Episode Transcript
[00:00:03] Speaker A: DFAT Entertainment.
Welcome to the 262nd episode of Towelite Talk. This is Chris, this is Casey, and we are back. It's 10 years in, buddy. We're in our 10th year anniversary of Towelite Talk.
[00:00:26] Speaker B: Feeling good?
Yeah, for sure.
[00:00:30] Speaker A: Yeah. We've been rocking it for a decade. Podcasting, talking about the geek news. We're about to lay a new episode on you. So very excited. A lot of good news, this show. But let me know, what have you been geeking out on?
[00:00:44] Speaker B: Well, you know, been going to the movies a lot lately, so, you know, I've seen Paddington and I saw Captain America. And you know what I haven't seen, though? Like, the ones I also want to see, like Love Hurts and Companion. And, you know, I watch Wicked again, which I added to the thing. So, yeah, you know, it's been watching a lot of good movies, which has been, you know, we watched Substance. I think we talked about last time, too, but just quality. Oh, I watched Blink Twice. Did you watch that on Amazon?
[00:01:21] Speaker A: No.
[00:01:23] Speaker B: So Zoe Kravitz directed this movie with Channing Tatum, and I had very low expectations. I was like, oh, you know, this might. I thought it was gonna be like some kind of, like, flashy kind of thing. And it's just a pretty well thought out, like, horror thriller movie. I was actually quite surprised by it. And everybody now that I've talked to who's actually watched it and did just kind of swear it off, I was like, oh, it was actually a good, good movie.
It's kind of a little get out vibes a little bit, but okay. I don't know. It was good. Both my wife and I were both. We talked about it, like, the next day, like, still thinking about that movie Link Twice, huh? Yeah.
[00:02:07] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, check that out. What are you. What are you geeking out on sports? Bring up movies first. I also went to the theater, which I don't do very often, but I saw Captain America as well. It's fun times, fun times.
But at home, I've been watching a few different movies. I watched. I watched the Gorge, which I really liked. It was a lot of fun.
I just watched Nosferatu the other night because that finally dropped on Peacock, and I really liked it.
Yeah, he's just such a good director. He really is.
[00:02:41] Speaker B: That movie is so beautiful.
[00:02:42] Speaker A: It is, exactly. And like, the way he shoots things and all that, it's just. He's a. He's a. He's a true outdoor. So it's like, I love watching his movies and I'm excited to See, you know what he's got on, on next? Werewolf. Yes. The Werewolf one. And then Labyrinth, the Labyrinth sequel or whatever. Yeah, well, so very cool video games. I. I finished lords of Shadow 1 and the Little Interlude game, which I never knew Mirror Fate was like a classic Castlevania game. So it's side scrolling. It's set between the two Lord of Shadows games. Very cool. It's fun.
It's a neat little chapter.
Lord the Shadow is great. I'm on Lord of Shadows.
[00:03:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:03:26] Speaker A: Yeah. Lord of the Shadow 2 got a lot of like negative reviews and I'm playing it. I don't understand why the gameplay is better.
[00:03:35] Speaker B: Okay. No, you were those Darksiders games.
[00:03:38] Speaker A: Mm, yep.
[00:03:40] Speaker B: Those are always really good games. And people like. I mean, there was definitely fans. I think they made like three or four of them. But I feel like it's the same thing with Castlevania. It's like I, I've never heard anything good about those. I don't know.
[00:03:53] Speaker A: There's a Shadow got really good reviews and people like the game. The second one they say is like, oh, there's too many cinematics, blah, blah, blah. I'm like, sure, that doesn't bother me because. Yeah, yeah. Like, I don't want to spoil, like, maybe I just spoil it. But the. Where it's set is way different and so it's really cool. And you do all this back and forth stuff and. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. So it's, it's a cool, It's a cool game. I like that series a lot. So. But that's it. Just awesome.
[00:04:23] Speaker B: Awesome.
[00:04:23] Speaker A: Geeking out.
[00:04:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:04:25] Speaker A: So let's get in the news. We got, we got a lot of stuff since the last show, a lot of Marvel stuff. We'll start with the Fantastic Four trailer because with Captain America, we got to see on the big screen. You saw on the big screen. Oh, yeah, it was great. Yeah, for sure.
[00:04:42] Speaker B: You know, just happy to see him back, like in that way. I like that TV show, but there's always a different feeling being in the theater. And I, I was excited to see a Hulk, A Hulk doing a Hulk things. So my, my expectations were very low for this movie. I just was like, you know, let's get to. We'll see how it is. But I really, I came out being like, yep, that was fun.
[00:05:12] Speaker A: No, I agree, I agree completely with that. I. I just found it was like there was. The only thing that bothered me the most was like, if it was like Winter Soldier, it was the same plot in a way. This fake Black Widow. Like. Yeah, fake Black Widow, but, you know.
[00:05:27] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:05:28] Speaker A: It just felt very like Winter Soldier. Same plot, same thing. And. But I don't care, because it's a comic book movie, and that's what comic books do. And it was fun. And they. You know, they brought back. They brought back some stuff from the Hulk movie, which is great, you know, but they finally, like, tied those strings into the MCU in a good way. And know, I had. I had a really good time, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the year, especially.
Especially Fantastic Four, which. I thought that trailer was great. It was just. It was. The setting looks great. They look great. Galactus gave me chills, and I just. I still really feel like what we saw is only the first part of the movie, and then they go and do something crazier. So I don't know. I'm excited for that movie. And July is going to be an awesome comic book movie month.
[00:06:15] Speaker B: Yeah, I. I would say that Fantastic Four is probably the most excited I am at a Marvel movie in a long time, so really excited about it.
[00:06:26] Speaker A: Agreed.
We got more Thunderbolts trailers. This, of course, it was attached to. You know, they're really hyping it now. Since the next movie, I'm way more excited for it than I was when it was first announced, because it looks fun, it looks funny.
And then, of course, the sentries in it, and they're showing more of, like, the void and the century. And it's. What. He's one of my favorite characters from the 2000s, and I'm really excited to see how they bring him into the mcu.
[00:06:55] Speaker B: I didn't watch this trailer because I was like, what do you do, close.
[00:07:01] Speaker A: Your eyes in the theater?
[00:07:03] Speaker B: Yeah. I actually just. I just looked down at the popcorn.
[00:07:08] Speaker A: Yeah. It's pretty cool.
Yeah. I just. I think it's gonna be a good time. Good. What I think is gonna be a really better time, though, is Daredevil, and it starts next week on March 4th. Next Tuesday.
[00:07:20] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh. Are you serious?
[00:07:23] Speaker A: Yes. Starts in a week.
We've waited so long. So long. Casey.
But we finally got that TV spot. Did you. You didn't watch that, right?
You didn't watch the trailer? They did a TV spot. I don't need it. Nothing. I didn't watch this TV spot, now that I think about it, because there's more stuff. Yeah.
[00:07:43] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:07:44] Speaker A: So very excited. Very excited for what? All the implications are. Everything. They're hyping what I saw in that first trailer and the fact that we're going back to hopefully, the violence side of the mcu.
[00:07:58] Speaker B: I mean, do. I mean. Yes. But isn't also. I feel like what was. It was kind of like Moon Knight was a bit violent.
[00:08:09] Speaker A: Yeah. Could have been. I like moonlight fine. It was fine and it was violent. But it's not like Moon Knight could have been or what.
[00:08:17] Speaker B: Right.
[00:08:18] Speaker A: I mean, the Netflix shows are. You know what I mean?
[00:08:20] Speaker B: Right.
[00:08:20] Speaker A: Neither was Echo. Like, Echo is, like, promising. Like, us. It's gonna be just like. And it was. It was. It was. Echo is okay. But they. But I'm really, like, the crazy stuff they show in that trailer is just like, okay, let's see if you can, you know, fulfill your promises.
[00:08:38] Speaker B: Kevin's Viking. He's there for us.
[00:08:40] Speaker A: Yes, always.
Next up, Vision Quest.
Rorty Molica. I guess that's what I'm going with on this. Pronunciation. Name sounds good. Has been cast in Vision Quest. I don't know who he's been cast in as, but they seem to be building Vision.
[00:08:59] Speaker B: He looks like Paul Bettany, right?
I don't know.
[00:09:04] Speaker A: Yeah, well, you never know. They did do it where Vision had, like, this fake family. Yeah.
[00:09:12] Speaker B: I'm just saying.
[00:09:14] Speaker A: Interesting. All right. Yeah. All right.
So that. Yeah, that's on its way. And then also in Marvel News, this is big, big one. They did that whole new Ultimate Universe, and people have been loving it. Some really good stuff out there. But Miles Morales, who came from the original ultimate universe into the 616, is going to be going back into this. Not back into it, but into this new Ultimate Universe, which is a really cool crossover.
[00:09:43] Speaker B: What do you think about that Ultimate Spider man incursion?
You know, I listen, it looks good. Like, the artwork is actually looking very amazing. And I like, you know, I like what they've been doing in this universe, so I would check it out for sure.
[00:10:06] Speaker A: It's a neat concept. I can't believe it's been 10 years since Secret Wars. So that's. That's making me feel old.
Speaking of old, I think it's been like 20 years since Marvel and DC first had a. Or last had their crossover. 30 announced. Right.
[00:10:26] Speaker B: 90S.
[00:10:27] Speaker A: Two decades. Over two decades. I think there was something after Melgan or whatever it is. Evangellen or. I don't know how to pronounce the word.
[00:10:36] Speaker B: Yeah, the amalgam universe.
[00:10:37] Speaker A: There was something after that, whether it was like Justice League.
[00:10:42] Speaker B: Okay. Avengers with Kurt Bizek, Joe by. Drawn by George Perez. That was four part series.
[00:10:51] Speaker A: Teen Titans. And somebody also crossed over or Something like that. So. Okay. Yeah.
And those are actually all getting. All of those old crossovers are getting rereleased in omnibuses. But this year there'll be a big, big crossover with two issues. Only one is called Marvel dc. The other one, it's called DC Marvel. No surprise.
So there's no more details at this point. But, you know, this. This sounds pretty epic, honestly. Yeah.
[00:11:22] Speaker B: Yeah. That is, like you said, it's been that long. So worth checking out. Definitely. That's some good comic book news.
[00:11:31] Speaker A: Good, right? Isn't it?
So let's jump into DC and we'll talk about some more comic book news. News then, like this one. James Watkins will be directing Clayface, the Mike Flanagan scripted movie which has now joined chapter one of Gods and Monsters. It makes sense because he is a monster. And as the ever changing DC film slate.
We'll see because James Gunn talked about that as well. Just kind of how it will always be changing depending on what's. What they decide to work on. So never written in stone. What did James.
[00:12:12] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:12:13] Speaker A: Do. What was he.
[00:12:14] Speaker B: He did. He just recently did Speak no Evil. That.
Did you watch that one, James McAvoy, that psychological one, that's another. That was a good one, too.
The other one's better, actually Blink twice, but it's still really good. So, yeah, you know that whatever Flanagan's involved, that guy did a good movie. Like, okay.
The fact that we're getting a Clayface movie, like, I don't care. Just bring it.
[00:12:44] Speaker A: It's interesting.
[00:12:47] Speaker B: I love Nightwing movie.
[00:12:50] Speaker A: Right. I mean, it's just. It's all. It's all speculation until it's actually. I mean, Teen Titans is supposed to come. Right. And who knows what that. Who knows?
[00:12:58] Speaker B: At least we got a director writer for this. Like, this is chugging along.
[00:13:02] Speaker A: And that's what Gun said. It's like everything has to be right in order for it to move forward. And this had been speculated for a while. So whatever, man. James Gunn is also starting, you know, script on his next movie, and everybody thinks it's Superman 2, which I'm sure it is, but no, it's something else. I think it's something.
[00:13:22] Speaker B: I think he's smart enough to. Don't not do the Guardians thing again, I hope. Honestly, just tell stories. Do the one and done. You came in for Suicide Squad. You did good. The Superman movie so far looks really good. Go take over a Batman and you know what I mean? Like, just have a vision, which he seems to do.
[00:13:40] Speaker A: Yes, yes.
But speaking of Superman, we'll Be getting some crypto. The Superdog shorts after the Superman movie drops, this was announced.
So we're getting some stories about, you know, little short stories about crypto, which another cool little way to tell stories within the new dcu.
[00:13:59] Speaker B: So, you know, and that's it. They're really playing into all of us in ways that we want, you know what I mean? Like, keep this linear story going.
[00:14:10] Speaker A: I love it.
[00:14:11] Speaker B: Keep building out that universe.
[00:14:13] Speaker A: Yeah, build it out. You're already in it as we're starting it, so everything's existing and you can do basically anything you want. You don't have to go and tell origins. You can just go tell stories.
I guess the most exciting thing I heard was that there was more animated series in the work than we originally were told. So more animation, the better. It can just come out faster. And speaking of that, speaking of Future Commandos, Season 2 is on the fast track. There we go. Can't wait for that. It was a great show where we got that look at Clayface as a character, and all of a sudden he's got his own movie. So there we go. Very cool.
If you remember Dark Knight's Metal from a few years back, Scott Snyder and Pullo, it's getting a mobile and PC game called DC Dark Legion. It's heading our way in March, and it's going to let players recruit superheroes and villains to fight off multiversal threats.
So we'll see what this is like, if this is a pay to win or. Or what it is. But it looks like there's PvP and some other stuff. Maybe it's going up against rivals. You never know.
[00:15:23] Speaker B: Maybe it would make. I mean, rivals exploded really, really quickly, so. And I haven't played it because I'm afraid to.
Have you played it?
[00:15:35] Speaker A: I have.
[00:15:36] Speaker B: It's been crazy.
[00:15:38] Speaker A: I mean, people love it. It's just not my cup of tea, you know, it's. I'm not really that big. Multiplayer.
[00:15:45] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:15:46] Speaker A: Like those games. I had fun. I played it with my nephew. I tried out some of the characters and I could see why people would like it, but it's not for me.
[00:15:56] Speaker B: You know what is for me? This. Next.
[00:15:58] Speaker A: What's that? The next one.
[00:15:59] Speaker B: Next?
[00:16:00] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, yeah. The Batman Ninja trailer.
Batman Ninja versus the Yakuza, I believe it's called.
So we got the Yakuza.
[00:16:09] Speaker B: Did you watch this trailer?
[00:16:10] Speaker A: I didn't. Not yet. Oh, crazy.
[00:16:14] Speaker B: My God. Yeah, I watched it right before we started the show. This is like one of the best trailers I've seen in a long Time and it's too long. It's four and a half minutes. So like, I just kind of fast forwarded once I was like in to get. So it's basically fate of Atlantis. He has to go to a different world where the. The Justice League are the Yakuza.
So they're all samurai. They are all Yakuza head tribes members. An Aquaman Yakuza, a Wonder Woman, Green Lantern. And Batman and Robin have to take down all.
And then Joker's there. It looks insane in. In the best way it looks even like, I like Batman ninja. It was pretty good. It was a little too kind of crazy. This like. This is like a classic comic book story. Plus, like flashes in like a like samurai outfit.
[00:17:15] Speaker A: All right.
[00:17:16] Speaker B: Yeah, you gotta watch this trailer.
[00:17:17] Speaker A: I will watch that trailer when we're done with the show. Yeah, very cool. Yeah, Yeah, I look forward to that. And then also in the Batman realm of news, we're getting a Batman is going back to number one, which it does. Is only done so often.
[00:17:36] Speaker B: Yeah, every couple years.
[00:17:39] Speaker A: And so it's going to be a new ongoing creative team. So this is exciting because it's mad fractions. Return to comics and going to read some Batman, which is exciting.
And then he's going to have art by Jorge Jimenez. And this is coming out in September. We're getting an updated blue and gray costume with a new Batman logo on the front. New Batmobile and more. So this.
Whatever, it's Batman. It's a new take. All new, all different. Whatever you want to call it. All in.
And I'll check it out too.
[00:18:12] Speaker B: I mean, the artwork.
[00:18:14] Speaker A: He.
[00:18:14] Speaker B: He is one of the best. Really great artists. And I love this new. I don't know, like, the color palette. Like, I love Matt Fraction. You know, he's funny. Like, see what he does with Batman. Like, come on. This is a. This is a win.
[00:18:33] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. I was like, the whole thing I was thinking was like, when he did Iron Fist, you know, his iron Fist is insane.
[00:18:42] Speaker B: Is that it's. It's probably better than Hawkeye. And I love that Hawkeye. I love that Hawkeye. So, you know, it's hard to say, actually. All right, what's next?
[00:18:54] Speaker A: We're gonna jump over to Star wars. And today, right before our show. Perfect timing. The andor season.
Right. And. Or season two trailer drops.
And it was. That's a really fun trailer. It's got the music and everything you want to see.
[00:19:12] Speaker B: Great trailer. Great, great trailer. Really high energy. Like. And you know what? This is it, right? Like, you should go all in. Just fucking go balls to the wall. Like, who cares?
[00:19:24] Speaker A: Right? There's the whole. This was. This is gonna jump around different times, few different arcs, which is kind of nice too, so you don't have to be like too heavy in one.
It looks like it's going to have some like good humor as well. And. And a little bit awesome, you know. Exactly, exactly. So, yeah, I'm pumped for this.
[00:19:44] Speaker B: Morphle C. Mads Mikkelsen.
[00:19:47] Speaker A: You know what? I was thinking about this too. When they show. When they show the Death Star and I was just like, man, that whole, you know, I forgot what that prequel to. To.
[00:19:57] Speaker B: That's a great book.
[00:19:58] Speaker A: What is that?
[00:19:59] Speaker B: Is that what you're talking about?
[00:20:00] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, I'll look it up. Yeah. I can't even remember the prequel to Rogue One. Yeah, yeah. What the hell is the name of that movie?
That was a great book.
[00:20:10] Speaker B: Catalyst.
[00:20:11] Speaker A: Catalyst.
[00:20:12] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:20:13] Speaker A: So I wonder if they'll tie in at all to that or that.
[00:20:16] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, it's great.
[00:20:19] Speaker A: So interesting.
And then next up, Star wars celebration badges, which is gonna be in Japan this year, have dropped. And this is great. It's just. And I'll leave this in here because a lot of cool, like Japanese rendered Star wars art. I would. I want this collection.
[00:20:38] Speaker B: This Ahsoka. I mean, come on.
Yeah, I mean, come on. They're all great, but. Yes, yes.
[00:20:46] Speaker A: So cool.
Actually reminds me of when I bought that Ahsoka, Japanese art. And I still have somewhere in my house, so I gotta find that very cool stuff.
And looks like we'll have to go to Japan.
[00:21:03] Speaker B: Yeah, that's just it, buddy.
[00:21:09] Speaker A: Then next up, a crowd sorcery. This is. What is Ink Console, Casey?
[00:21:14] Speaker B: So this is. It's this cool thing. It's not out yet. It's coming to. At least right now it's on crowd supply. But it's an E reader but for like interactive books. So you remember those reading books from back in the day on our original like PCs, you know what I mean? Where it would be like, you know, go left or right, whatever, that sort of choose your own adventure like those early ones. So this is that. But you can also read books and also play some of these old like Zork games.
[00:21:48] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:21:48] Speaker B: Choose your own adventure. A lot of this stuff from the early 80s and 90s someone's putting into it, so I don't know what the cost is going to be. But it's also open source, which means anyone could then design for it. Like even new games if they want to. So this seems like the kind of thing that, like, would I use it all the time? No, but it would be really cool just to kind of like having an airport, you know what I mean? Or on the beach.
[00:22:16] Speaker A: So yeah, that's a really cool idea. I like this thing and the open sourcing sounds amazing.
Any word on when it's going to drop? No, not yet. Right?
[00:22:29] Speaker B: Yeah, not yet.
[00:22:31] Speaker A: Project launching soon. All right, well, we'll keep you updated.
[00:22:35] Speaker B: Absolutely.
[00:22:38] Speaker A: So it's time to jump to some commercials and then we'll be back with the rest of the show.

[00:23:18] Speaker A: Oi. Over 20 points of articulation, great sculpting. And look at the paint job on her.
[00:23:25] Speaker B: We've been looking all over for this one.
[00:23:27] Speaker A: Let's get him enough sights and end this hunt now.
All right, all right. Steady, steady now.
[00:23:36] Speaker B: Got em.
[00:23:38] Speaker A: It's the pursuit of Plastic.

[00:24:23] Speaker B: Of pursuit of Plastic?
[00:24:25] Speaker A: We haven't done that in so long.
Anyways, first up in Toy News, so Mattel wants to compete with Lego and so they're coming up with this thing called Mattel Brickshop.
[00:24:40] Speaker B: Stupidest effin idea that I've ever heard in my entire life.
[00:24:44] Speaker A: Is it? I mean, Mega Blocks, I think they own Megablocks, right, Mattel?
I think so, sure.
So it's like you're going to compete with yourself, but I mean, whatever. Here's the thing.
What can they get, like licensing that LEGO can't, right?
[00:25:01] Speaker B: Exactly.
[00:25:02] Speaker A: Right. Motu.
[00:25:05] Speaker B: Hot Wheels, Thomas the Tank Engine Pocket Barbie, American Girl. Like Uno.
Like, come on, you're going to compete against Dungeons and Dragons in Lord of The Rings and you know, these insane X men mansion like $8,000 sets that people buy for Star Wars.
[00:25:28] Speaker A: No, and I know how you do that.
[00:25:30] Speaker B: I think it's stupid.
[00:25:32] Speaker A: You know how you do it though? You make stuff for little kids that are price point friendly for families. That's it. Because Lego, LEGO can do it. They're just. The rest of the stuff is priced out for collectors for sure.
[00:25:44] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:25:44] Speaker A: So you know what's funny was they. They actually like the Mega blocks. They did a GI Joe one.
It was a Mattel Creations weird GI Joe building set. When the planes with. With minifigures on Mattel. Yeah. And it's a Hasbro product. So these crossovers are interesting too because it's like if Hasbro and Mattel teamed up and they could use some other. Some of their licensing.
[00:26:12] Speaker B: But it's like Hasbro is already mixed in with Lego.
[00:26:15] Speaker A: Right?
[00:26:16] Speaker B: You know, I don't know.
[00:26:19] Speaker A: No, I don't either.
[00:26:19] Speaker B: They'll see, you know. Hey, listen, we'll talk about it when we see what happens.
[00:26:23] Speaker A: Exactly. Exactly.
But speaking of Master Universe, these mondo 1:6 scale figures are awesome. This is a little bit older news, but I did want to talk about this because these figures are just getting more and more amazing looking, especially from like the start that they had.
And so they made an evil Lyn.
It comes with Screech, the evil hawk thing. She comes with various heads and of course more accessories. But these are looking really awesome. But I'm glad I stopped collecting.
[00:26:56] Speaker B: That's it, you know. And we'll talk about the next one they actually just released today or very. Yeah, I think it was today they released this look like I. You know. So Wolverine from X Men 97. It looks insane.
Like the, the articulation of it looks better. Like the. You could tell the joints there. There's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 different heads.
[00:27:29] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:27:30] Speaker B: There's a sentinel head.
[00:27:31] Speaker A: Indeed.
[00:27:32] Speaker B: Like, these are insane. Looking into your point, if I started with one, there is no way I would be able to stop. When you can recreate that Gambit and Wolverine like scene. Like, are you kidding me?
[00:27:45] Speaker A: For sure. It's kind of neat how like this claws are separate too.
[00:27:49] Speaker B: I know.
[00:27:50] Speaker A: What are you doing? So this drops tomorrow on mondo shop.com the February 25th. Depending on when the show comes out, there is a timed exclusive or it's a timed edition figure. This whole thing is. So this may be gone by the time you hear the show. So sorry if you missed out. It's great. It's a great figure.
[00:28:08] Speaker B: Really, really good.
[00:28:12] Speaker A: Last of the toy news. Another company is going to attempt to make Star Trek action figures and collectibles.
And we'll see how that goes this time. Master Replicas has announced new. New figures.
[00:28:26] Speaker B: Look okay.
[00:28:29] Speaker A: Yeah. Based on newer stuff like Picard and Strange New Worlds and Strain and Lower decks. So. Hey, whatever.
[00:28:41] Speaker B: What? 25.99 each?
These are $10 figure.
These look worse than the Walmart figures that you get. Like, those figures are okay. What is it, like a XN or whatever action? You know those ones?
[00:28:59] Speaker A: Yeah, I do.
[00:29:00] Speaker B: Like, this is.
Oh, my gosh. 25. No way in hell. That's bonkers.
[00:29:06] Speaker A: That's the price point these days. Yeah. So, I don't know. I'm sure, you know, a collector out there will be left with an incomplete set, as usual, so.
[00:29:17] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. What happened to Super 7? Is that still happening? Or they just.
[00:29:22] Speaker A: Yeah, they just stopped. I got. I have four figures.
[00:29:26] Speaker B: Star Trek figures. It's so weird, right?
[00:29:29] Speaker A: I was. I stopped. I was like. I got those four figures. It's like you can't even complete the basic crew.
[00:29:36] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:29:37] Speaker A: And then you're left in the dark with the rest of them. So it's like. All right, thanks. Thanks for nothing.
Yes. Anyways, jumping to music news, we don't really talk about music too often, but John Carpenter, who we love, is back with this 10th anniversary of Lost Themes. Casey.
[00:30:00] Speaker B: That's right.
[00:30:01] Speaker A: 10 years.
We saw him in concert in New York when the first. After the first album came out, right? Yep.
[00:30:09] Speaker B: Yeah.
This. No, they had been. Was this 10 years ago?
[00:30:15] Speaker A: 2015.
[00:30:16] Speaker B: Then this was it.
[00:30:17] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. 16, right? 2016 or so.
[00:30:22] Speaker B: It was probably. Right. It was this tour.
[00:30:24] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:30:25] Speaker B: So anyway, yeah, this is. Or no, you know what? I'm sorry. We would have saw him maybe before that. Because we saw him doing the theme songs.
[00:30:36] Speaker A: That's right.
[00:30:37] Speaker B: So this is after that.
So we might tell him even longer ago. Anyway, Lost Themes is a great freaking album.
I think I will order this right now.
[00:30:50] Speaker A: There you go.
[00:30:54] Speaker B: I love this album so much. So. It's great.
[00:30:57] Speaker A: For sure. And now there's like four of them. Three or four. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:31:03] Speaker B: Keeps rocking.
[00:31:03] Speaker A: Literally, just like us. 10th anniversary.
Backing it up.
[00:31:08] Speaker B: Share that album inspired this podcast.
[00:31:14] Speaker A: Yeah. I heard he's gonna write us a new theme song for Kali Talk as well, in honor of our 10th anniversary.
[00:31:20] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:31:21] Speaker A: Can't wait. Can't wait to hear that one.
We're jumping over to TV streaming news. Castlevania Nocturne, which I hope you're Jumping on soon.
Season 3 will most likely happen.
It had strong viewership.
I loved it. It was. It's a great show. And I don't see why it can't just continue on forever.
[00:31:43] Speaker B: But.
[00:31:46] Speaker A: I will gladly wait for season three.
[00:31:50] Speaker B: It's like, the first one only got three seasons.
Or did it got four? That's right.
[00:31:57] Speaker A: Yeah.
No, it got. It got four. The fourth season is as long as. Like, the first two seasons. Like, first season short.
[00:32:05] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:32:05] Speaker A: First and the other one episodes.
[00:32:07] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:32:07] Speaker A: 12. 10 or 12. But the problem was that what's his name. Yeah. Warren Ellis got removed during. Before season four. During. Or whatever. So it still ends. Great. And. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:32:21] Speaker B: I love this new take.
[00:32:22] Speaker A: Is great. Yeah. All right. Good stuff. Yes, please do. So you can talk about it then. Look at this, Casey. Not a reboot, right? Not a reboot. This is like a continuation of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Like, old, old woman Buffy. Like, what. What are we getting here?
[00:32:42] Speaker B: She. Sarah Michelle Geller's back. She confirmed it. She went on her Instagram. She wrote a whole long thing about how she has been working with Chloe Zhao for years. And I love Chloe Zhao. So, I mean, like, that's insane as it is.
[00:33:00] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:33:00] Speaker B: It's wild. You know, I. I guess they threw out the word reboot. You have? Yeah. You would think it's a continuation of it.
[00:33:08] Speaker A: So unless, you know, the Giles character should be kind of funny, too. Yeah.
[00:33:14] Speaker B: You know, I don't. Yeah.
Huh.
[00:33:17] Speaker A: That could be the continuation. She.
[00:33:19] Speaker B: Well, we don't know. Right. Because you think, like, it's.
Are they gonna take those comics into place? Those Dark Horse comics? Do they take the new comics? Well, no, that isn't. I don't know. I don't know what they're doing, so.
But I'm excited.
[00:33:36] Speaker A: Exactly. Exactly.
And then Rings of Power, season three is moving forward, which is kind of crazy to think about this, because, remember, five seasons. Right. Right.
[00:33:50] Speaker B: Have to.
[00:33:51] Speaker A: But I guess my point of this is, like, you've already dropped season two, and now we have to wait for season three, which seems like a long wait. There is a big time jump, so I guess waiting that long isn't.
[00:34:04] Speaker B: What's the big deal? When's the next season?
[00:34:07] Speaker A: I don't know. They're just gonna. They just greenlit it, so season two is already through. You know what I mean? So it's not like they're gonna.
[00:34:14] Speaker B: They're all.
[00:34:15] Speaker A: It wasn't on deck. You know what I mean?
[00:34:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:34:18] Speaker A: So now we'll be waiting, like, two years or whatever. But that's that's, that's the world we live in. So I still haven't watched season two yet. Have you watched season one?
[00:34:29] Speaker B: No. Oh, there's too much tv. Look at what you're about to announce.
[00:34:33] Speaker A: Yes. And something I'll gladly wait for for as long as it takes to make this.
The Forgotten Realms will be brought to us by Netflix.
This is gonna be our live action Dungeons and Dragons TV show. The fact that it's gonna be taking. It's called the Forgotten Realms gets me really excited because I'm hoping that we get a lot of those. You know, it's in that, it's in that. That the whole story base that they've, they've given us for the last decades and decades.
[00:35:06] Speaker B: Yeah, that is, that's the world. I mean, so is the movie.
[00:35:10] Speaker A: Right.
[00:35:11] Speaker B: It's in there.
[00:35:11] Speaker A: So get, hopefully like we get some, you know, more balls gate some drist, you know, whatever. Like they could, this, this could be whatever they wanted to be. This is gonna, we got Sean Levy, Drew Cravalo on it, you know, so this is, this is big, big news.
[00:35:32] Speaker B: Yeah. This is, you know, Sean Levy's been on fire. Deadpool and Wolverine was huge. Stranger Things Season 5 comes out this year. It will be huge. Like, he's.
Isn't he doing a Star wars movie? Like, who isn't? Right. So this is, this is big though, because it, A TV show is what it needs though, that movie, I've watched it again. It is a great movie. It's not even just. It's. It's a great movie.
[00:36:03] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:36:03] Speaker B: I really wish we would get in. Every single person, like on Reddit is like, this is great.
I don't know. I feel bad.
[00:36:12] Speaker A: Yeah. It's just weird. We don't. There is no sequel or. Yeah. Or spin off or whatever from that show. But you know what? This is coming and you know, be.
[00:36:23] Speaker B: Happy with what we're getting, I guess.
[00:36:24] Speaker A: Exactly. Exactly. So anyways, over movie news, speaking of great stuff, the faculty, which I can watch over and over again, is getting a remake.
I, I don't know how I feel about that because I could just go watch the original faculty and be very happy with it.
But what do you think about this one?
[00:36:51] Speaker B: You know, it's this guy, he just did Companion. People are really liking it. Robert Rodriguez is signing on as the producer. It's one of the most on Robert Rodriguez movies, you know, so like I, you know, I've watched it again recently.
It's fine. Like, it's good, but it's not, you know, it's fine. It's nostalgia more than anything, so for sure I'm fine if, like, the CGI will be better, the aliens will be cooler. You know what I mean? Like, they can literally just redo it with young kids and cooler aliens. And I'll probably be like, oh, that's great. And how it's shot. You know what I mean? Like, I don't need much to impress you for that.
[00:37:30] Speaker A: No, no. We're easily impressed, so.
[00:37:33] Speaker B: Yeah, and it's not like you're saying the thing. You know what I mean? Like, it's not this coveted movie either.
[00:37:41] Speaker A: No, no, they tried Faculty.
[00:37:42] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. It was okay again if the monster wasn't cgi, but.
[00:37:47] Speaker A: Yeah, right.
Good point.
Another. Another movie, Final Destination, is getting another entry called Bloodlines. Does every horror franchise get a movie called Bloodlines in it? I mean.
[00:38:02] Speaker B: Yes. Yes, they do.
[00:38:04] Speaker A: They reach a certain number.
[00:38:07] Speaker B: Yeah.
So the trailer is really just a scene in the movie. Like maybe the opening death sequence or something. So I didn't watch. I watched some of it until I realized they weren't cutting. And I was like, okay, this is that scene. So I get it. It's another Final Destination. I love Final Destination. I love every single one of them. Except for the third one is meh. But I really do love those movies. I think they're great. I think the deaths are very inventive. This look to be keeping that up. I will be there in the theater.
[00:38:41] Speaker A: Cool.
Looking forward to it.
[00:38:44] Speaker B: Heck, yeah.
[00:38:46] Speaker A: Next up, Scott Snyder's Dark Spaces Dungeon will be adapted into a movie.
Scott Snyder and Hayden Sherman.
Did you read this comic?
[00:39:00] Speaker B: No.
[00:39:01] Speaker A: Me neither. Me neither. I think it was this. One of the ones forgot if this was like substack stuff and then it got released. I forget is idw. Yeah, No, I remember when it came out, but I also thought. I remember them hyping those comics at that time on Substack as the like. As, like the way that, like, you could only read it this way and then they would be on, you know, released by IGW or whatever. So, I don't know, let's see. Serial killers, family who flee the city to build a life in rural New Hampshire, only discover a sinister dungeon in their house and a terrifying message. Tell no one.
[00:39:46] Speaker B: I mean, that sounds awesome.
[00:39:50] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:39:51] Speaker B: Cool.
[00:39:52] Speaker A: Bring it on. Yeah, I trust God. Snyder, right? Horror.
[00:39:54] Speaker B: I mean, you know, here's my thing, though.
10,000 genies or whatever it was got announced for a TV show, like, the moment the comic book came out. Like, I believe the woods. Right. Has been announced. Like we've seen these things. Like, let's actually see it.
[00:40:11] Speaker A: True, true.
Something that we will probably definitely see because it's not like you and I haven't spent plenty of money on this game and just getting into it, it's very addictive. And now our life Magic the Gathering, we knew they announced was going to be getting some stuff. We talked about that in the show recently, but they have said here now there's a film and TV universe being built by Hasbro with Legendary running the whole thing.
So hey, the more they announced from this, I mean, there's so much to tap into. I mean the world is, the worlds are endless, all the themes are endless. Like it's epic. And they have. This is just begging for a series to be made.
[00:41:08] Speaker B: Yeah. And I think, you know, the idea of first they'll do a film, then go into a TV universe, you know, I don't even know what you do. Right. Planeswalkers start there, go from there.
[00:41:23] Speaker A: I don't know, man.
[00:41:25] Speaker B: I don't know.
[00:41:26] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:41:26] Speaker B: So it's, it's big. It's, it's pretty cool for Hasbro to have Dungeons and Dragons and magic and be able to, to have TV shows and everything on both sides. But yeah, I excited to find out what this all means and when we see it.
[00:41:45] Speaker A: Absolutely. And you know, it's, it's just going to get crazier as we get into this year with the magic sets that are dropping and our fandom will just grow so very excited.
Speaking of, I guess excitement. No, just joking. Today we got our first look at he man's chest and power sword in front of it. So the first official pick from the movie dropped. We had just gotten a couple behind the scenes pictures of Prince Adam in like Earth get up Prince Adam colored clothing being arrested, which was like, all right. But now we're getting like this official, you know, from, from Mattel. So that's exciting to know that it's really underway. We knew that filming had been. They said the production was underway and I hope they just keep dropping this stuff on us to remind us that it's real.
[00:42:41] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean that's the casting just keeps getting more wild and seeing, seeing that sword, seeing that classic, you know, get up just even in a tease with a be muscled man that is he man. So let's, let's see what's next. Next. You know, I, I, once we start seeing these characters, if they look like the characters, we will all start getting excited. Just like the Fantastic Four with the thing looking like classic Kirby. Like that's just a thing, you know what I mean? Like the real hardcore sweaties get that. So let's see what they're going to do with this Masters. And I really hope they are faithful to the property, but I kind of feel like they're going to be like, you gotta think to Mattel, they made a billion dollars or something with that Barbie movie. Like they gotta be thinking like, we don't want to. We gotta keep this momentum up. We got the girls, let's get the guys.
[00:43:47] Speaker A: But this is going to Amazon, right? To the service from. What? No way is he going to theaters.
[00:43:54] Speaker B: Yeah, it has to. There's no way it's gonna stay on just tv.
[00:43:59] Speaker A: No, that's too big. You would think so, especially looking at that picture.
Yes.
Some castings. Morena Baccarin as the sorceress Jonas Hawker.
I forgot who he was cast as. I don't have that listed here.
We have Randor and Marlena. Oh, Fisto. That's right. That guy looks like Fisto.
He does. James Purefoy and Charlotte Riley will be playing the King and Queen of Eternia.
And then we also have Ram man, which is another big casting there. Nicholas Gelitzine.
[00:44:53] Speaker B: Jeez.
[00:44:54] Speaker A: I mean, come on, man. This is just. They're announcing all of the mainstays, some extra characters included.
This is more than what they did of course, with Dolph Lundgren movie. So we can only hope that they do everything right and have no expectations going into it.
[00:45:15] Speaker B: I think it's gonna be, you know, I have high expectations.
[00:45:20] Speaker A: You have high expectations or should we temper this?
[00:45:24] Speaker B: I think we're going to have. I think it's going to be good.
[00:45:26] Speaker A: I do too. I'm excited.
[00:45:28] Speaker B: The casting sounds so good.
[00:45:30] Speaker A: It does.
So this is true. The first time in 60 years Hammer films unleashes a brand new monster.
It's called Ithaqua.
[00:45:43] Speaker B: Yeah, this sounds, you know, pretty, pretty interesting. It's a, it's a creature feature, which is exciting because we don't get a lot of those. And like you were saying to Nosferatu, that was, you know, that was a creature.
[00:46:00] Speaker A: So is, is Ithaqua. Is that a Lovecraft? I think it's Lovecraft.
[00:46:07] Speaker B: Yeah, it is.
[00:46:08] Speaker A: And okay.
[00:46:09] Speaker B: Yep, pretty cool.
[00:46:11] Speaker A: So.
[00:46:13] Speaker B: Yeah. What's, what's that then? You know what I mean?
[00:46:17] Speaker A: Right.
[00:46:18] Speaker B: And I'm sure if it's Hammer films, like owned by somebody, like they can't have, they don't have the money for a CGI Creature probably. So hopefully it will be a nice, cool looking like monster.
[00:46:31] Speaker A: For sure. Sure. We got Luke Hemsworth, Kevin Duran, Michael Pitt, Craig Luzon and Leanne Lena Robinson in the movies as well. So I got the cast and everything. Ready for it. Ready for it.
Next up, Speaking of monsters, Godzilla -1 sequel is underway.
Writing the script, looking at all that money they made off that first movie to see if they can top it.
Whatever they do, I'm excited for.
[00:47:04] Speaker B: Willing to work everybody to the absolute grind to make that 15 million dollar budget again.
[00:47:12] Speaker A: That's right. Gosh, no labor laws, no nothing. Just make the movie.
[00:47:21] Speaker B: Work.
[00:47:22] Speaker A: That's right.
But yeah, Godzilla - 2 is. No, I'm excited. I wonder if they will bring another monster in. What the deal will be. They have to, they have to do it, right. They can't just do the monsterverse.
[00:47:40] Speaker B: They don't like the opposite.
[00:47:42] Speaker A: Right.
[00:47:42] Speaker B: Yeah. It would be another. I guess we'd see. Though I will say, speaking of geeking out, did watch that new Godzilla X Kong movie?
[00:47:52] Speaker A: Yes. It's pretty badass, isn't it? Yeah, I love that movie.
[00:47:58] Speaker B: Like, that is. I was genuinely like, okay, this is awesome.
[00:48:03] Speaker A: Yeah, the. It doesn't stop the movie. And what's his name's character? The dentist.
[00:48:12] Speaker B: Oh, Dan Stevens.
[00:48:14] Speaker A: Yeah, I love Dan Stevens.
[00:48:15] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:48:16] Speaker A: Let's see. Like the music of that movie is freaking awesome. That was the Junkie xl. The old. That guy. That, that movie. He doesn't go by that anymore. But all of that movie, everything about that movie is so much fun. So I'm glad you finally watched it.
And then there's a small tidbit of news. Happy 70th to Godzilla raids again. So we're getting, we're getting all these. The second movie featuring Anguirus, you know, so maybe we'll get Anguirus in that. In that. Minus two.
[00:48:51] Speaker B: There we go.
[00:48:52] Speaker A: We'll see. We'll see.
Mia Goth joins Christopher Nolan's the Odyssey.
[00:49:00] Speaker B: Okay.
Yeah, I like her. Good actress.
Obviously Christopher Nolan's gonna be doing some wild stuff. So. Yeah.
[00:49:09] Speaker A: Yeah. It's gonna be kind of wild to see how much this movie costs and how epic it is because his movies are just all over the place, honestly. Yes. Of the movies he makes. So I'm excited for that. I love that story. So next up, speaking of comic adaptations, Basket full of Heads, Natasha Leone will star in the movie based on that comic.
[00:49:36] Speaker B: Wow, that's crazy. Yeah. Joe Hill did that one.
[00:49:41] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:49:42] Speaker B: Yeah, Good, Cool. You know, I love her. I love Joe Hill.
I feel like he Was like, getting talked about every five seconds, and then he just kind of stopped. I don't know if he's just. I don't know what he's doing anymore.
[00:49:54] Speaker A: Yeah, just like breaking. Breaking in the cash.
[00:49:58] Speaker B: Probably hanging out with his bag of money with his dad.
[00:50:01] Speaker A: Yeah. Right.
[00:50:01] Speaker B: Yeah. All right, well, good for him. Keep it up.
[00:50:06] Speaker A: And then last up in movie tv, whatever this is going to be. Amazon has gained complete creative control over the James Bond franchise.
This has taken a while for this to happen, which, honestly, it's just kind of. It's been speculated here and there about the 007 going to Amazon. We've been waiting for something from it besides like a. What was it, like a contest TV show.
[00:50:36] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:50:37] Speaker A: Become James Bond or whatever. I don't know. Young James Bond.
But yeah, this is huge.
And there's a lot of speculation out there about what they're going to do. So what do you think about this 007 fan?
[00:50:53] Speaker B: I was actually really kind of shocked by this now.
[00:50:58] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:50:58] Speaker B: Jeff Bezos tweeted out, like, who's going to be the next James Bond? And, like, that's kind of how they announced it, but they basically threw out $1 billion to say, like, give us creative control and back off Broccoli family. So it's hard to say because, you know, when you. It's like, would Star wars be better if George Lucas had it this whole time?
Or, you know what I mean? Like, does it give birth to things like. Like, no one's writing James. Like, okay, sorry, a couple people are writing James Bond comics.
[00:51:34] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:51:35] Speaker B: But that is it. You know what I mean? So if you're a fan of this franchise, you were waiting for a movie and it's been a while, you know what I mean? So, like, it's kind of hard in that sense where, like, you could have a TV show, you could have James Bond Jr. You could. You know what I mean? Like, you could do a lot of things. You can go off on the villains, blah, blah, blah. So I don't know, I. I kind of like the idea that we're gonna get more James Bond probably a lot faster.
[00:52:01] Speaker A: Right.
[00:52:02] Speaker B: And more people can be involved and you know what I mean? Just because the Broccoli family, you know, owns everything and does, you know, there's also Specter, and it sucks. So, you know what I mean? Like, it doesn't mean they. They make all the right decisions.
[00:52:19] Speaker A: Right.
[00:52:21] Speaker B: So, you know, there's that too Moonraker.
[00:52:31] Speaker A: Anyways.
But we'll look forward to more news from that and we'll. Sure, I'm sure we'll have some big announcements here.
[00:52:41] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:52:41] Speaker A: So.
And last up, we're going to talk about some gaming news.
The first one I put in here was Uchu Race. If you liked F0, check out this game. If you like classic like that age of racing games. I put this in here because I love those kind of games and.
But I really like to check it out. So this looks great.
[00:53:09] Speaker B: Yeah, I do like F0 and you know what I mean, we were in that time period of rock and roll racing and the 16 bit pixelated stuff. Yeah, this looks like a lot of fun. So looks like a game that was kind of what, like made in the 80s and then disappeared or in the 90s. 1994 for the Super Famicom.
Nice. All right, cool.
[00:53:35] Speaker A: Yeah, absolutely. And it's also like these games where I can just, I can play it on my, on my Steam deck, you know, when they're. Yeah, I don't need AAA games all the time, so only once in a while. Next up, TMNT has a playable demo. It's a turn based turtles game, Tactical Takedown. So no release date yet, but the demo will be.
Demo's out now. It's there until I guess March 3rd.
[00:54:06] Speaker B: It says so.
Yes. Yeah. Yeah. So the game doesn't have a release date yet, but you know, this is the one that was kind of like that.
What is the XCOM and the Mario Rabbits game. So I really want to check this out. I didn't realize that the demo was out. So guess what I'll be doing now? Downloading that demo.
[00:54:32] Speaker A: There you go. Did you, did you ever play the Aliens one?
Because it was free for PS plus and before I quit PS plus, I, I download and played it a little bit. I'm not a big fan of those games but. And they're, they're tough. This one is extremely tough. Like it's, it's relentless and it's like it's, it is Aliens. It's great. So I had as much fun as I could with that kind of game.
[00:55:01] Speaker B: I get you.
[00:55:03] Speaker A: But something I'm really looking forward to is this new Metroidvania. It's called Chronicles of the Wolf.
It's crazy because it actually has Robert Belgrade who played Alucard in Symphony of the Night. He does some narration in it.
And my recent Ignition of Love or whatever of these games again, the Reignition has got me really excited for this. So I put this on my wish list. I'm my, my Steam. Steam account because I will play this game looks great.
[00:55:37] Speaker B: Yeah. This looks again, you know, the things that people have been doing nowadays with updating these 16 bit games. It's just on another level, you know what I mean? Like, they're taking things that we love and they're adding things that we've needed, you know, like saves and you know, maybe not as hard.
[00:55:59] Speaker A: Right.
[00:56:00] Speaker B: So it's been really, really cool.
[00:56:02] Speaker A: Yeah, absolutely. I agree.
Especially going back and playing some of those games. Like, this is. This is really tough. I'm glad they have save states.
Yakuza, like a dragon has gotten that new Hawaii game where it's like pirates and all that stuff. It's kind of like a. It's not as big as the other ones. I guess it's they. From what they've explained, people say it's fun, but this April we're getting our next Dave the Diver crossover and it's crossing over with that. Okay, I'm exciting. I had a lot of fun with the Godzilla crossover that they did and I always need a reason to play some more. Dave the Diver.
[00:56:50] Speaker B: I didn't realize there's like action in Dave the Diver. I literally was just diving.
[00:56:56] Speaker A: No, there's not action.
This looks like they're adding some stuff in, adding some new gameplay to it.
[00:57:03] Speaker B: Oh, wow.
[00:57:05] Speaker A: So it's like they just evolved the game. It's kind of like what they did with Vampire Survivors.
[00:57:10] Speaker B: Okay, sounds like I need to play Dave the Diver.
[00:57:13] Speaker A: Have you ever played it?
[00:57:15] Speaker B: No. And it's like rated so high.
[00:57:18] Speaker A: I love Dave the Diver. It's. It's like, it's like meditation sometimes and then like you're done and then you go work the sushi restaurant and it's like, it's great. Just reminds me of my restaurant days without, you know, too much trauma, you know. Exactly. Sitting on my couch.
Yeah, it's cool. You go catch the fish, you breed the fish, you make, you plant the food and all those supplies go to the restaurant, you make dishes and you sell them and try to like make a lot of money. It's freaking sweet. Love it. Love it.
Last up, we're going to talk about some magic. The gathering.
Couple things. Couple things. Let's talk about Final Fantasy that got revealed before Magicon happened. This past weekend, they dropped the big preview for the new Final Fantasy stuff that's coming up. They put everything on pre order, which is like the earliest they've done that for like, it's very early compared to like most things. It came out before the Dragon set even, which is Due out before that.
And then the Final Fantasy stuff sold out immediately, almost.
It took a day or so. I was able to get some pre orders in, but it's. I even talked to my local guy. He's just like, the collector stuff is just going to be gone. Like, that's going to be the hardest stuff to get. The other stuff will kind of get, you know, released here and there, and hopefully you can get your hands on stuff. But all these stores already marking things up.
It's crazy.
[00:58:45] Speaker B: Crazy.
Yep. It's. It's one of those times when it's hard to support your local game store when they're gonna jack it up like 10:15 over Amazon, you know what I mean? Or Best Buy. And, like, I want to support you guys and I still do, but, like, you got to be realistic for us, too.
[00:59:07] Speaker A: Right. It's like, totally taking advantage of the situation because it's. It's. It's kind of doing you dirty. Right. Because you expect your local games sort of be better with these kind of things. And I didn't say that out loud. I kind of wrote it. I said, I understand the business, but I said, will these. Will there be more supply? You know, I like what's. Like, tell me what's happening.
So whatever. These guys got to make money, too. It's not easy these days.
[00:59:32] Speaker B: Yeah, I know they do hard store.
[00:59:35] Speaker A: Because obviously that stuff's like crack, you know, so those guys make money.
They don't. Okay. Better than a comic book shop.
And then Magicon happened over the weekend. I didn't watch much other than Friday's thing. I didn't really have a chance to, I guess. Really? That's really the big announcements. They showed more.
[00:59:55] Speaker B: They showed.
[00:59:55] Speaker A: They showed the Final Fantasy thing again. They showed the dragons, and then they revealed artwork from the upcoming space set. What is it called?
Yeah, that. That art looks great. And I love the scale of it, and I'm really excited to see more from it.
Yeah. I mean, did you watch that video where they're, like, talking about the starship? Like, the Starship Cruisers.
Yeah, like the scale of that idea right there.
Right. And they've been doing vehicles and things like that. But what is it. What are you talking about? When we're doing, like, space battles with.
[01:00:31] Speaker B: What are you talking about? When there's creatures that can eat planets.
[01:00:34] Speaker A: Right. What is the scale? It's insane. Yeah.
[01:00:38] Speaker B: Like, do you throw down Urza Planet eater against your 1 1? Like, I don't. You know, I don't know. Like, I also love it. So I'll be there. Avatar stuff like fine. Like I guess I'll see like what individual cars it to me the color schemes match you know magic very well other than black so we'll see what they decide to do with that set but dragons. Some big dragons coming.
[01:01:10] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, that. That's going. That went up for pre order right? So has it gone up yet?
[01:01:16] Speaker B: I don't think so yet.
[01:01:17] Speaker A: All right. April, it comes out so be looking for that bundle pre release and stuff. So I was I've been cert I've been kind of sorting through my dragons as I've been looking through my sets and building my ducks this past week. So it's good stuff. Good stuff.
