, the movie world, we were just talking the last episode about a unknown Spielberg and John Williams will Alien movie that was of kind. Coming soon. And guess what? It's. It's. It's sooner than later because it's already got a trailer. So Disclosure day is the name of the movie. And you can watch the teaser trailer. We have a little Emily Blunch in there. And hey, it's. I. I got Nothing else to say. I didn't watch the trailer yet, so. But it's. It's Spielberg, Williams and probably the last pairing of those two ever. [01:01:26] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, like, that's kind of it, right? Like they're both ancient. [01:01:31] Speaker B: Yes. [01:01:33] Speaker A: That's fine. You know, he's back to sci fi. I'll go see it in the theater and. And then that's it. So bring it on. [01:01:41] Speaker B: I like this little weather girl look for Emily Point. It's nice. Sorry, did I say that loud? Anyways, Into gaming. Next up in gaming news, we have something that we will be doing soon, in the next hour or so of our lives. Magic gathering is taking over our lives in a great way. And hell yeah, I have. I have sworn up and down that I would never buy Marvel magic cards. And of course. Yeah, you did. [01:02:21] Speaker A: I played verses for years. [01:02:24] Speaker B: I hate doing. I'm never doing this super power thing. Watch me build a deck out of this electro card. Then I just showed the audience that's not watching. But yeah, I bought some Spider man cards. They're not great great, but some are great. And so this Marvel preview I'm in, I will buy that Fantastic Four Commander set. I will buy a box of these cards because they look. They're great, honestly. And if they learned from what they did wrong with Spider man, which apparently they didn't learn with Ninja Turtles, and we'll find out in February or March, whatever it is. But this, however, as a full release, I hope they do it right because what they've previewed so far is badass. And they're going to be some great additions to the magic universe. Even if you hate universes beyond and you don't believe in this kind of stuff. Up. I don't care because I've. I've seen the light and I'm down. I'm down. [01:03:34] Speaker A: Yeah, it's. Everything you said is true. You know, one thing that it, you know, I could go on and on about these because I like that they actually took a lot of the comic book covers and other. Just like Bill Sincadnovich, like for Elektra as Massacre Girl. Like stroke genius. You know what I mean? Like, using the original artist was genius. But what I was. [01:04:01] Speaker B: They did that for Spider Man 2. And there are a lot of cool Spider man cards. [01:04:05] Speaker A: There are a lot of cool ones. Yes. Looking the high. The highlight for me for this that separated it from Spider man because they did do it was the panel cards. Like, they did it in just a really, really cool way where it's little comic book scenes. And even my wife, who knows nothing about magic, was like, that's. That's cool. Like, especially in the size of that card. So, yeah, I. Like I said, I agree with you. I wasn't gonna be too shitty about these because I don't really care as long as I have fun with the cards and like, they make sense and they do. They look great. They look like they have fun mechanics. And, you know, I've been wanting to make a merfolk deck for a long time, and I think Namor is an. Why not make him as my commander? [01:04:58] Speaker B: So, I mean, you. There were a few Spider man panel cards. [01:05:02] Speaker A: Okay. [01:05:03] Speaker B: You saw. You saw those, right? There's a. [01:05:05] Speaker A: Apparently not. [01:05:06] Speaker B: Yeah, there are some in the. In the eternal set or whatever it is. I'm not sure. [01:05:10] Speaker A: Okay. [01:05:11] Speaker B: But there are some which I appreciated too. That's cool as I got some of them myself. But yeah, I, you know, know what? Putting. Putting my angst and anger aside, as I some sometimes try to do for my health. Yeah, I'm. I'm in. I'm in. Because it's magic and I am. These cards, there's always a card in there that you can build an amazing deck out of or take and put in with everything else. So as long as I. As long as it crosses over well down, like you said. Merfolk. Speaking of merfolk. Next up, Tomb Raider 2 games were previewed in the. The Game awards the other night. We are getting a remake of Legacy of Atlantis, the very first Tomb Raider game ever. And then we're getting a new game, Tomb Raider Catalyst. Two trailers dropped. And it's funny because people are like, complaining that the lacy Atlantis Laura Croft. Oh, she doesn't look survivor enough. No, we. Those games were okay. They ended up being good, but they didn't really do much either. People. I don't know what people's problems. The. The trilogy from the. The newer one. [01:06:34] Speaker A: The new ones. [01:06:35] Speaker B: The new ones, right. [01:06:36] Speaker A: I love those games. Right? [01:06:38] Speaker B: There's the, like, I didn't like the first one that much. [01:06:41] Speaker A: Oh, man. [01:06:41] Speaker B: And then they got better, right? Yeah, but people still have this big issue of like, oh, they like that Lara Croft versus, like the old Laura Croft or like, she can't be too sexy or whatever. But like, this is the thing is like Lara croft in the 90s is one of the most beloved characters of all time. [01:07:01] Speaker A: Right. [01:07:02] Speaker B: And bringing her back is. And doing this other look with Catalyst, like just the best of both worlds. And I'm really excited for. For both of these games. [01:07:13] Speaker A: So, yeah, I think that's it. It's either Tomb Raider fan is getting satisfied right now. [01:07:20] Speaker B: Right. [01:07:20] Speaker A: You know what I mean? Like they're both. Both versions of the character are relevant and they're, you know, I was hoping it was going to be for. I think this year was like her 30th anniversary and it's weird that they didn't do anything, but finally we got this announcement. So yeah, I'm glad that we're getting them coming out next year. [01:07:39] Speaker B: So thank you. Yeah, super pumped. And also we gotta look at a new Mega man game, Dual override. And you know what? I'm down. I love Mega man games. I think it's time for another, you know, sidescrolling adventure in that world and bring it on. There's been so many remasters. It's time for a new game. [01:08:04] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm. I was really excited to show my daughter this because Mega Man's always been a franchise that I have played and will continue to play. So. Yeah, updated graphics, updated gameplay, like same Mega man style. Like bring it on. I'm there. [01:08:22] Speaker B: Another thing that was shown off is we've been hearing about how they want to expand dnd make more games. What was next after Baldur's Gate? Well, now we know we're going to be getting Warlock Dungeons and Dragons. It's from Invoke Studios which who created Dark Alliance. It's going to be focusing on the adventures of the warrior Katri who embraces newfound dark powers to unleash some otherworldly magic in her fight against the forces invading the land. So a third person action adventure game and it's going to be very much magic based. [01:08:58] Speaker A: Interesting. Okay, I'm down. You know Trisha Helfer from Battlestar Galactica? [01:09:06] Speaker B: Yes. [01:09:06] Speaker A: Heck yeah. All right, yeah, listen, you know, we want more Dungeons and Dragons, so let's see what the gameplay trailer looks like when they drop that next year. But for now, colored me intrigued. [01:09:20] Speaker B: Sir. We're going to be getting a VR the Boys game called Trigger Warning. [01:09:30] Speaker A: Sure. [01:09:31] Speaker B: Yeah. It's a brand new story. You get a original character who accidentally uncovers a grotesque Vought secret that turns a family outing into carnage. Engaging a deep stealth and combat mechanic. Combat mechanics is the war against Supes hits a boiling point. [01:09:51] Speaker A: All right, I mean, whatever. That's fine. I like the boys. Fine. Do what you guys gotta do. [01:10:00] Speaker B: Yeah, it's nothing like getting punched by Homelander. After many, many total war games, including they're going on the third regular Warhammer one. We're finally getting a Warhammer 40,000. And if you like those games, those strategy, like full army games, this. And you're ready for this, this setting? Yeah, I am. I'm really kind of pumped about this game. I have, I have. I've played a couple of these. I played like the Samurai one. I think I played the first Warhammer one. But Warhammer 40K is such a cool world and this will be a really, really cool setting for it. [01:10:44] Speaker A: Jeez. Yeah, this looks absolutely epic. I've never played any of these, so. Yeah, this looks. [01:10:52] Speaker B: There's so many of them. [01:10:53] Speaker A: I know. This one looks pretty. Pretty wild though. Yeah, that looks awesome. [01:10:58] Speaker B: It's cool because, like, there's always like different setting for them, you know, whether it's like realistic, like history based or this, you know. So very cool. Next up, a single player alien game is on its way. Survival horror. Yeah, it's gonna be. Let's see. It's gonna be. It's being described as a shadow of the Tomb Raider with xenomorphs. All right. Since we just mentioned that it's being made by IDO's Montreal, we just mentioned, you know, made the Tomb Raider games and the Deuce X and even that awesome Marvel Guardians Galaxy game that come out. So the main character is an engineer named Aubrey who can use grappling hooks and magnetic boots. And guess what? Ripley8, the. The clone of Ripley will be in this. [01:11:55] Speaker A: Yeah, that's. This is interesting. And it's interesting that it's not Ripley 8 because you know what I mean? Or another Ripley or something like that if they wanted to do it. So listen, that studio has a very good track record of games. And to put aliens in a different world or an alien, I don't care how they're gonna do it, but I'm down. I'll be there. [01:12:18] Speaker B: Larion is back after making an amazing Baldur's Gate 3. And they're. Since we're not getting Divinity 3, we'll be getting a remaster of Divinity Original Sin 2. Have you ever played these games? [01:12:36] Speaker A: I have. I own Divinity 2. I need to play it more because I've heard it's one of the greatest games ever, but. Yeah, the definitive edition that's coming out. Probably just need to get it or upgrade the other one that I have because knowing what Larion does, like, I can't imagine anything but great things. [01:12:59] Speaker B: Yeah, I have to check this out since it's on all the systems too. [01:13:02] Speaker A: Yes, it is. [01:13:03] Speaker B: Yes. Cool. All right. I'll be checking that out because That I never even knew about Larian until Baldur's Gate 3. [01:13:12] Speaker A: So you think maybe you've known him your whole life? [01:13:15] Speaker B: Maybe I have. Maybe I have. And then last up the this company can do no wrong particle. The vampire survivors that changed the face of video gaming forever has come up with a brand new. A brand new take on that, on that series called Vampire Crawlers. The Turbo Wildcat, as they're calling from vampire survivors dropping out in 2020 or 2026. This is like card based. It's like a first person game. You move through the boards, you throw spells at the monsters. It's a totally different take on it, but it looks awesome and a lot of fun. [01:14:01] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean it looks crazy. There's digging capabilities. It looks like there's museums. There's of a lot other buildings because you can't go into buildings in the other one like whatever, you know, more Vampire Survivors. And now Vampire Crawlers like keep, keep, keep it going Pongle. Like you said, they can do no wrong. [01:14:23] Speaker B: They can't. Did you play much of the Castlevania one? [01:14:27] Speaker A: Just a bit. Not, not the whole thing yet. [01:14:30] Speaker B: So that's where it really started to expand into like different settings where you. [01:14:34] Speaker A: Could go and all that building. Yeah, okay. [01:14:37] Speaker B: Into the castle. Like you were outside and you went into the castle. [01:14:40] Speaker A: Nice. [01:14:41] Speaker B: Everywhere. Then they just dropped another update with even more Castlevania stuff. Yeah, another free update is out there. I need to actually, I need to, I need to check it out. So much, so much good stuff from that company. So many little goodies given to the. The hardcore fans that. Damn right somehow, I mean they made millions of dollars by selling a $5 game. So one of the greatest games of all time. [01:15:10] Speaker A: That's it. [01:15:11] Speaker B: Anyways, Casey, where. Where in the hell can you find us? [01:15:16] Speaker A: You can find us over the entire interwebs. Don't forget to tell dot com. The only place to travel geekly as well as dfate entertainment.com or D FAT ent on the social medias, the ones that are still subscribing to. And yeah, this is Casey saying, you know, I'm gonna have to bring it back, Chris, because I already forgot what I had said previously. It's probably go buy more toys. But it's go read your comics. What was it? What was it gonna be? [01:15:48] Speaker B: I don't even remember. [01:15:49] Speaker A: Yeah, I can't remember either. But I'm wrong. But go read your comics. And thanks for listening to 10 years of towel talk podcast everybody. [01:15:59] Speaker B: And this is Chris saying don't forget a towel.
