[00:00:03] Speaker A: Defect Entertainment. [00:00:17] Speaker B: Welcome to a brand new episode of Towel Light Talk. [00:00:20] Speaker A: This is Casey and this is Chris. [00:00:22] Speaker B: This is episode 268, Chris. Oh, can you believe it? [00:00:30] Speaker A: Sometimes. Sometimes. But then again, I don't. I'm not sure. We've been doing it for this a long time. [00:00:38] Speaker B: Yes, yes. 10 years strong. Thanks for everybody who's been listening for 10 years or if you're new. Hello, this is Casey and Chris. First thing we like to do is talk about what we're geeking out on. And Chris, what. What it's been going on. [00:00:51] Speaker A: Man. Oh man. Let's see. I. I've been going to the movies more. I'm very proud of myself for. Wow. Going to the theater and. [00:01:01] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:01:02] Speaker A: Watching some films. I was. I was supposed to go see Weapons this past weekend. I didn't get to see it. I had to. I had to go do some projects. But I did see Shin Godzilla last weekend. [00:01:14] Speaker B: Nice. [00:01:16] Speaker A: That was great. That was really cool. And like, they had just restored it in 4.4K. It's about 10 years since that movie came out. It's coming out into 4K D Blu Ray soon. So very. It was awesome on the big screen. I really enjoy that movie. Other than that, man, really not much. I've been. I've been watching, you know, I've been trying to catch up on TV shows. I watched I am up on Alien Earth, which has been really, really good. Especially as an alien fan saying this. I know I don't want to say too much to you, but it's like, we'll talk about more when you do watch it. But like, yeah, deleted, like the lead into the show. All this cool stuff they do for it. It's just that it. They set the show up really well. It feels like it. They're doing some different stuff. It's really exciting. I watched Peacemaker, the first episode of season two. That was great. Yeah, it came out Thursday. Okay. They did a little cool retcon thing in the. [00:02:22] Speaker B: I did. I did see that. I guess I didn't realize it was out already. [00:02:26] Speaker A: Yeah, they did that in the. Like, what? Like previously in the dcu, as they say. And they show all the stuff from. [00:02:32] Speaker B: That's hilarious. [00:02:33] Speaker A: And they do something else. I'll let you watch that. But it was great. It was like. It was really awesome episode. It was really funny and just really set up a really good season ahead. So, yeah, that's it. And then, you know, back to work. So I started Magic Club again. So I've been beating kids up in magic gathering it's great. [00:02:52] Speaker B: Feels great, all the beating up. [00:02:54] Speaker A: Yeah, that's right. [00:02:57] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:02:58] Speaker A: Same. [00:02:58] Speaker B: I mean, been playing magic. Been seeing a lot of movies. I did see Weapons and I saw. I did. I actually liked it a lot. I would say Superman's still up there. Maybe number one, Sinners is still up there. This is up there. [00:03:21] Speaker A: Nice. [00:03:22] Speaker B: I also saw F1. [00:03:24] Speaker A: Did I tell you that? No. It's so good in imax. [00:03:29] Speaker B: Yeah. My mom came last week or the week before, and, yeah, we went and saw it. And the in Hans Zimmer score is freaking insane. It's like a synth wave score. [00:03:42] Speaker A: Really? Yeah. [00:03:44] Speaker B: Cinematic synth wave. Yeah. [00:03:47] Speaker A: So. [00:03:48] Speaker B: But yeah, I need to watch Alien. We had to finish Andor watching Rogue One. We'll get over there. That's the next on the line. All right, so let's get into some news. First things first. Marvel news. Brand new day started filming. We've seen some pictures of John Bernthal as Punisher. We've got a tease maybe at Mr. Negative, which is created for the Insomniac games. So I thought that was. I. I mean, he's crossed over, right? He's in the comics now. I think so. Yeah. I'm excited to see what they do with that story. And then we also now have heard that Hulk slash Banner. But Mark Ruffalo is coming back. I don't know what that means. He doesn't know who Spider man is. Like, what's the deal? [00:04:37] Speaker A: That's. That is the question, Casey. What is the deal? And I don't know. I. Fine, whatever. The Punishers in the movie, Street Level Spider Man. Like, are we gonna get the Hulk back? Probably not in this movie. Probably get smart Hulk, and he'd be talking some smart stuff with Spider Man. So nonetheless, I'm super excited for this movie. [00:05:01] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. No, I am, too. And I like, you know, the idea that we have. He doesn't know anybody, etc. So brand new day is coming, and I'm here for it. From the popularity of across the Spider Verse, apparently we've got a. This is a. A Sony version of Spider Punk with Daniel Kaluya, who is an amazing actor. And so is it going to theaters? Is it going to be a side, you know, animated thing? Like, we don't really know. But what's your thoughts on this? [00:05:46] Speaker A: As long as the other Sony world is dead and buried, it's fine. Spider Verse is one of the greatest comic book movies of all time, whether or not it's Sony or not. So we're gonna get, you know, Spider Man Noir soon with Nicolas Cage. Yes, this sounds cool. It's Spider Man. It's not non Spider Man. Spider man world. So the. Whatever man. I'm not really that familiar with Spider Punk, so yeah, I think it'd be a really cool animated show. Yeah, they say. [00:06:22] Speaker B: So it looks like Ajan Singh is developing and co writing the feature and it will be an animated. So he did the voice of Spider Punk. I guess maybe they're just gonna spin off. [00:06:33] Speaker A: I. [00:06:34] Speaker B: That world's not going anywhere though. When we ever get that sequel, that's something else. [00:06:39] Speaker A: 2027 question. [00:06:41] Speaker B: 2027. But going back to Daredevil and Punisher News, Marvel Knights, we knew Jimmy Palmiotti is bringing that back. We're going to get a crossover here. Daredevil, Punisher, the Devil's Trigger, a five issue limited series. Artist Tomaso Bianchi will be on there. And this is dropping in November. Obviously. The two of them together is always a fun mashup. I'm excited to see what this comic does. [00:07:11] Speaker A: 5 issues. [00:07:12] Speaker B: Perfect way to tell the story too. [00:07:15] Speaker A: Yeah, for sure. I mean, we have. Let's just open the gates of Marvel Knights. They're doing it. It's time. The Black Panther one has been great. The Punisher launch. The Punisher standalone one launches soon. Now they're doing this, so they're just letting it loose. And I will buy all the issues. [00:07:36] Speaker B: Full steam ahead. [00:07:37] Speaker A: That's right. [00:07:41] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm. I'm. I'm ready. So one thing. Let's go over across the pond to DC News. I just wanted to drop this big, little big little news. Superman is out on digital. So if you have not had a chance to see it, it is in theaters and it's still making money. But James Gunn wanted to put it out. So if people hadn't had a chance to see things before Peacemaker, which you did, it kind of tied the knot in there. So I, I still think it's worth the cinematic experience if you have the opportunity. And it's still in the theaters, but it is at home as well. [00:08:17] Speaker A: Yeah, I. I ended up seeing it a second time. I'm not sure if I saw it. Yeah. Recorded the last show. Yeah, it was. It was so great. It was great because I actually had the opportunity not to be anxious about watching it and being like, oh, is this going to be good? Or whatever. It could actually really enjoy it. And it was. It was that much better. [00:08:35] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:08:36] Speaker A: When I watched it. So if you haven't watched it, check it out. Go to the theater. If you can. I already ordered my, my 4K Blu Ray, which comes out I think in September at some point. So that should be on its way with all the special features and magic, you know, and the crypto magics that was just dropped. [00:08:54] Speaker B: Oh, that's right. That's right. In the still DCU, but different part of it. The Batman 2 is going to start shooting in this upcoming spring. So listen, that means. So that's shooting 26. Maybe we get it. 27. I think they have it for. Yeah, we're a whiles away, but excited to know that we're closer to it being made. [00:09:20] Speaker A: Are we? Because I feel like the earth is spinning faster and time just moves at a rapid pace. The. I just read something from Colin. Colin Farrow was just like, I don't have that big of a role in the movie, which makes sense. If he's got a central. [00:09:35] Speaker B: Yeah, that's fine. [00:09:36] Speaker A: Yeah. And hopefully that continues and they kind of can, you know, make more of that. But that, that's good too, because that means they're not really going to concentrate on stuff they've already done in the movie. And hopefully we get something crazy like Mr. Freezer, you know, some. Maybe some obscure villain. I don't know. We'll see. [00:09:53] Speaker B: That's it. I am all about it, as well as this next piece of news. So Matt Fraction is teaming up with Jorge Jimenez for the next Batman, Batman number one, which comes out next week, September 3rd. So at the time of you guys listening to this. [00:10:12] Speaker A: I'm. [00:10:13] Speaker B: I'm all about it. Like, I love Matt Fraction, I love Jorge. I think it's a good team up. And excited to see where they, they take the. The man and bat. [00:10:24] Speaker A: Yeah, no, I agree. I think this is an excellent, an excellent step forward again for redefining Batman. Hush 2 is just wrapping up right now, so it's. It'll be a good point to start something new. And, you know, I'm really excited to see what Mad Fraction brings to Batman. So I have humor in order. Yeah, right, like humor. [00:10:47] Speaker B: Yeah, a little humor. And then finally we got a lot of different trailers from Gamescom and we'll go into most of them at the end of the show, but we did get a LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight trailer and this is an instant buy. We already love the Lego Batman games. And you just added Arkham, like, to the game. [00:11:10] Speaker A: Yeah, that's pure. It's pure Arkham vibes. I guess my biggest question from it was like the multiplayer and there's not a. I guess there's not a whole lot of, like, extra characters in the game, like your normal Lego game from what I. From what I've read. So we will see. But it looks great. I mean, it's. If it's like Arkham Knight, you know, I'm in. [00:11:31] Speaker B: Well, they're supposed to do Robin's origin story in it. [00:11:36] Speaker A: Interesting. [00:11:37] Speaker B: So. Which is funny because people are like, so we just get to see his parents explode into brick. [00:11:43] Speaker A: It just drop. Exactly. [00:11:46] Speaker B: They can do that. [00:11:48] Speaker A: It is kind of cool because it's like they're borrowing from all the different movies and, and different Batman lore to make this game. And I think that's a really smart idea. [00:11:57] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm, I can't not wait for it. So let's jump over to a galaxy far, far away as we got a bit more casting news for the Sean Levy Starfighter movie that stars Ryan Gosling. His. As the antagonist. [00:12:15] Speaker A: Right. [00:12:15] Speaker B: Protagonist. [00:12:16] Speaker A: I don't know. Protagonist. Okay. [00:12:19] Speaker B: The antagonist will be Matt Smith. [00:12:22] Speaker A: Oh, Ryan Gosling. Yes. [00:12:23] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:12:24] Speaker A: Right. Yeah, yeah. Yep. [00:12:27] Speaker B: So Matt Smith, who really does a great job as a villain, honestly. So I'm excited to see how he steps into this role. What it is. Is he gonna be in makeup? He always does good like that too. So let's, let's see what that means. [00:12:44] Speaker A: I remember when he was supposed to be in the sequels. No, he was. Or was he in it or like the was something. Something about Matt Smith. So I never think it came to fruition or anything like that perhaps. But yeah, I mean, we got some solid actors on this movie already. Yeah. You got. It says new time period here. So, you know, I. It's kind of exciting because it's been quite a little while since we saw a Star wars movie in theaters. We get Mando and Grogu next year. Right. And yep, that'll be the first Star wars movie in 87. 8 years. I don't know. And then this. It's crazy. It's. It's. It's insane to me that we haven't had Star wars movies in the theater when we had a, a plethora of them. [00:13:33] Speaker B: When Disney first took over, it was feast or famine right now. So, yeah, as you alluded to, the next movie is supposed to take place in a time period a few years after the sequels. So we don't know what that time period is like. [00:13:46] Speaker A: But. [00:13:46] Speaker B: But it's coming. [00:13:48] Speaker A: It's coming. [00:13:49] Speaker B: Keeping up with that Lego news. We've got some more Lego Star Wars. We're going to get Star wars, rebuild the Galaxy. It looks like a mashup of literally everything. You know, Billy D. Williams is back as Lando and we'll get a bunch of other fun. You know, obviously Alen Tudic course has to come back. [00:14:11] Speaker A: Yes. [00:14:13] Speaker B: But great voice acting, great LEGO storytelling. I'm pretty excited to see literally like every Star wars thing kind of put in, put in together in this giant mashup. [00:14:27] Speaker A: Did you watch the first one? Yeah. Yep. Yeah, it's so good. Yeah, it was really good. It's really funny. [00:14:33] Speaker B: It's smart. [00:14:34] Speaker A: Yeah. They say Jackson's in this one, so. [00:14:38] Speaker B: Yeah, he's playing. Sorry. Ben Schwartz who voices Sonic is gonna voice him, but yeah. So this will be September 19th, a new piece of the story arrives. The four part sequel series premieres on Disney plus and that's only the beginning. So kind of cool that they're expanding that out. We'll see how it goes. [00:15:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:15:02] Speaker B: And then finally we get a New Visions Volume 3 which will be dropping on October 29th. That is also just awesome news because who knows what we're going to see next, right? [00:15:14] Speaker A: That's really it. I mean it's such a cool way to present Star wars in a non canon way and not have to really play by the rules and you can just tell stories like, you know, you should be and having fun with it. So yeah, I've loved what they've given us so far and I really looking forward to more. [00:15:35] Speaker B: Yes. Very, very excited to see what happens next. So sticking to the other side of the galaxy, maybe our side, I don't know. Star Trek, we have a new comic book series starring Captain Kirk as he battles the Borg. This is going to be another IDW comic written by Colin Kelly and Jackson Lansing and illustrated by Adrian Bonilla. Very, very excited to see again. They're giving us more Kirk for sure. [00:16:06] Speaker A: The idea that they're crossing over the Borg with the, with the TOS is really. [00:16:10] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:16:11] Speaker A: Interesting. [00:16:12] Speaker B: Yes. [00:16:14] Speaker A: I want to remind you that we get IDW previews and so all of these comics and the one that just one of the previews that from this week is the new Starship Godzilla that's coming out. So. Okay, if you want to read these, we have access to them and they're, you know, such a solid company doing so many different IPs. And this, they are this, this sounds great and they're not. You know, I, I almost picked up the humble bum bundle of all those Star Trek comics recently. It was like hundreds of Star Trek comics. I think maybe I'm exaggerating but yeah, it was just. I was like, I don't think I could read this many comics. [00:16:56] Speaker B: Or can you? And then finally we got a trailer for Star Trek Infection. This is kind of like a new virtual reality survival game. You're playing a Vulcan. It's going to be for the Meta Quest. It does look pretty interesting as a first player kind of experience. Like a. Almost like alien. You know the one. [00:17:25] Speaker A: Isolation. [00:17:25] Speaker B: Yeah, isolation. So, yeah. What did you think of this trailer? [00:17:29] Speaker A: I thought it was great. It really made me want to buy a VR headset because they're putting out these games, like the Batman one and the Alien one and this one and yeah, a Star Trek one. Like, this is really cool. I even forgot to put the Deadpool one, you know, from. From Gamescom. So that's another one that we. Yeah, another VR. So they're releasing all these VR VR games finally that look really interesting and hopefully. I know it's not just Meta Quest because I was looking it up. There's like one for Steam that you can get if you don't like Facebook, like me and you don't want to. And nobody's putting anything on PS VR for whatever reason. [00:18:06] Speaker B: Right. [00:18:07] Speaker A: So. [00:18:07] Speaker B: Right. [00:18:08] Speaker A: There are other options out there for VR and I'm going to be looking into it because I. I want to go boldly, you know, into this VR world. [00:18:17] Speaker B: Of course you do. Who wouldn't? [00:18:22] Speaker A: Right? [00:18:25] Speaker B: All right, so let's jump over to Crowd Sorcery. J. Scott Campbell is going back to his roots. We're going to be getting. Coming on September 9th, J. Scott Campbell's Danger Girl Artist Edition Kickstarter. You know, these things usually go for like 100, 150 bucks typically, but every single Artist Edition that I've ever seen has been worth it. And they usually win an Eisner and they look amazing. And J. Scott Campbell and Danger Girls probably got into this guy, so. Yeah. [00:19:01] Speaker A: Yeah, those. Oh, man, I love Danger Girl. I love his sexy drawings. It's just like, for real. I mean, this is like Danger Girl dates back to what, like middle school for us, I think. Like high school. Like high school. [00:19:17] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:19:19] Speaker A: So, yeah, yeah. I. I am interested to see what the price on this is going to be. This is. I would love to add this to my art book collection. [00:19:30] Speaker B: Yep. I don't even. I can't even get it into it. Like, there's going to be so many Kickstarter exclusives with it. So we're leaving the link in there to get notified on launch and it will also take you to it if you catch the episode later and want to get it live. Something that's going on right now though is the comic book kind of sequel, or as they're calling it, the Ex, the official toxpansion of the Toxic Avenger movie that's coming out this weekend actually. So I will go see that in the theater. The Peter Dinklage and Kevin Bacon movie. This little comic book thing, which is kind of cool, is like a bunch of different writer artists added in stories and you're getting behind the scenes artwork. You're getting all this extra stuff. It's about 220 pages, which the retail edition is 150, so 70 pages worth of extra stuff for the Kickstarter. Um, it's already, it's already funded. It was looking for 30k. It's at 47k and it's not a really bad price on it. You know, like $40 for the hardcover, which. Oh, that's it for 220 pages. Like, plus you get a digital. That's a no brainer. [00:20:47] Speaker A: That's pretty good. That's pretty good. Yeah. [00:20:49] Speaker B: If you're a Toxic fan. Toxy fan, like I am. [00:20:51] Speaker A: Right. [00:20:53] Speaker B: And then finally. Why don't you speak to this one? [00:20:55] Speaker A: Because this is. [00:20:56] Speaker B: This is your. [00:20:57] Speaker A: This is your baby kind of. [00:20:59] Speaker B: Did you pre order this? [00:21:00] Speaker A: No, no, I'm done. Okay. Stuff. Yeah, I am. Yeah. I've. I. Magic the Gathering has destroyed my toy collecting for the most part. For the most part. I won't say I don't buy toys, but I'm very selective now in what I buy. And it's definitely not this because I, I never got into the Snake Men, honestly. And this. There was a lot of. There was actually a lot of like controversy about why this was selected. They. When they put the poll out, they're like, yeah, yeah. Because they're like, where's the Fright Zone? Where's the other stuff that people are voting for? Right. And that's coming apparently. So that's not going to be crowdsourced like this. But this, you know, it's interesting because you see the price ends up in like this and you're like, how big is it compared to like the Castle Grayskull or the Snake Mountain that they had before? And this is supposed to be in line with that. And those were both under, under a hundred dollars. I was gonna say. [00:21:58] Speaker B: Those are 78, 80 bucks. Yeah, yeah. [00:22:01] Speaker A: I don't know any more about this, honestly. Okay. And it looks cool, but like I said, the Snake Men suck. I'm just Joking. [00:22:10] Speaker B: Well, it's, it's. [00:22:12] Speaker A: Yeah, it's reached its funding. [00:22:16] Speaker B: It's just one day. Yeah. [00:22:17] Speaker A: And they've extended for seven days. So if you want to back this project right now. Well, the early backers was Skeletal Lady Slither, so you can't get that anymore. But there are, there is another unlock at 8,000 backers, which with Priest Pythonus origins figure, they're already at 6,000 backers, which gets you the snake lair place at Chimera and Fortress Accessories. So there's a lot of cool stuff going into it as far as bulk bonus stuff. And, and if as of today, like I said, they extended it through September 2nd, so if you got the money, back it, back it, back it, back. [00:22:55] Speaker B: It, back it, back it. And while you're thinking about backing it or just throwing out your wallet, we will take a quick commercial break and be back after these quick messages. Over 20 points of articulation. Great sculpting, and look at the paint job on her. [00:23:45] Speaker B: We've been looking all over for this one. [00:23:47] Speaker A: Let's get him enough sights and end this hunt now. All right, all right. Steady, steady now. [00:23:56] Speaker B: Got him. [00:23:58] Speaker A: It's the Pursuit of Plastic. [00:24:00] Speaker B: Listen to the podcast from the creators of don't forget to tell.com geek out about toy news, hunting and histories on your favorite collectibles. Well, you know what, Chris, what time is it? [00:24:45] Speaker A: It's time for the Pursuit of Plastic. [00:24:48] Speaker B: That is right. And we've got a heaping dose of Mezco coming at you with David Corn Sweats Superman and crypto at the 1, you know, the 112 collective line. It's a pretty cool looking sculpt. It's Got some good accessories. Typical mezco price, around 110 bucks. What do you. What do you think about this one? [00:25:15] Speaker A: Eh. Yeah, exactly. I. I have. I've stopped by Mezco so long ago that I forgot that I even had some left in my storage. Storage unit. But I need to get those good ones out, you know. You know how we feel about Mezco. They've. They're up and down. This looks okay. This. I would rather have gotten that uber deluxe version, the comic version that they put out a couple years ago. That was a really cool one. But if you wanted, you know, you. [00:25:48] Speaker B: Want a 112 crypto of this Superman. [00:25:52] Speaker A: This guy, you know, I got my. I got my McFarlane theatrical edition. Yeah. With the two of them. So I like that price point a lot better at this point, my collecting. But we're gonna leave a link, and if you want it, go buy it. Go buy it. [00:26:09] Speaker B: And other things you may want to buy. Speaking of Magic the Gathering and Marvel Legends, since Hasbro is the parent company, we, you know, we've got some collaborations where there are Magic the Gathering cards inserted in some of these Marvel Legends. You can pre order them, though a lot of them have been sold out, so it's kind of interesting. They're expensive. They're $40. I guess you got to be a real big fan of the figure or a real big fan of the exclusive card, which will probably be for 12 cents on eBay. It's a weird collaboration, and I don't think the two worlds necessarily mix. [00:26:53] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm gonna have to say that this is. This is ridiculous. The only. The only one that's worth it from what I've read, is. Is Man Wolf. Is that his name? Man Wolf, I believe. [00:27:08] Speaker B: Which is not even a cool, like, Spider man character, but it's a car. [00:27:13] Speaker A: Come on. It's J.J. jameson's son, you know. [00:27:16] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. [00:27:18] Speaker A: He's a werewolf on the moon. So much of the moon became a werewolf somehow. I don't know how that works, but the card with him is apparently the only one that's exclusive or. Okay, worth it or something, because the other ones are all reprints of something else. But I read that this was the one, and I'm still not gonna buy it. [00:27:41] Speaker B: But we'll. We'll leave the link in there if it's something that you are interested in. Okay. [00:27:46] Speaker A: You are. Yes, please. You are. Feel free. Don't listen to me. [00:27:50] Speaker B: And then finally, we have our Lego Willy Wonkas coming out. Never. Sorry. Another one of those Fan designs. The Lego ideas come to life. It's my sister's favorite movie. She actually told me about this before I even saw it on the schedule. She was like, are you seeing this? So pretty cool idea set. Packed with a lot of stuff. You get a couple Oompa Loompas, you get Willy Wonka, you get the kids, you get the useless grandpa. It is. It's a cool set. [00:28:25] Speaker A: It really is. It really is. It's just. It just shows you exactly how much, like Lego's reaching out and making cool sets. Nostalgia and all that good stuff. Yep. Yeah. I still gotta build my Jaws one so awesome. [00:28:38] Speaker B: That's so. It's true. That's true. All right, so let's go over to comic book news. It is the end of world as we know it. This is actually book news. Yeah. New tales of Stephen King's the Stand that is out. [00:28:56] Speaker A: Actually. [00:28:57] Speaker B: Jake from the podcast network, you guys have heard him many times on the show and on his shows. He bought this and sent me a text the other day saying he can't wait to dive into it. I didn't realize it was a thing. [00:29:13] Speaker A: Yeah, it's cool. Side stories from the Stand. Yeah. And I've been looking for something to read. So maybe. Maybe I will also check this out and read it because I need to. I need to read more. [00:29:26] Speaker B: That's it. Well, you also need to read this, which is. [00:29:31] Speaker A: I will. There you go. [00:29:34] Speaker B: Predator. Badlands will be getting a its own comic book. This is gonna have a tie in from Ethan Sachs with artists Elvin Chang. This will be a Marvel one. So it's a one shot that kind of serves as like the prelude to the Badlands film, which is pretty awesome. Good way to do it. And I just, honestly, I have a feeling like anything that's gonna come out of this movie, I'm just gonna eat it up. [00:30:03] Speaker A: Oh, my God. Yeah, it's. It if Super Superman. What? Didn't come out this year. This is. This is my most anticipated movie. I did like, wow, the trailer is coming up. Even. Even that I get. I love Avatar. Like, yeah, no, Predator. [00:30:20] Speaker B: Yes, I agree. [00:30:21] Speaker A: Predator has, like. Has been haunting my. Yes. Has been haunting my dreams and stalking me since we were young kids. And the trailer blew me away. So the fact that Trenton Berg is involved in everything is even better because, I mean, he's shaping this world and helping, you know, just grow it. And this is. I would never imagine this even a decade ago, even two years ago. [00:30:52] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:30:53] Speaker A: When Prey came out. Oh, this is great. And then I Couldn't even imagine with the direction we're going with with Killer of Killers and, and Alien Earth and all this from this amazing. These amazing franchises that deserve it. So, yeah, I. I'm gonna read this and I'm gonna go see that movie several times in theater. Probably several times. [00:31:14] Speaker B: I agree. So let's jump over to TV streaming news. We're getting a Phantom of the Opera anime. And yes, we have Tuxedo Mask from Sailor Moon. We. We know that it can exist. But what's very interesting is LW Entertainment, who is kind of putting this out, is they want it to be like a. A global thing. So not only are we going to be getting an anime, but they also want to do live theater, some music, some publishing. Like, they really want to push this into the YA category. And I. [00:31:55] Speaker A: Okay. [00:31:56] Speaker B: You know, you and I are both Phantom fans. I could see this as an anime. I could see it being pretty freaking cool, actually. [00:32:04] Speaker A: Yeah. I can't wait. That when I read this and the fact that Android Lloyd Webber is involved with it really just kind of blows my mind too. I mean, it's been one of my favorite things since I was a kid. And the music and I've seen the. I've seen. I've seen the musical twice. Yeah, it's just. It's one of my favorite things. And I just, you know, even. Just going back to the universal monster like that Phantom and just all of this, all of this lore. And then I read about this masquerade. [00:32:35] Speaker B: Like the immersive experience. I didn't even know that exists. [00:32:39] Speaker A: Yes, I read about that. Yeah. So it's really cool that they're deep diving into like, like putting this out as a full plot, like, fledged thing. So I can't wait to see what it looks like. Yeah. [00:32:56] Speaker B: Makes me want to go to New York City and masquerades. My favorite song. [00:33:00] Speaker A: Come on. [00:33:03] Speaker B: All right, we got our first trailer from Fallout Season 2. All roads are leading to New Vegas as we kind of got a hint even at the end of season one. And then we also got a confirmation for season three. So, no, not even season two is not out yet, but season three is confirmed. I am so, so ready when it drops this December. [00:33:25] Speaker A: Yes, that trailer made me very happy. The fact that we're getting flashbacks with Mr. House as Justin Throw, is it. [00:33:36] Speaker B: I didn't watch the trailer. [00:33:37] Speaker A: You didn't watch the trailer? Okay. [00:33:38] Speaker B: No, because again, I'm going to watch this. [00:33:42] Speaker A: I love this show so much. Yeah, they. They tie in Walter Grogan School, you know, His. His character before the fallout. And it's. They're going to do some stuff with that and. And the man who dropped the bomb. And just the end of that trailer was what I've been waiting for, too. So I won't spoil it for you unless you want to watch the trailer, but there's monsters coming. [00:34:07] Speaker B: Hey, I. I'm gonna probably just watch season one again before season two comes out, so I can. [00:34:12] Speaker A: I bought it back in it. I bought it. Did you need to. What? I need to watch it. Yeah. [00:34:16] Speaker B: Yeah, Good idea. [00:34:17] Speaker A: And it's 4K gloriousness. So here we go. [00:34:22] Speaker B: And then finally, streaming news. We've been actually. We've been talking about this for quite a while. I feel like we have this. The Splinter Cell animated series, which is starring Leif Schreiber, Sam Fisher. It's coming out October 14th. We got a trailer of that. It's from the John Wick creator. I mean, it. It looks fantastic. It looks like all these animated series that I need to catch up on, like Devil May Cry and Edge Runners, you know, it just looks great. [00:34:53] Speaker A: Who is the voice from the game is Michael Ironside. [00:34:56] Speaker B: Yeah, Michael Ironside. [00:34:57] Speaker A: Right? Okay. Yeah. Yeah. This looks awesome. And I got. [00:35:02] Speaker B: That was the only thing I was like, man. I just. I know his voice so well. I love those games and that. That was the only thing. I like Leave Shriver too, though. Yeah, I'm okay with it. [00:35:12] Speaker A: I'm okay with it. [00:35:13] Speaker B: All right, so let's go over to movie news. Stephen Knight will be writing the new 007 film. The creator of Peaky Blinders, he did that ska TV show that came out that nobody watched. [00:35:29] Speaker A: Did you watch it? [00:35:31] Speaker B: I didn't because I was hurt. I heard his bad, but that's fine. Whatever. Stephen Knight. I'm sure Dennis Villeneuve won't let him stray too far. And it's a good combination. I just want more Bond, for sure. [00:35:46] Speaker A: Especially like this. This word. The world is, like, open for them to just make Bond stuff now. So. Yes, it'll be really interesting to see where they take it to begin with. We'll see. Very exciting. [00:36:03] Speaker B: Yes. Cannot wait. As well as Cannot Wait for Highlander as it continues to round out the cast. We know that Russell Crowe is in the main. [00:36:14] Speaker A: Or. [00:36:15] Speaker B: Sorry, Henry Cavill's in the main row. Russell Crowe is Dominguez, which is kind of insane. Or Ramirez. Ramirez. [00:36:25] Speaker A: Like. [00:36:26] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:36:27] Speaker A: So they're actually, like, remaking it in a way. [00:36:29] Speaker B: Yes. So I'm sorry you guys got all screwed up because. Yeah. Dave Batista is going to be playing the Kurgan. [00:36:34] Speaker A: He's the Kurgan, even. Oh, my God. Yes. Oh, God. So interesting. [00:36:39] Speaker B: Yeah, it's. It's. I don't know. This is shaping up kind of. Kind of crazy. [00:36:47] Speaker A: Yes. And I can't wait. I just wish it was, like, not a remake. In a way, I wish it was something new, but I do like my Conor McLeod of the Clamor Cloud. And I will watch this, especially since it's Chad. Whatever his name is. [00:37:06] Speaker B: Staleski. [00:37:07] Speaker A: Stilleski. Thank you, Memes. [00:37:09] Speaker B: I know we got to keep a track. A lot of stuff. [00:37:12] Speaker A: Yeah. I'm very excited for this movie. Don't. Don't get me wrong. I'm just kind of like Russell Crowe. Is Ramirez, like, okay. Yeah. [00:37:21] Speaker B: I like how everyone's playing, like, these different. I mean, whatever. Like, what's his name wasn't exactly, you know, Latin either, so. [00:37:29] Speaker A: Sean Connery shot. It's a great role. I love that. [00:37:39] Speaker B: Yeah, it is a great role. I know. I just, you know, I think it's so funny, like, when you see, like, what's his name Playing Scarface, and I'm like, he's Italian in everything, but he's Cuban. Okay. [00:37:50] Speaker A: Okay. Why not? Sure. Why not? [00:37:53] Speaker B: Yeah. All right, we're getting more Final Destination. Newest One, bloodlines, made $285 million worldwide off of probably. [00:38:03] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:38:04] Speaker B: They usually only give those movies, like, 30 to $50 million, if that. So, yeah, big win. Why do they keep doing it? Because they keep making money. You guys keep seeing them, so don't ask the question. [00:38:17] Speaker A: That's it. I have. I have no questions. [00:38:20] Speaker B: Yeah, so that will be coming out at some point. We're also getting. This is a weird one here. [00:38:27] Speaker A: We're. [00:38:27] Speaker B: We're getting a. [00:38:29] Speaker A: A Rambo prequel. Yeah. [00:38:33] Speaker B: Noah and Tinio, who was attached to play he man, got dropped out of that, and now he's going to be playing Rambo in a First Blood prequel film. Does this have anything to do with James Cameron? No. Is it just a movie to try to make some money? Probably. Could it be good? Maybe. [00:38:53] Speaker A: Maybe. Yeah, Maybe. Maybe. I mean, it's interesting. [00:38:59] Speaker B: Did you watch. Have you watched any of those, like, Rambos, like, the newer ones? The two newest ones. Okay. Because they basically just turned into, like, Jason movies. [00:39:10] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:39:11] Speaker B: They're awesome. [00:39:12] Speaker A: I mean, they are. And it's like, if. If you can keep that. Fine. [00:39:17] Speaker B: That's what I'm saying. [00:39:18] Speaker A: Yeah. Pretty cool. Fine. Whatever. Like, what are we gonna. Like, we're gonna learn about them I like the way that Rambo opens. I like the way that it's structured and things like that. So it's just questionable if we need this. But. [00:39:31] Speaker B: No, I don't know. [00:39:32] Speaker A: We don't. [00:39:33] Speaker B: It's the money. We don't need it. We don't need any of these things. [00:39:36] Speaker A: But sliced alone, this guy, you know? [00:39:39] Speaker B: Right. No, that's absolutely true, but maybe he will be. [00:39:43] Speaker A: Maybe so. [00:39:47] Speaker B: I think we kind of hinted at this before, that we're getting a new scary movie, but now we see that Anna Fares and Regina hall are going to reprise the roles and coming back for the reunion. Cindy and Brenda. I like two of those movies, you know, and I think two of them are really, really funny. Like, really funny. Yeah, like the first two scary movies, you know what I mean? So, like, I'm not opposed to this, especially with, like, Naked Gun bringing back spoofs. I think we need more comedies in theaters because it just doesn't happen that often. [00:40:24] Speaker A: Did you. Did you see the fake PSA in. In the theater when Liam Neeson was talking about the comedies were dying? We need to see. [00:40:32] Speaker B: Yes. I mean, I do want to see that movie. I. I wanted to see that, but I ended up. The timing for Weapons worked out better. [00:40:40] Speaker A: Oh, that's good. But, yeah, I'll wait. I'll wait to see Naked Gun on at Home. That's nothing to see at home. No, no, neither is Weapons, but it's just like. Yeah, you're right. I think people actually really enjoyed the Naked Gun, and it is kind of time for us to laugh again since everything kind of sucks right now. We need some comedy in our lives. Comedy and hope. That's it. [00:41:11] Speaker B: That's it. And you know what's going to give us hope, Chris? [00:41:15] Speaker A: Not this. This is Masters of the Universe. [00:41:19] Speaker B: Yes. Master of the Universe, the new film that just wrapped up filming. We found out that Roboto will be in the film and that Kristen Wiig will be voicing the character. [00:41:31] Speaker A: Sure. [00:41:32] Speaker B: You know, it's probably gonna be CGI anyway. [00:41:34] Speaker A: Like, whatever. [00:41:34] Speaker B: I don't really care. I like. [00:41:36] Speaker A: Oh, for sure. [00:41:36] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:41:37] Speaker A: I. Listen, I just. I was like, what? When I saw this cast, I was like, this is April 1st. I don't. I don't know what day it is anymore. Yeah, whatever. I just. I was kind of confused by it. Just like, so they'll make Roboto a female in this. In this world or like. Or just the voice or. I don't know. So I don't. [00:41:58] Speaker B: I kind of feel like. Yeah, like, when you make like robots? Like, can you put genders on those? Like, maybe a draw. You're like. You know what I mean? [00:42:06] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:42:07] Speaker B: Synthetic. [00:42:08] Speaker A: Yes. [00:42:09] Speaker B: Robot. [00:42:12] Speaker A: Sex bots. You know, those definitely had a gender. Fair. Fair. But yes, Roboto is. Is definitely. I don't know. Not as Kristen Wiig. Now it is. Right? So whatever. I want to see this movie more than anything. So that's it. Every cheese looks better and better. So when's that footage coming out? [00:42:36] Speaker B: I know. I think December. Honestly, I think. I bet you it's a threat. It's attached to Tron because Jared Leto's in. In that. I wouldn't be surprised. [00:42:46] Speaker A: Okay, that's. That's great. [00:42:49] Speaker B: And then. [00:42:50] Speaker A: Yes. [00:42:50] Speaker B: Finally, finally, movie news. There's a new Archie movie. It's going to Universal. It's going to be produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. It's. Did you see who was writing this? [00:43:03] Speaker A: I did not. I'm looking right now. [00:43:05] Speaker B: Tom King. [00:43:07] Speaker A: Oh. Oh. I am book author. This is going to be the greatest comic book movie of all time. Holy shit. [00:43:16] Speaker B: We love Tom King. Apparently, whatever his take on it made sense for an event movie for all audiences, both lifelong fans and a whole new generation. I don't know what that means, but I know that I love Tom King. I love those two. Let's see how this goes. [00:43:36] Speaker A: So this is his first comic book movies. Writing nothing for the dcu. And they're, well, borrowing all his source material. [00:43:43] Speaker B: Right. [00:43:44] Speaker A: But I know he's helping with the strips on that. Yeah. This is awesome. And I hope it's like classic Archie in a way. We've gotten, like, the edgy Riverdale. We've gotten plenty of other renditions. I really wonder how they'll treat this. [00:44:00] Speaker B: There was that Indian one that came out last year, maybe this year of the Archies, where there was, like, Indian actors playing the characters too. So the Bollywood. [00:44:11] Speaker A: I don't. [00:44:12] Speaker B: Huh? [00:44:12] Speaker A: Was it a Bollywood? No, it was like a American production. [00:44:18] Speaker B: Maybe British. [00:44:19] Speaker A: Okay, interesting. [00:44:20] Speaker B: But, yeah, I remember going like, what is. [00:44:23] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:44:24] Speaker B: 2023 Indian Hindi language teen musical. [00:44:30] Speaker A: All right. [00:44:30] Speaker B: I remember seeing the trailer and being like, what is this? This? I think it's on Netflix, but nobody talked about it, so I don't think it was good. [00:44:40] Speaker A: So not the reason to turn on Netflix. But when I do. [00:44:43] Speaker B: No, definitely not. There's. [00:44:44] Speaker A: When I do other things. So. [00:44:47] Speaker B: All right, so let's jump over to gaming news. Octopath Traveler Zero. Is that the. Is that what it is? [00:44:57] Speaker A: It is. It is. Octopath Traveler 0Square Enix's latest game in that series. Those games are great. I mean, they're just JRPGs. You get. You get eight different characters. It takes place over, you know, different worlds, all of this kind of stuff. The, like, this is exciting news because I love the fact that we're getting an updated version of. Of it. There's like two of them out. Otherwise, I think Octopath Traveler and Octopath Trailer 2. [00:45:33] Speaker B: Yep. [00:45:34] Speaker A: Are out already have been out. This is gonna be hitting on December 4th. It'll be coming out for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 as well as all the other stuff out there. So, you know, if you're. You're a fan, you like Square Enix, like these types of games, jump on it. [00:45:57] Speaker B: I am. I am. So, you know, we didn't put this on here and I, I didn't know if you played it. Did you play Hollow Knight? [00:46:07] Speaker A: I didn't. Okay. It's something I've wanted to play. [00:46:12] Speaker B: Yeah. Because, like, Silk Song is also coming out like next week or in two. It's very soon. It's in September. They just kind of like dropped it. So. [00:46:22] Speaker A: So, yeah. [00:46:23] Speaker B: Excited to see how Hollow Knight Silksong turns out when it comes out next week. We also had reveals from Avatar the Last Airbender and its collaboration with Magic the Gathering. Obviously, Final Fantasy was massive for them. They have Edge of Eternities, they have Spider man next week. So the train is not stopping. But some of the cards revealed were pretty cool. And I think it's again, you know, they confirmed that Edge of Eternities or Sorry Universe is beyond. Sorry, they're kind of ancillary. But still within the Universe products have sold very well this year and it's been a massive year for magic in general. Kind of the way that, like, DND had a resurgence in Covid magic is having a similar kind of renaissance right now. And all of these collaborations, despite some of the hardcore magic users poo poohing on them, it is bringing a ton of new players to the franchise. And I can't complain about that. [00:47:31] Speaker A: No, we can't. We've only been playing the game for a year. [00:47:36] Speaker B: Touche. I also just don't care. No, I just don't care. [00:47:42] Speaker A: We never have. Because there's this. If the game is popular, if more people are getting involved in it and it's going to keep it alive. All right. I already played a TCG that died and it was the worst thing ever because I spent a ton of money on it and I was like, I'm never going to do this. Shit again. And then I did because I'm an addict. These, I love the show. I love the shows. Like these look great. I'm. I was not like, I'm not buying Spider man out of my, my values of not buying like superhero cards for any TCGs anymore. I'm not doing it. So I'm really excited for this because I'm one of the people that helped, you know, drive these prices up to insane amounts. You're welcome. Even though I paid MSRP for most things, you know, it's, it's just really, it's really kind of crazy to me to see how fast this sells out. I was, I was able to get a bundle pre ordered and I got that starter kit for my, my gaming club and stuff like that. But. And I. You, you can order some stuff still. There's not really a big problem with like booster boxes and things like that, but like collector stuff. Gone. Gone. Spider Man 2. It's like all that stuff is way up in price now, which makes sense. People are going to resell it. And these cards look amazing. The showcase cards, the way that they've, the way they're handling the characters and their powers and, and the different bending, you know, the bending and how they relate to the magic mana. I, I'm really excited for this set and I know I'll buy more of it when it comes out, but this, this pre order stuff is just insane to me. I went on to Best Buy and I tried to buy the bundle on there and it was like, put me in the queue like, like freaking Cical Air does. And it was actually sold out by the time I was like trying to check out. So the demand for this stuff is extremely high and it's getting scalped. So don't, don't be fooled by, you know, that's also driving these prices up because they're getting bought up by people that are going to make a good amount of money on the second, on the second and third dairy market. So you know, just the Final Fantasy stuff has gone down in price. A lot of. It's still worth a lot of money. Yes, it is. It's held its price for the most part. Gone down a certain percentage. But you can get your hands on stuff and you'll be able to get your hands on this stuff eventually as well. So don't, don't feed, don't feed the bears. Don't get fomo. Yeah. Just they'll, there'll be stuff out there for you if you're excited about this kind of stuff. [00:50:27] Speaker B: I completely agree. I saw some of the prices of Spider man have even dropped. And I think they will continue because I think that people, they don't care about Spider man as much in magic. And I think like, yeah, it was cool. The hype train. Because scalpers probably drove up those initial prices. They ain't gonna stay like that. [00:50:47] Speaker A: No. It was all. It was Final Fantasy. You know what I mean? It was all this. [00:50:50] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:50:50] Speaker A: Final Fantasy did it. Final Fantasy broke it. And all of a sudden like, oh, well, now Spider Man's gonna set. [00:50:57] Speaker B: Yep. [00:50:57] Speaker A: We'll just do this to that. It's not. It doesn't like that set doesn't fit in my eyes. Like for magic. I'm sure there'll be some good stuff in there. But everybody's just trying to get that infinity stone and try to sell it. You know what I mean? It's just. It is with anything you collect. This is the world we live in. But just be patient and have fun with the game because that's what it's about. [00:51:19] Speaker B: That's right. And look out for Wookiee the Wayfarer. This is another one of the trailers that dropped. It's a Joseon era fantasy action adventure from Korea. It looks super creepy. It looks super awesome. You know, we've been getting a lot of different Asian influenced games and we're going to talk about another one in a minute. But there's something specifically creepy about Japanese or sorry, Korean demons for me. And this one is really kind of laying into it real thick. [00:51:56] Speaker A: Can you elaborate on that fear a little bit? [00:51:59] Speaker B: Their faces are creepy. [00:52:01] Speaker A: Okay. [00:52:02] Speaker B: And it haunts me. That is the fear. What I'm not afraid of is ghost but also vampires. Vampire survivors. The game that just keeps giving. We are now going to be getting a vampires survivors board game. We're gonna be getting a Kickstarter for it. 2 to 4 player co op. We're gonna have the roguelite elements. A little bit of deck building in there as well. Waves of enemies are coming at you just like they do in the video game. And I can't. I. I don't know. The games take 45 minutes. You get to add more, you know, different weapons. Like it sounds like this could be epic. [00:52:49] Speaker A: Sounds pretty cool. Yeah. [00:52:51] Speaker B: For sure. So I'm positive once the Kickstarter goes live and they have a link, we will put it in the crowd Sorcery. Because we don't want to stop supporting this game. And then other board game news clue. Godzilla is out. We'll leave. We'll leave the Link in here because you can buy it now. That's it. I don't really have much else to say other than it's clue. [00:53:15] Speaker A: Godzilla. I do I say was really funny when I came across this because I was like, yeah, I was just like randomly shopping for Godzilla stuff and this popped up in my feed. I was like, what does this even look like? Right? And then I looked at the board and I'm like, this is cool. I really want to play this. Like, like Rodan killed it killed the person with, with a tree on an island. Do I win? Yes, you win. It's wild. It's really cool. So I don't know, I. $44. Maybe it'll go down in price eventually, but probably not. I will have to really debate buying this event. I actually just picked up a really cool Godzilla encyclopedia the other day and when I went to Berkeley to this bookstore and it was just like, yeah, I was like, I'm not buying this. I'm not buying. It was like 30 something dollars. And I was like, yep, I don't want to spend the money on this. And my wife was like, just buy it. You know you want it. You know you want it. It's awesome. It's. It's by Titan. It's really comprehensive. It goes up to Singular Point. So it's got, you know, Shin Godzilla, Singular Point, the next Netflix ones. And then everything that happened before it. Not, not minus one. But yeah, it's a super cool encyclopedia. So yeah, Godzilla well worth it. [00:54:37] Speaker B: Well worth it. So like I said, we'll leave the link in there for that. And then just kind of wrapping up with like the Gamescon news. We got a really, really cool 16 bit kind of arcade style messages in the universe. Dragon Pearl of Destruction. The trailers effing great. The gameplay looks great. I don't know what else to say other than I need this game immediately and I don't know why it took this long for them to do it. [00:55:08] Speaker A: Yeah, I hope it's. I hope it's good. I ended up, I ended up buying that GI Joe one. I got it kind of cheap and it was okay. It wasn't Shredder's Revenge. Well, you know, it wasn't anything like that. [00:55:18] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:55:19] Speaker A: So I really hope it's good because like these, these beat them up brawlers have been coming back strong and yep. Getting all these properties that we loved growing up and then reminding us how we used to just pump quarters into arcade machines. So yeah, this, like you said, that trailer was awesome. It is such a cool like, made trailer. [00:55:41] Speaker B: So, yeah, I. I'm pumped up about this game so much. Next up we have Toxic Commando, a game that we've been talking about for the last couple years. It. John Carpenter's game. It's going to be released early 2026. Yeah. I guess after two years of silence. Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment. It looks good, honestly. I think, I think it has, you know, over the top action and that's kind of. I'm all about. [00:56:15] Speaker A: Looks bonkers, honestly. And I just think, like, it would be a really cool game to play together. So we should keep it on. [00:56:23] Speaker B: Yes, yes, absolutely. Once we get more for this, we will, you know, we'll share it out with you guys. I'll leave a link to the trailer in here so you can kind of take a look at just how wild this thing is. So all in other John Carpenter news, he has a Halloween game coming out as well. This is another one of those survival stealth games where like someone's Michael Myers and the other people are victims. I'm kind of over it. [00:56:56] Speaker A: I don't. [00:56:58] Speaker B: I don't really. What. [00:57:00] Speaker A: But they made a point in the trailer that the single player experience is there. [00:57:07] Speaker B: Yes. [00:57:08] Speaker A: So that's the difference between like a lot of these other games. And if it's. They say, like, there's a. There's a bot mode, there's. And then there's the straight up, like single player mode. Which. Great. This is what you're saying is true. Like those party games, all that kind of stuff is like they've run their course and even the Friday the 13th one got shut down, like, eventually because people. [00:57:33] Speaker B: So did Evil Dead. That's kind of where I'm like, yeah. It's like, okay, are you going to just give us the single player experience and the multiplayer gets dropped. [00:57:41] Speaker A: Right? That's. [00:57:44] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:57:44] Speaker A: That sucks. [00:57:46] Speaker B: Yeah, that's. Sorry. Like, that's the only thing is, like, it could be cool. I'll probably try it out if it's free, but I'm not gonna buy it or anything. [00:57:55] Speaker A: No, not at first. [00:57:56] Speaker B: Yeah. So anyway, so that's coming up next, Black Myth, which already had the Wukong video game. We're kind of getting a follow up here with the Chinese deity Zhang Kui, who is the king of ghost. What does that mean? It just means the game looks effing awesome and it makes me want to go play that last game. And everyone loved it. [00:58:25] Speaker A: So I. It. [00:58:26] Speaker B: I knew there'd be a sequel, which is crazy. [00:58:29] Speaker A: It's this soon, honestly. Yes. [00:58:32] Speaker B: Yes. [00:58:32] Speaker A: Like, I was Thinking about that, I was just like, well, I read Black Myth. I'm like, wait a minute. You know? And then I watched it, and I looked it up, and I was like, oh, my God, there's. They're continuing, like, Chinese mythology in another game so soon, and I haven't even played the first one I want to play so badly, which is, like, a complete, like, rendition of Journey to the west, which I'm going to probably go by as soon as possible now. [00:58:56] Speaker B: So his. His character is a Ghostbuster. Like, oh, my gosh. [00:59:04] Speaker A: All right. [00:59:05] Speaker B: Yeah, we got it. We got to try these out. [00:59:07] Speaker A: So. [00:59:07] Speaker B: Yeah, that's coming out. [00:59:09] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:59:10] Speaker B: Probably talk about it again in a year. I can't even. This is really fast to have a trailer. I was shocked. So pretty. [00:59:17] Speaker A: Oh, my God. Yeah. [00:59:19] Speaker B: And then we have a trailer for Wild Blue, which came out of nowhere. You know, I always like to give Nintendo a little bit of shit because we haven't had a Star Fox anything in so long. And this is it. This is your Star fox from the 90s. It's not. But it looks like it, and it looks awesome. And I cannot wait to try this game out. [00:59:42] Speaker A: I mean, it. It is completely Star Fox. I was sitting there watching this trailer. I'm like, yes, yes. Everything they do is Star Fox. Like, they homage it so well. [00:59:54] Speaker B: Yes, they do. [00:59:55] Speaker A: And it's. And it just looks. It looks great. And the fact that we're Getting this in 20, 25, whatever, 26. Is just a treat. It's a treat. [01:00:06] Speaker B: So, yeah, finally, a new quote, unquote, Star Fox. [01:00:12] Speaker A: Yes. Somebody's got to do it. [01:00:14] Speaker B: That's it. And then finally, in Video Game News, by sweet Carol, this is a narrative horror game inspired by classic animation movies. It looks so creepy, and it gives you kind of like, the. What is it? Cuphead vibes a little bit. But it's just like. It's a weird narrative horror game, but with cartoons. [01:00:41] Speaker A: It gives me Disney vibes. Yeah, complete. Complete Disney vibes. Because there's, like, music in it. There's, like, cutesy characters, and all of a sudden, it gets bonkers. And I'm just, what. What is this game? Because at first, I wasn't gonna watch the trailer, and I was like, this. This kind of looks interesting. So. And my wife likes, like, those kind of narrative games, but she's not gonna play this kind of game. But, yeah, this really. This really took me by surprise and creeped me the hell out. So. [01:01:13] Speaker B: Yes. Yeah. A Disney horror game. Hopefully it's good, and hopefully it spawns a cartoon as well, just like Cuphead. But, Chris, it's the end of our show, man. Where can you find us? [01:01:28] Speaker A: Oh, man, we're all over the. I know, I know. I'm crying over here. [01:01:33] Speaker B: Sorry. [01:01:34] Speaker A: Give me a tissue. You can find us all over the interwebs. We're at a little website called don't Forget a towel.com defend entertainment.com. dEFAT? Defend Entertainment podcast network. Check that out. And then we're on. I guess we're on social medias at Defat? Ent D F A T E N T. That's it. [01:01:59] Speaker B: We're everywhere. We are. [01:02:00] Speaker A: We're everywhere. And I love your. We're in your head. [01:02:04] Speaker B: That's it. So this is Casey saying, go read some comics. [01:02:11] Speaker A: And this is Chris saying, don't forget a towel.
